The Villain Reborn as Game's Final Boss
Chapter 411 Tsk
"I don’t know why the headmaster has taken an interest in you, not that I can’t understand him. You sure are an interesting person, but—"
Zenur paused midway as he shifted his eyes to the left where... there was nothing.
It appeared like he was staring into the open air, but I knew that wasn’t the case.
"Well, I guess that is it."
Hm?
Now, this had managed to spark my curiosity.
"Had the headmaster passed some order?"
That was the only possible explanation for Zenur’s sudden change in attitude.
"Just remember my advice—or suggestion, whatever one may call it."
Turning his back to me, the bald instructor began to walk away.
"Talk with your father once... it will be helpful for you."
With that said, the instructor disappeared from my view.
I could have followed him and asked more questions, but on second thought... that might have made me appear weak in his eyes—
Not that I cared for it, but still... my body refused to move.
Why would Zenur even want me to talk with Castor?
Aside from being my father and the duke to a powerful duchy... I didn’t think Castor had any other identities... at least none that I knew.
And... why would he even care about what I was doing, as in the game, Castor had never once made any efforts to reconcile with Kael, and neither did the guy ever have any intentions to crown me as the heir once again.
Still... Zenur’s words for some reason kept coming back to me.
I knew most of the intricacies involved in the war between the vampires and the elves... but the way the bald instructor had spoken to me made me second-guess my knowledge from the game.
***
"Did he say that?"
"He did."
I responded to Diana’s question, making her place the index finger of her right hand near to her lips as the girl was lost in deep thought.
"As far as I remember, the Frosts do not have any direct relation with the vampires or elves in general, but if Zenur had warned you, then I think you should take his advice."
Hm?
I subconsciously raised a brow to which Diana simply smiled.
"Zenur is what one could call a heroic Knight in shining golden armour. He is strong but his morals make him weak."
Well... I had come to the same conclusion—
"Do you know why despite his strength he still stays in this academy, willing to teach some kids?"
"I... don’t."
I mean, there was no way for me to know about it.
Diana stayed silent for a moment, as she observed the nearby students before focusing her gaze back on me.
"He wants to stay away from his potential."
"..."
Stay away from his potential, huh.
Someone else in my shoes wouldn’t have understood what Diana wanted to say, but having talked with Zenur just moments earlier, and listening to his view on the world politics—
"What relation does he have with the headmaster?"
I hadn’t been able to get the answer from Zenur himself, but seeing that Diana knew quite a bit about him... it was worth trying.
Diana on her part stared into my eyes with an amused expression on her face.
"You are quick to catch on to things—"
"Just tell me."
I had no interest in letting the parasite play with me.
Since the visit to the Levaith duchy had been abruptly put to an end, resulting in us returning to the academy, Diana... the parasite had become somewhat annoying to deal with.
Her jokes never seemed to end, and the girl would always find some chance to play with my patience... testing them to their extreme boundaries.
Thinking about the Levaith Duchy... the situation sure had become complicated for Ashlyn.
Every news outlet out there had covered the news of Arnold Levaith having assassinated one of the top officials amongst the authorities, and that had led to fears of a greater war between the Veltran Empire and the authorities... if in case the empire decides to align with the duchy.
House Veltra had so far taken a neutral approach on the situation, taking the frustration of both sides into consideration, but Damian wasn’t someone to let go of such an opportunity.
The guy knew when to strike and where, despite all odds against him, and so far... he seemed to be doing reasonably well.
Still, that was the battle outside the academy, and its results were different from what was happening in the academy.
Ashlyn... her position as the potential student council president had taken quite the hit, though my presence had helped settle the backlash by quite the margin.
And Ashlyn was certainly quite grateful for that, though the girl didn’t express her gratitude to me.
Well... that was fine by me.
I wasn’t petty enough to be offended over such things, as despite her not saying anything in words... I knew that my actions had landed well within her soul.
"Zenur Daithra is the younger brother of Nemur, and is one of the strongest Immortals on Jutan, standing at the very peak of his rank. Still... he didn’t want his brother to use him as a political tool, which was why the guy is using this academy as a shield for himself."
The words made me think over all the interactions that I had with the bald instructor during my time at the academy, and... honestly, he appeared completely different from the headmaster.
"He isn’t the only one. The Daithra brothers have a sister as well, and she too works at the academy."
My reaction to the revelation was quite neutral, as I considered it normal for the siblings to work at the academy that had been founded by their Sovereign brother—
"And who exactly is this sister of theirs?"
Though I wasn’t surprised by Diana’s words, it didn’t mean that I wasn’t curious—
"Her name’s Audrey, and... she is the doctor that works at the infirmary."
Audrey, huh.
I didn’t remember having met a doctor named Audrey, though that was acceptable, as my interactions with the staff at the infirmary were limited.
"Anyways, my point for revealing his identity was that... the guy is someone you can trust."
"..."
"Not completely, but he’s far better than many people in the world that one could call their trusted aides."
Diana gently raised her hand, an action that didn’t go unnoticed by me, but I ignored it as I thought about Zenur’s advice once again.
Should I really visit my family—
"Just meet Castor... what’s the worst that can happen."
"..."
I felt a warm touch ruffling through my hair—
Tsk.
