Chapter 1074: Chapter 1101: There’s Still a Long Way to Go (Part 6)
Koa Jackson knew she had a gathering at noon, so he didn’t call her. He got up early in the morning and went alone to visit his grandpa’s family at the Ward Family. Meanwhile, after Mia Ginger finished her morning routine and had a simple breakfast, she drove to Camden River’s new apartment.
Camden River worked at a TV station, and this new apartment was not far from his workplace, located in a high-end residential area called Central Scenic Court.
On a weekend, around noon, it was hot, and the roads weren’t too congested. Mia arrived at eleven o’clock.
Upon reaching the estate, Mia called Camden.
"Building One, Apartment 1801," Camden succinctly gave her the address.
Mia didn’t say much, hung up the phone, parked her car, grabbed the gift from the back seat, and entered the community.
The unit was easy to find, and she quickly went upstairs.
The door to the apartment was left open and laughter could be heard from inside. Mia followed the sounds after getting out of the elevator, glanced at the door number, and walked in. She immediately spotted Camden River and smiled as she said, "This neighborhood has a nice environment."
"Mainly because it’s close to work," Camden said while walking up to her and introduced, "These are my roommates. You know Ali Harris and Jacob Quinn, right?"
"Yeah, hi everyone," Mia smiled and greeted them.
"Hello, beautiful lady!"
"This housewarming gift looks like a piece of calligraphy or a painting."
"Open it and see."
"Even Monitor Ginger is here. Why hasn’t the official girlfriend arrived yet?"
Being in the same college, Mia and Windsor Myres were both well-known figures, so all of Camden’s roommates naturally recognized her and stood up to make some jokes.
Mia was a bit puzzled, "Windsor and the others haven’t arrived yet?"
"They’re on their way," Camden smiled lightly.
"Mind giving me a tour?" Mia glanced around, casually ignoring the previous banter about viewing the gift.
Camden glanced at the scroll in her hand, nodded, and smiled at the others, "You guys have a seat first. There’s more fruit in the kitchen. Feel free to wash some if you finish it."
"No one’s being polite with you."
"Haha."
The group laughed and nodded, watching Camden show Mia around the apartment.
One of Camden’s roommates had brought his girlfriend along. Seeing the two head into the study, he couldn’t help but whispered, "That’s not his girlfriend, huh? I thought she was. They look so well-matched."
"You don’t know this girl?" someone chuckled, "Jacob, doesn’t your girlfriend browse the internet?"
The guy named Jacob explained in a low voice, "That’s Mia Ginger. Do you remember? Two years ago, there was quite a fuss about something online."
"...that girl?" The girl exclaimed softly, suddenly realizing, "She had short hair before, and now it’s in a ponytail. So much time has passed. I didn’t recognize her at first."
"Isn’t it her? And she’s getting prettier."
"Camden used to like her, and later he got involved with one of her friends."
"Huh?" Girls always love gossip, and she suppressed her excitement as she asked, "How did that happen? How did they get together?"
"Haha, it’s a long story," the guy speaking held back further details, teasingly.
"The girl must be really pretty too, right?" The girl pondered a bit and spoke with a hint of admiration.
"Beautiful and very sexy,"
"The only downside is she’s a bit flirtatious and quite a handful. Most guys can’t handle her," Jacob said with a surprising statement, lowering his voice and chuckling, with a hint of disdain in his expression.
