The Viltrumite Across the Worlds

Chapter 331: Leaving the Marvel Universe (EC)

"You are..."

The enormous god who seemed like the embodiment of the cosmos itself froze when he saw Jovian appear before him.

By all rights, no one should have been able to enter this place.

And yet someone had.

As the embodiment of all things and the universe itself, Eternity found this deeply troubling.

"I want you to grant my wish!"

Jovian looked directly at the colossal deity and stated his purpose without hesitation.

"What is your wish?"

Eternity stared at Jovian.

"I want to replace you."

As Jovian spoke, he placed one hand against Eternity and began voraciously absorbing the power inside him.

"Oh..."

Eternity looked troubled as he felt his power continuously draining away.

Eternity was an abstract entity born at the moment of the Big Bang. He represented the physical manifestation of time throughout the entire multiverse, the collective consciousness of every living being within it, and the living embodiment of the cosmos itself.

He was the embodiment of everything.

Yet Jovian was now greedily devouring his power. If this continued, perhaps Eternity would eventually become nothing more than a part of Jovian.

"Please let him go!"

Just as Eternity found himself unable to escape Jovian’s grasp despite his growing concern, a woman appeared beside the two of them.

She had golden skin covered in strange markings.

She was Infinity, another abstract entity born at the moment of the Big Bang. She represented the physical manifestation of the totality of space throughout the universe and could freely manipulate every dimension and all space within the Marvel Multiverse.

She was also Eternity’s counterpart. Eternity and Infinity were fundamentally two halves of the same whole.

"What exactly are you trying to do?!"

Eternity finally sensed that something was wrong.

He had the distinct impression that Jovian’s goal wasn’t as simple as devouring his manifestation within this particular universe.

Eternity represented the entire Marvel Multiverse. The version of him in this universe was merely one tiny portion of Eternity’s immeasurable power.

But if Jovian completely devoured this Eternity, Jovian would take his place and become the universe itself.

"I already told you. I’m going to devour you, then replace you."

Jovian looked at Eternity seriously.

"Replace me?!"

"But it’s nowhere near time for a new cosmos to be born!"

Eternity was getting a headache. He scratched his completely bald head before checking the time.

He still had an incredibly long time left before his shift ended.

Only after surviving all of that could he finally leave this universe freely, just like the previous incarnations of the cosmos before him.

"I can’t let anyone replace me right now. If that’s what you want, you should go find them instead..."

As Eternity spoke, one illusion after another appeared before Jovian.

There was the Second Cosmos, the first Multiverse ever born and the origin of the Omega Force.

Then came the Third Cosmos, creator of Lifebringer One, the legendary first hero.

There were the creators of magic, the weavers of illusion, the inventors of science, and the builders of countless junctions throughout existence...

"Or perhaps you should go find that guy outside."

The image shifted again.

Far beyond the endless depths of the universe stood a being radiating boundless power as it observed the universe occupied by Eternity.

The first incarnation of existence itself, the First Firmament.

"Anyone but me."

"My current job is basically holding up the sky. I can’t leave."

Eternity shook his head.

He had to remain at his post. If anything happened to him, the entire universe would be thrown into chaos, and then an even bigger boss would inevitably come down to investigate.

"That’s fine..."

"I’ll replace you eventually."

Jovian continued greedily absorbing Eternity’s power.

"Actually, you can keep absorbing as much as you want..."

Eternity scratched his cheek and then simply ignored Jovian.

At this point, Jovian had essentially established a connection to him and was continuously siphoning away his power.

Eternity didn’t care.

His name was Eternity, after all.

And just like his counterpart, Infinity, his power was practically limitless.

Once Jovian had successfully connected himself to Eternity, he left.

He had other things to do.

The entire reason he had sought out Eternity and established this connection was to strengthen his ties to the Marvel Universe.

That way, even if some overwhelmingly powerful entity discovered him again and tossed him out of the universe like a piece of garbage, he would still have a coordinate that allowed him to find his way back.

With the coordinate problem taken care of, Jovian finally left the Marvel Universe and returned to his own multiverse.

It was time to deal with all the miscellaneous problems scattered throughout his worlds.

"The One-Punch Man world!"

"Hmph!"

After Jovian divided up his multiverse, the One-Punch Man world had become one of the countless universes contained within him.

Tatsumaki was currently flying through the sky just as she always had, occasionally dealing with problems that arose around the world.

"Long time no see!"

As Tatsumaki floated arrogantly through the air, an incredibly familiar voice suddenly sounded beside her ear.

"Jovian?! You actually remembered how to come back?!"

The moment Tatsumaki saw Jovian, she snorted and shouted angrily.

"How long has it been since you came back?! Don’t you know how much I’ve missed you? Stop disappearing without warning all the time!"

Tatsumaki’s thoughts continued echoing clearly in Jovian’s ears.

"Didn’t I come back to see you?"

Jovian smiled and gently patted Tatsumaki on the head.

"Who asked you to come see me?!"

"And what’s that supposed to mean?! Do you think I’m a child?!"

Tatsumaki snorted and glared at Jovian indignantly.

"Heh..."

Jovian merely chuckled.

What he heard in his ears, however, was something very different.

"At least you had enough sense to come back and see me! But don’t think coming back to see me makes me happy or anything. I’m only extremely happy, that’s all!"

Jovian listened to Tatsumaki’s inner voice as it continued ringing through his mind.

So this was what being a tsundere looked like.

"Jovian, aren’t you going to visit everyone else?"

"They’ve been waiting for you too."

Tatsumaki looked at him.

"No. There’s no reason for me to visit the others individually."

Jovian shook his head.

"Heh, so I really am special! I knew I was different!"

Tatsumaki’s heart immediately soared with joy. Even the angry expression on her face softened considerably.

"Hmph."

Although she was practically celebrating inside, Tatsumaki maintained her aloof expression.

As the strongest hero currently serving the Hero Association and the greatest esper in the world, she had an image to maintain.

"Heh..."

Jovian simply smiled.

Meanwhile, in the main universe, the world of Invincible...

Jovian appeared beside Atom Eve.

Eve was standing before Rex Splode’s grave with a bouquet of flowers in her hands.

"Hey!"

Jovian greeted her.

"Hey."

Eve clearly hadn’t expected to see Jovian here.

"We really were immature back then."

Jovian glanced at Rex’s grave and smiled faintly.

"We were."

Eve nodded, assuming Jovian was talking about her as well.

"So, why did you come back this time? Are you planning on leaving for another world again?"

Eve looked at Jovian inquisitively.

"I’m not planning on leaving again anytime soon."

Jovian shook his head.

"Hmm..."

"Well, whatever the reason, welcome home."

After thinking for a moment, Eve gave Jovian a heartfelt welcome.

"I’m pretty happy to welcome myself home too."

Jovian gently took Eve’s hands, lowered his head, and kissed her.

The two embraced and kissed right in front of Rex’s grave.

For a moment, the entire atmosphere practically screamed freedom and the American way.

"Allen! I mean, Rex... Watch closely..."

Jovian glanced at the gravestone with amusement, making the joke entirely for his own entertainment.

Of course, that was all it was.

As far as Jovian was concerned, practically everything was just another game to him.

If Rex somehow resurrected right now and saw what was happening in front of his grave, he might immediately die all over again from sheer rage.

In any case, Jovian had a wonderful time.

In the world of One Piece...

Jovian stood atop the Holy Land Mary Geoise, staring silently across the endless ocean.

"What are you thinking about?"

Imu stood behind Jovian and watched him as he stared into the distance.

"A lot of things..."

"Complicated things."

With that, Jovian took Imu by the hand and left, continuing his party elsewhere.

In the world of Fairy Tail...

"I didn’t expect you to be such a beautiful woman."

Jovian sat in front of Selene, the Moon Dragon God, smiling faintly.

"I can only claim to be a beautiful dragon."

Selene emphasized her true identity.

"Hahaha..."

Jovian laughed.

"Right, right. You’re just a beautiful dragon."

He happily played along.

Beautiful women had always received special privileges.

And really, who wouldn’t love a gigantic fox-like dragon with nine enormous fluffy tails?

"..."

Selene felt her fur stand on end beneath Jovian’s gaze.

There was something dangerous in his eyes.

She had the distinct impression that he might reach out and start stroking her fluffy tails at any moment.

"What are you afraid of?"

Jovian noticed the fear in Selene’s eyes.

"N-Nothing..."

Selene shook her head.

"Good. Then there’s nothing to worry about."

Jovian smiled, reached out, grabbed one of Selene’s enormous tails, and began enthusiastically stroking its fur with an expression of pure enjoyment.

"..."

Selene remained silent.

She very much wanted to say something.

But after seeing the same man punch straight through the Fire Dragon God, Ignia, she had already abandoned any thought of resisting.

In the world of Dragon Raja...

Cassell College had erected a bronze statue in honor of its greatest principal.

Yes, the students of Cassell College had voluntarily raised an enormous bronze statue of Jovian.

"I suppose I’m one of the few people lucky enough to have countless people worshiping me before I’ve even died."

Jovian rather liked the statue.

After all, it was a heartfelt gift from his students.

Of course, those damn students had originally intended to build a statue of Anjou.

Unfortunately for them, Jovian had stopped that plan and replaced Anjou’s face with his own.

"Looks like these people still don’t understand the situation they’re in. I suppose they need another lesson."

"I should make sure they properly understand the difference between our respective levels."

Jovian sat behind the desk in the principal’s office and lightly shook a small handbell.

Almost immediately, a red-haired young woman and a beautiful girl with long black hair entered the room.

"I have a new assignment for both of you. It’s very simple. Beat up any students I don’t like, and make sure no one at this college dares slander me."

Jovian issued his orders to his two beautiful assistants.

After all, Jovian was the most perfect being in the entire world.

How could anyone possibly slander someone as perfect as him?

Clearly, this matter required a thorough investigation.

"As you command!"

The red-haired young woman and the dark-haired beauty bowed slightly before Jovian, then left the principal’s office.

Jovian could already imagine the students outside being brutally beaten by his two assistants.

Everyone attending Cassell College was supposedly one of the elite.

There was certainly no shortage of Hybrids with exceptionally powerful bloodlines, including those whose bloodline purity exceeded ordinary A-rank Hybrids.

But even these supposedly powerful A-rank Hybrids became utterly helpless when confronted by those two seemingly delicate young women.

And there was a very simple reason for that.

One of those girls was Erii Uesugi, whom Jovian had remade into the White Emperor, the White King.

As for the beautiful dark-haired girl who looked almost like an elf, her name was Xia Mi.

She was the infamous King of Earth and Mountain.

Both of them were mighty Dragon Kings.

Before a pure-blooded Dragon King, no matter how prestigious a Hybrid’s bloodline might be, a Hybrid was still just a Hybrid.

...

In the Ultraman universe...

Daigo had finally returned from his training.

But when he came back, everything had changed.

"Daigo, this is my child. Let me introduce you..."

Just as Daigo was wondering what had happened, he heard someone calling his name.

Then he saw an Ultra warrior with imposing horns walking toward him.

"You are..."

Daigo stared at the unfamiliar Ultra warrior in confusion.

"He’s Marie’s and mine!"

Before Daigo could recover from his surprise, a brilliant light appeared before him.

The light was extraordinarily warm, and at the same time, strangely familiar.

"Jovian?!"

Daigo froze when he recognized it.

"Of course..."

The being who had gathered the greatest powers of light in the universe nodded.

As for what this Ultra warrior actually looked like, the radiance surrounding Jovian was simply too intense.

Daigo could no longer make out anything except his identity.

On that day, before Daigo’s eyes, Jovian had become pure light.

"This really is incredible."

Daigo scratched the back of his head, marveling at everything before him.
