The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2435: Amadeus: Get Lost
"I..." Marco Lordon felt a heavy pressure descending, making it hard for him to breathe.
This immense sense of oppression was very similar to what Khendy Lordon often made him feel, the kind of oppressive mockery from a superior.
Marco Lordon was so overwhelmed that he couldn’t lift his head, forced to awkwardly avoid the man’s sharp gaze: "This matter has nothing to do with Zevaney Kingsley."
"Oh, so someone from the Garland Family approached you?" Amadeus Yancey looked at him with a hint of a smile, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. He didn’t believe Zevaney hadn’t approached Marco, just didn’t bother to expose it: "Do you know the whole story, or what Nathan Garland is really up to?"
Marco instinctively looked at him again: "I..." He had heard some ’inside information,’ but many specific details were unclear.
Amadeus’s smile slightly restrained, his sharp gaze almost piercing through him: "You know nothing, yet you have the audacity to come here."
Marco felt like a fool standing here, wishing he could find a place to hide under the mocking gaze of the other.
"Never judge others without understanding their hardships!" Amadeus didn’t coddle him, squinting slightly, his eyes as dark as ink: "If no one in the Lordon Family has taught you this principle, I don’t mind teaching you the ways of the world in place of your parents."
Marco still stood there, unable to recover for a long time.
Amadeus was already at the driver’s seat, opened the car door, and looked at him with aristocratic leisure, speaking indifferently: "Get lost."
"..." Marco’s handsome face instantly turned bright red, clenching his fists, instinctively glancing at the girl in the car.
Nathalie Quinlan showed no reaction, seemingly engrossed in her phone, not even sparing him a glance.
Her reaction showed she didn’t consider Marco worth noticing.
Marco looked at her, then at the plainly impatient man, feeling a burning shame on his face, as if he came to be reprimanded without any means to retort, with an intense sense of unease surging within.
He dared not stay any longer, hesitantly casting frequent glances at the girl in the car, before hastily leaving the hospital.
...
Amadeus watched his departing figure until Marco was far away.
Only then did he expressionlessly withdraw his gaze, open the car door, and got back in.
"Has he left?" Nathalie raised her head and looked at the man fastening her seatbelt.
When Amadeus first let her in the car, he specifically closed all the windows; inside, she couldn’t quite hear what Marco was saying outside, nor did she want to hear it.
After fastening his own seatbelt, Amadeus turned the car around and drove out of the hospital gate, giving a sound of acknowledgment: "Young Lordon had some matters and went back first."
Nathalie looked at him with a complex expression, resisting the urge to blurt out: Wasn’t it you who told him to leave?
But seeing the man’s well-defined side profile and prominent nose, she silently withdrew her gaze, forcefully swallowing the words back.
She had no interest in Marco, nor had she thought that he would seek her out to plead for Nathan Garland.
If she had known earlier that Marco was seeking her due to Nathan’s matter, she probably wouldn’t have bothered to get out of the car, she would just wind up the window and leave.
Instead of getting off for Khendy’s sake, listening to him talk and wasting her own time.
The black off-road vehicle smoothly sped down the road, the air conditioner running well.
Feeling irritated, Nathalie opened the car window to let the outside wind blow across her face, the comfortable breeze sweeping over her hair, slightly easing some of her restless emotions.
