The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2416: So It Turns Out He Was Just Benefiting from Nathalie
Sadam Vinson had always valued his image, but this time he was in an unprecedented state of disarray.
He knew the area wasn’t safe, so he prepared to take a deep breath and run further, aiming to find a crowded place to borrow a phone and contact Amadeus and the others.
As he thought this, he turned his head to comfort the old man on his back: "Mr. Fuller, please bear with it a little longer. I’ll find someone to take you to the hospital soon."
"Put me down, you don’t need to worry about me," Nicholas Fuller, aged and in pain, had turned pale and looked like he couldn’t hold on any longer.
Sadam Vinson saw his face and grew more anxious. But he was unfamiliar with this area and could only try his best to hide and take the alleyways.
While at a loss, not knowing which way to go, a voice sounded behind him: "You are... Nathalie Quinlan’s friend?"
In such circumstances, especially in a cold, dark alley, having someone speak suddenly behind you would scare anyone half to death.
He warily turned around with Nicholas Fuller on his back and saw a young man standing at the alley’s entrance. The young man had a handsome, gentle appearance, holding a bag of fruit. It seemed he had just returned from shopping, wearing slippers, suggesting his home was nearby.
"You?" After thinking for a moment, Sadam Vinson finally remembered: "You are Nathalie’s colleague at The First Research Institute?!"
Williansen Barness nodded, already noticing the nearly unconscious Nicholas Fuller on his back. His face changed slightly, dropping the fruit to the ground, and quickly ran over to support Nicholas Fuller, exclaiming: "Director."
Nicholas Fuller was drenched in sweat and barely conscious.
Although Williansen Barness didn’t understand the situation, he vaguely sensed they were in danger and said to Sadam Vinson: "My home is nearby, bring the director to my place to take cover... I’ll help you contact Nathalie!"
"Okay." Sadam Vinson knew him, and with Nicholas Fuller’s condition looking grim, they needed to address the wound quickly, or it would be bad news if it got infected, especially at Fuller’s age.
He aided Williansen Barness in taking Nicholas Fuller to his home. Before entering, he paused and looked at the young man who had generously stepped in to help, unable to resist saying: "Thanks a lot this time!"
With a key, Williansen Barness opened the door. His home was in an old tube-like building, suggesting the poor surroundings and his family’s situation were clear.
Nevertheless, he seemed completely indifferent to these factors, wearing clean and neatly washed clothes. He merely nodded, responding succinctly, "No need to thank me. I’m with The First Research Institute; it’s only right to help when the director’s in danger."
"Besides..."
Williansen Barness looked at him with dark eyes, neither arrogant nor humble: "Nathalie once helped me. You’re her friend, so you’re also my friend."
Sadam Vinson didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, realizing he benefited from knowing Nathalie...
But he didn’t have time to say more.
Williansen Barness had already opened the door, stepping aside to make a path, calmly saying: "Get in quickly. My mom is home. You can use her phone to contact Nathalie. I’ll head out to get disinfecting alcohol for the director!"
Sadam Vinson knew it was dangerous outside, but he thought since Williansen Barness was unrelated to them and local, he probably wouldn’t attract attention.
Nicholas Fuller’s wound needed disinfection first.
He stopped hesitating, telling Barness: "Be careful yourself."
"I know." Williansen Barness quickly instructed Mrs. Barness and took his wallet, heading out to buy medicine for Nicholas Fuller.
