Richard Shaw reached out and patted him on the shoulder, nodding as he said, "The Shaw Family owes you a favor. In the future, if there’s anything you need, you can speak directly to my guard."

As he spoke, he glanced at Shuang Zi, who quickly stepped forward to escort Marcus Quinn out, leaving behind a contact number.

In the lounge, as soon as Richard Shaw and Marcus Quinn left, Lana Shaw burst into tears, crying, "Sister-in-law, what should I do? Today is the engagement party, and all the elite families of the Imperial City are here."

Leah helped her wipe the scalding tears, noticing the slight spasms in her sobbing. Her peach blossom eyes showed a hint of contemplation as she held her hand and asked, "Lana, I see you as a sister. Before, when you were dating Caspian Yarn, I had someone investigate him and found that there was more to the downfall of the Chase Family. The Chase Family’s collapse and the death of Mr. Chase are all related to the Yarn Family, but there has been no solid evidence. Now that the young girl from the Chase Family has also been found, it’s impossible for the Yarn Family to extricate themselves. Even if we, the Shaw Family, don’t pursue it, do you think Marcus Quinn and the Howard Family behind him won’t?"

Lana Shaw shivered, gritting her teeth in anger, "That beast in human clothing deceived me so terribly. Just thinking about marrying someone like him makes me feel nauseous all over. Sister-in-law, I’m afraid the Yarn Family won’t want to sever ties with us."

Leah sneered, "The Yarn Family has gone to great lengths, so naturally they won’t voluntarily sever ties with the Shaw Family. As long as you have it figured out, everything will be fine."

"But the engagement party is soon?" Lana Shaw was suddenly awakened by a jolt, realizing that getting over a broken heart was minor, but sorting out this mess was major.

Leah stood up, advising her not to panic, and made a call to Yeats Howard. After finding out that Marcus Quinn brought his fiancée over today, a hint of a cold smile flashed in her captivating peach blossom eyes as she said, "Don’t worry, there’s still time. Didn’t he imprison that young girl for a year and slander her for eloping? We’ll return the favor and treat him the same way. If the groom disappears from the engagement party and is accused of leaving with a strange woman, the Yarn Family will find it hard to throw mud at us in the future, though you’ll have to endure some gossip for a while."

"Sister-in-law, I’m not afraid." At this moment, the more Lana Shaw thought about it, the more apprehensive she became. She felt as if she had been under a spell all this time. Both Calliope Shaw and Leah weren’t keen on this marriage, but she insisted. Now, it seems fortunate that Leah didn’t give her consent, delaying the wedding date. Otherwise, she would have ruined her life.

Thinking of this, Lana Shaw’s tears rolled down again as she tightly held Leah’s hand, not knowing what to say.

"Good girl, don’t cry anymore. I’ll go call your cousin to make the arrangements. This is something your cousin needs to handle," Leah said with a smile, comforting Lana Shaw, as she went off to call Richard Shaw along with Calliope Shaw and the makeup artist.

The Shaw Family was preparing intensively on their end. Meanwhile, Marcus Quinn, having left the lounge, put the matter behind him and began searching for Adan. He couldn’t find Adan, but he did spot Yeats Howard, surrounded by a group of women, causing his expression to darken.

"Brother, I’m innocent," Yeats Howard was annoyed by the women clinging to him. Seeing Marcus Quinn’s darkened face, he knew something was wrong and quickly slipped away. Out of breath, he said, "I’ve been keeping an eye on your wife. She was just in the garden."

With a blank expression, Marcus Quinn entered the small garden looking for Adan, only to find her sitting on a garden bench, coldly responding to a man trying to strike up a conversation.

Marcus Quinn let out a small sigh of relief and hurried over, taking Adan’s hand and asking in a low voice, "We’ve told the hosts that we’re leaving, so let’s go home."

Ever since seeing Caspian Yarn, Adan had been in a daze. Even sitting in the small garden, she was constantly accosted, feeling both irritable and distressed. Seeing Marcus Quinn finally return, she felt unjustly treated and said, "Why did you take so long to come back?"

Marcus Quinn’s eyes shone brightly as he softly smiled and said, "I’m sorry, darling. I was wrong. Let’s go home."

After speaking, Marcus Quinn shot a cold glance at the flirtatious man who was still lingering, causing him to stiffen all over and hurriedly flee, nearly tripping in his haste.

Adan stood up, took two steps, and remembered that when Marcus made his apology, he had said that he was her husband, leaving her momentarily stunned.

Marcus Quinn, her husband?
