the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart
Chapter 1659 - 1600: Caught Off Guard Getting the Marriage Certificate (2)
The Zamora Family heard about Elowen Duncan’s situation, and as if a pie had fallen from the sky, they hurried over. Thus, the Zamora Family coincidentally arrived at the same time as the people from the Civic Bureau.
Annie and Marcus Quinn both changed into white shirts. Annie dabbed on some foundation and did light makeup herself. Seeing Marcus standing by and watching her, she gestured for him to come over and smilingly applied her moisturizer and foundation on him.
"Don’t move, or your face will look like a mess. This stuff can’t be removed without makeup remover." Annie noticed the man stiffen, his tense muscles visible even through the white shirt, making her blush slightly. She said fiercely, "If you don’t wear makeup, who knows, the wedding photos might come out looking like black and white ghosts."
It was Marcus’s first time wearing makeup, and as the girl’s soft fingers dabbed and stroked his face, he felt an itchy sensation that reached his heart. He had to muster all his self-control, watching her face so close, and completely surrendered to her whims.
Annie only applied a bit of foundation to the scarred areas to soften the scars. The other areas couldn’t be covered anyway, and turning him into a pretty boy wasn’t appealing. She preferred the masculine and rugged Marcus. Aside from the scar on his brow and his slightly darker skin tone, there was no need for alterations elsewhere. With his straight eyebrows, prominent nose, and sharply defined facial features, he exuded a strong masculine allure.
"All done." Annie said with a smile, then watched as the man reached out to wrap his arm around her waist, lowering his head to fiercely capture her lips.
Annie was breathless from his increasingly deep kisses. Her small hand traced along the man’s arm, feeling his firm, powerful muscles, and she unconsciously gave a little squeeze, eliciting a muffled grunt from him.
Marcus was burning all over. He had intended to punish her but ended up punishing himself instead.
The man suddenly released her, his gaze deep as ink. His large, hot hand was still pressed against her waist. In a hoarse voice, he said, "Let’s continue tonight, hmm?"
Annie’s face was bright red. Seeing Marcus’s dark gaze, her heart raced involuntarily. She wasn’t an innocent girl; she understood what Marcus was implying. Getting married naturally meant living as husband and wife. Her inner self shrieked: Ahhh!
"Marcus, Annie, come on out." Yeats Howard called loudly from the courtyard.
The ambiguous atmosphere between the two was finally broken. Marcus reached out to pick up the now-softened Annie, releasing her soft body with some difficulty. Once they settled these people and things, he was determined to hold his wife close for three days and nights!
Marcus brought Annie out to find the Civic Bureau staff with the official seal had arrived. The two staff members were chatting with Yeats, almost raising him up to the heavens with praise.
"What’s going on, comrade?" Elowen’s father sent two nephews up to ask questions.
Yeats rolled his eyes, ignoring them completely.
The Civic Bureau staff didn’t pay attention either. Seeing the young couple in matching outfits, both wearing white shirts, the girl pure and pretty, the man strong and solid, the shirt slightly strained, obviously indicating an enviable physique.
"Are you two here for registration?" The Civic Bureau staff warmly smiled, recognizing the influential young couple whose connection made the leaders call for home service.
"Yes, it’s us."
"Let’s take the wedding photo first."
The staff quickly busied themselves, taking pictures, registering, stamping, and successfully issuing the marriage certificates!
Elowen’s father stood aside in shock, watching as Marcus and Annie married with just their ID cards?
"Oh no, we didn’t buy any wedding candies!" Yeats laughed so broadly that his mouth nearly reached his ears as the two received their red certificates, acting as if it were his own wedding. Then, slapping his thigh, he exclaimed.
"I’ll go out to buy some later. No wedding candies, but we’ve got fruits." Marcus said, heading to the fridge for a bag of Cherries. A couple of days ago, Yeats had brought over two boxes. He had eaten an entire bag himself, leaving one more.
Finally, the two grinning Civic Bureau staff left carrying a 5-kg bag of cherries.
"Damn, these fruits are special supply, and there aren’t many boxes left at home." Yeats lamented with heartache.
The newly-wedded couple, holding their red certificates, were still immersed in the joy of marriage registration, adapting to their new roles and oblivious to matters of food.
Elowen’s father, seeing them marry right under his nose without a word, turned livid and sardonically said, "Marcus, you got married without telling me? Do you still see me as your father? Forgot about your dad just because you got a wife; how could you become like this?"
