The command deck remained frozen, submerged beneath the crushing, physical weight of the True King’s presence.

Rhaevia stared across the narrow gap between them, her dark eyes glittering through a veil of unshed tears. For the first time across a thousand forgotten lives, she could see the absolute, heartbreaking truth behind his devotion.

He had waited through the slow collapse of star systems. He had watched her from the dark edges of the universe, honoring her final decree across more than a thousand distinct lifetimes.

Now, at the end of her long, wandering path, he had personally returned the lost fragments of her soul.

The True King slowly extended one pale, steady hand, his fingers uncurling in a gesture of surrender. Concentrated golden light gathered around his palm, vibrating with a resonance that made the flagship tremble.

Behind his imposing figure, an enormous, breathtaking projection flared to life across the command deck. It was a throne, but unlike the obsidian seat of the Second Sovereign.

This throne was magnificent, carved from golden crystal and woven together with living strands of starlight. Geometric symbols spiraled around its towering backrest, flanked by two colossal wings of radiant light.

Rhaevia’s heart squeezed painfully in her chest as recognition washed over her. She knew the weight of that seat, for she had sat upon its crystalline surface before.

The True King looked at her with an expression of agonizing hope. “Come home, my Sovereign,” he whispered softly.

His voice carried no military command, no imperial demand, and no cosmic expectation. It was merely a gentle, exhausted invitation from a guardian who had carried the universe alone.

“The throne has waited for you,” he added, his gaze fixed on her pale face.

The golden throne slowly materialized, descending through the holographic projection until it hovered directly behind Rhaevia’s body. The moment its energy touched the room, every Zerg on the planet below flattened its body against the earth.

High above the planet, emergency klaxons began screaming through the corridors of the Imperial fleet. Mass surges of energy erupted across the surrounding star systems, waking sleeping relays throughout the sector.

Rhaevia felt the crystal seat calling directly to something buried in the deepest layer of her soul. For a brief, terrifying moment, her mind flashed with a vision of her former self sitting upon the throne.

She saw thousands of alien species kneeling in unison before her feet. She saw invincible star fleets awaiting her single word, and entire galaxy sectors sheltered beneath her absolute protection.

On that throne, no enemy could touch her, and no civilization could ever threaten her peace again. She could step back into the terrifying, divine authority of the Sovereign she had been.

All she needed to do was turn around and take her seat.

Rhaevia slowly turned her head toward the golden throne, staring into the blinding light of her past. Then, with composure, she shook her head.

“No,” she said clearly.

The True King’s expression fractured, a flicker of shock passing through his silver eyes.

Rhaevia took a single, deliberate step forward, moving away from the crystalline structure. “I remember what I was,” she said, her voice steady and resonant in the room.

“I remember the throne, and I remember the wars,” she continued, taking another step. “I remember the crushing weight of billions of lives depending on my every breath.”

Her dark eyes hardened with clear, unyielding conviction as she glanced back over her shoulder. “And I remember why I walked away from it all.”

The magnificent radiance of the golden throne flickered erratically, as if reacting to her rejection. The True King remained silent, his hand lingering in the air.

Rhaevia lowered her gaze to her own small, pale hands. These hands had wielded weapons, held the blood of dead worlds, and commanded star fleets.

Yet, these were also the hands that had been gently held by her mother in the ducal estate. They were the hands that her overprotective brothers had dragged into warm, chaotic family meals.

They were the hands that had trained alongside Raevor and the hands that belonged to the woman she had chosen to become.

“I don’t want that throne,” she declared, her words cutting through the command deck like a crystal bell. “I don’t want to spend another lifetime becoming a god who belongs to everyone except herself.”

The True King watched her, his aura pulling back slightly.

Rhaevia turned her back on the golden throne, facing the present. “I choose my family,” she murmured softly.

Warm memories flashed behind her eyes in rapid succession. She saw her mother’s affectionate embrace, her father’s quiet protection, and her brothers standing guard around her like shields.

She saw the genuine home she had been given when she believed she was nothing more than an E-rank failure.

Then, she turned her eyes toward Raevor. He had remained silent throughout her confrontation with the past, standing like an unyielding rock beside her.

He had never tried to force her choice, nor had he demanded that she step into her former identity. He had simply stood between her and the void, holding the line.

Rhaevia walked straight toward him, closing the remaining distance between them. Raevor’s silver eyes met hers, burning with devotion.

“I choose you,” she said softly.

A rare, visible shift passed over Raevor’s disciplined features.

Rhaevia reached out, her hand finding his calloused palm. “Not because a prophecy claims you are supposed to stand beside me,” she said, her fingers intertwining firmly with his.

“And not because our souls might have been tied together across a thousand forgotten lives,” she added, a soft, breathless smile touching her lips. “I choose you because I want you here with me right now.”

Raevor’s strong fingers closed tightly around hers, anchoring her to the present. “Then I’m staying right here,” he promised softly.

The words were plain and simple, yet they carried a weight far greater than any ancient oath sworn before the stars.

The True King watched the two of them standing side by side. For several seconds, his face remained impassive.

Then, a faint, melancholic smile curved his lips, his silver eyes softening with peace. “Then that is your answer, my Sovereign,” he murmured.

Behind Rhaevia, the colossal golden throne suddenly began to fracture, disintegrating into millions of sparkling crystalline particles. The dust scattered across the command deck like falling stars, dissolving into nothingness.

The heavy, oppressive weight of the sovereign authority attempted to force its way back around her shoulders. Rhaevia actively rejected the mantle, shutting her consciousness to its pull.

Instead, a blinding supernova of golden Sovereign energy and silver Sentinel light erupted simultaneously from Rhaevia and Raevor. The two distinct energies intertwined in midair, forming a perfect, harmonious helix of light.

Down on the planet and out in the void, the spatial fabric of the galaxy shuddered under the sheer magnitude of their resonance.

[SOVEREIGN GUIDE: FULLY AWAKENED.]

[SOVEREIGN SENTINEL: FULLY AWAKENED.]

Raevor’s Sentinel aura surged violently, wrapping around her with absolute protective power. Rhaevia’s Guide energy expanded outward, piercing the hull of the flagship and spreading across the sector.

Their two energies collided, aligned, and merged into a single, unbreakable field. A blinding, ethereal wave swept across the entire planetary surface.

Down below, the vast Zerg armies bowed their heads even lower, their chaotic minds completely calmed by the harmonic aura. Out in orbit, the sensors of the Imperial fleet fell silent, overloaded by the sudden surge of energy.

Forgotten systems buried across the galaxy began chiming in unison, registering a resonance event that shattered every known military metric.

[PAIR RESONANCE: 100%.]

Before the numbers could settle, another system line rendered across the floating interface.

[ANCIENT THRONE: REJECTED.]

Rhaevia looked up into Raevor’s eyes, her smile bright and free of fear.

[NEW AUTHORITY: SELF-DETERMINATION.]

For the first time in human history, the system did not bind her through an ancient title or an imperial classification. It recognized her absolute choice.

Rhaevia squeezed Raevor’s hand tightly. “I don’t know what happens next,” she whispered.

Raevor turned his head toward the dark observation window, looking out into the starry expanse.

“Then we’ll find out together,” he replied firmly.

The True King slowly turned his body toward the shimmering spatial rift, preparing to fade back into the void. But before his form could vanish, every alarm console across the command deck began screaming in terror.

The golden interface shattered into fragments of light, replaced instantaneously by a blood-red warning display that pulsed violently.

Rhaevia’s smile vanished as dread gripped her heart. Raevor immediately shifted his posture, lifting his head toward the display.

Beyond the outer perimeter of the galaxy, an unknown energy signature materialized on long-range sensors. It was vast, ancient, and moving toward the sector at terrifying speeds.

The final notification rendered across the screen in jagged, crimson letters.

[WARNING.]

[THE THIRD SOVEREIGN HAS ENTERED THE GALAXY.]

Rhaevia stared directly into the endless darkness beyond the stars, her breath trapped in her chest.

Behind her, the True King glanced over his shoulder one last time, his quiet whisper echoing through her mind. “She has finally found you.”
