Tara stood frozen, almost doubting her own ears, but due to her nature, asking Marcus about it was impossible. Fortunately, Yeats followed behind and caught up. Seeing Tara, he instantly breathed a sigh of relief, saying: "Little sister-in-law, how did you disappear in the blink of an eye? Marcus was so anxious, it made me feel even more restless."

Tara’s face slightly blushed, showing a hint of color, and said: "I just came here to sit for a bit, there were too many people just now, felt a bit stifling."

"That’s inevitable; everyone wants to show up at the Shaw Family’s wedding event, even if it’s just an engagement party," Yeats laughed nonchalantly, "Brother, since you’ve found her, my task is done, right?"

"Hmm. I’ll take Tara back first." Marcus nodded towards Yeats.

Yeats was taken aback, was it over just like that? Going home? Not attending the engagement party?

Yeats desperately made eye signals to Marcus, but the man seemed oblivious, only escorting Tara back to the courtyard.

Yeats scratched his head, received a call from Leah, and suddenly had a vague thought flash through his mind, thinking, damn, something big is about to happen.

Shortly after Marcus and Tara left, and just before the engagement party officially started, it was discovered that the Yarn Family’s young master was missing. The last eyewitnesses and surveillance footage showed him walking away with a young woman, leaving Miss Shaw alone at the engagement party, causing an uproar when it came out.

The Yarn Family is merely a second-rate wealthy family from Seacoast; to come to the Imperial City and embarrass the Shaw Family like this? Such boldness – there’s no choice but to be impressed!

At the engagement party that day, Lana cried uncontrollably, and the faces of the Shaw Family’s third branch turned livid with anger. The Yarn Family’s parents nearly knelt on the ground begging for forgiveness and sent people everywhere to search for Caspian. The engagement party turned into the biggest joke in Imperial City. That day, Vice Admiral Shaw stormed off in fury, and it was Mrs. Shaw who held the fort, ordering Lana to be sent home. All members of the Shaw Family left for home, leaving only the Yarn Family to clean up the mess, begging everyone to wait a little longer.

People sneered, the Shaw Family members all left, what else to wait for? So everyone, full of gossip, eagerly gathered in small groups. Rumors flew all over town.

Leah accomplished her task and resigned, only sending Lana home before getting into her car. Vice Admiral Shaw, who had left earlier, waited in the car. Seeing his wife arrive, he ordered the driver to head back to Shaw Mansion.

"Woodenhead, my shoulders are sore." Leah got into the car, shedding her image as the Vice Admiral’s wife, and with her pretty peach blossom eyes, she playfully said.

"I’ll rub your shoulders for a bit, why did it take so long to return?" the man asked in a deep voice.

"The Yarn Family were nearly clinging onto the Shaw Family’s leg, begging us not to leave while you stormed off in anger. I had to be a bit more tactful," Leah smiled with half-closed peach blossom eyes.

Richard saw her with that clever fox look, so much like grandma, that he couldn’t help but smirk, leaning in to kiss her luscious red lips, forgetting altogether to rub her shoulders.

Leah hurriedly pushed him away, charmingly blinking her eyes, saying: "No, we’re going back to Shaw Mansion soon, and there’s a whole house of people waiting for an explanation. Don’t mess up my makeup."

Vice Admiral Shaw: "..."

Finally having a day off and yet unable to nestle at home with his wife, having run around, now he had to face a full house of people, helping to resolve household matters.

The man sighed in defeat, continued rubbing her shoulders, asking: "How did you know Caspian would surely be deceived?"

An hour prior, after Marcus took Tara and left, Leah dispatched someone to contact Caspian, inviting him under the guise of Tara Chase to secretly meet, or else disrupt the engagement party on the spot. Caspian believed it was true, thus falling into their trap.

Leah smirked, leaning against the man’s broad chest, lazily saying: "Yeats said Miss Chase is very beautiful, and there’s this male weakness of wanting power and status, while also desiring a beautiful girl. He genuinely likes Tara Chase; otherwise, if he had ruthlessly disposed of Tara or sold her abroad, we would have nothing to prove this deed. Since he didn’t harm the young girl, naturally he wants the best of both worlds, otherwise, why imprison her in such a remote place?"

Thus, it can be said that Caspian was harmed by his own actions. He ultimately wasn’t ruthless enough, nor sufficiently bold. His ambition and desire were too strong, wanting everything but ending up with nothing.

"Mind you, it’s also thanks to Marcus that we’re lucky; Marcus actually saved Tara Chase and has such connections with the Howard Family, or else it would’ve been a mess afterward." Richard spoke gravely, recalling the Yarn Family’s deeds, a chill flickered in his eyes.
