The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Chapter 197 - 138: Cultivating to Level 1, Signing the Wizard Contract

Inside the Dark Tower.

The Gloom Wizard sat in her study chair, leisurely dangling her little feet. Her small hand held a feather pen, writing ceaselessly on a blank sheepskin scroll.

The voice of a mature woman spoke up. "Among the new students of the Lower House, there are three designated as a Child of the Dark: Wang Ya Harak, Rod Stark, and Fox Granger. In terms of potential, Rod Stark’s should be the highest, considering both his innate talent and power, as well as the support from the Stark Clan behind him. I believe once he fully matures, his chances of advancing to an Official Wizard are quite high."

"Next is Fox Granger, who follows the Wizard Path of a Black Wizard. Our investigation shows that he is naturally sensitive to Soul Bodies and spiritual matters. He possesses more outstanding abilities than other Black Wizards, and his power increases at an extremely fast rate. He’s a promising candidate for becoming an Official Wizard. Under the Dark Cultivation Plan, he’ll likely be ready for the first Secret Realm. His potential ranks second."

The Gloom Wizard set down her feather pen. Her gaze fell upon the figure in the room’s shadows as she spoke. "Purple Nightmare, I don’t particularly like people who act on their own authority. You should know why I keep you by my side."

"I hope you won’t betray the trust I’ve placed in you."

The Gloom Wizard’s tone was placid, but cold sweat broke out on the forehead of the figure in the shadows. Just as she was about to speak, she heard the Gloom Wizard say something in a surprised tone.

"For Wang Ya Harak to defeat a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice with the power of a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice... that’s a first in the Dark Land." A smile appeared on the Gloom Wizard’s face.

The Purple Nightmare Wizard’s gaze flickered, clearly shaken by this news. The Gloom Wizard’s next words made her bow her head even lower.

"It seems the Illusory Dream Wizard has taken on a fine disciple. Wang Ya Harak... what an interesting little fellow." An image of Wang Ya’s face and figure surfaced in the Gloom Wizard’s mind. She continued, "Purple Nightmare, I will now arrange the priority levels for the Dark Cultivation Plan. For now, designate Wang Ya Harak as Level 1. Rod Stark and Fox Grangai will be Level 2."

"As for the slots for Level 3 Wizard Apprentices and Extreme Wizard Apprentices, those will be decided by a contest of power in the Battlefield. Only the winners will be qualified to earn a place."

"Go make the arrangements for the subsequent procedures of the Dark Cultivation Plan." The Gloom Wizard picked up her feather pen and resumed her writing.

The figure in the shadows began to retreat, finally vanishing from the room.

Long purple hair cascaded down her back. She wore a purple, human-faced mask that concealed her true features, not even revealing her eyes.

The Purple Nightmare Wizard walked out of the Dark Tower. Instead of entering the main headquarters, she used a Teleportation Array to travel to a Wizard City nearby.

The many Wizards guarding the Teleportation Array lowered their heads in reverence when they saw the Purple Nightmare Wizard appear. They shouted in unison, "Esteemed Master Purple Nightmare Wizard, welcome back."

The Purple Nightmare Wizard ignored these City Lord Mansion Wizards and headed straight for the Inner City Area of the Wizard City.

This was the Stark Clan’s residence.

Upon receiving the news, Puni Stark personally came out to welcome the Purple Nightmare Wizard inside.

The Purple Nightmare Wizard shared some information with him about the Dark Cultivation Plan, staying for about an hour.

As she was leaving, she added a reminder, "This was a decision made personally by the Gloom Wizard. What happens next depends on your arrangements. If I find out who the School Lineage selects to compete, I will inform you in advance."

"Wang Ya Harak," Puni Stark muttered the name, his expression unreadable.

.......

「Illusory Dream Tower, Three-Layered Space.」

Wang Ya walked out of his study. Much of the color had returned to his face, and the weakness that had plagued him for the past few days was gone.

The Particle Energy within his body was now incredibly abundant. As his Extraordinary Spiritual Power surged, an item on the desk inside the still-open study was drawn by an invisible hand and flew toward Wang Ya.

He snatched it from the air and tucked it into his sleeve.

It was a black key, one that could open a certain layer of space within the Illusory Dream Tower.

The Illusory Dream Wizard had sought him out personally to give it to him after his victory over Hades.

It was also a token, which he could use to travel to the Divine Blood Tower and have the Divine Blood Wizard forge a custom Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact for him.

Wang Ya had been stunned when he first heard this news.

To have an Official Wizard personally forge a custom Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact for him—this was an unbelievable privilege.

Even an Extreme Wizard Apprentice would never get such an opportunity.

They simply couldn’t offer the terms—be it Magic Stones or any other resources—that would persuade an Official Wizard to act. The two were not on the same level at all.

Wang Ya guessed that the Illusory Dream Wizard and the Divine Blood Wizard must have come to some sort of mutually beneficial arrangement, which had granted him this incredibly precious opportunity.

Still, Wang Ya was overjoyed. As for a primary Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact, his Shadow Slayer Blade was barely sufficient anymore.

Now that his power had reached that of a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice, he had to be careful not to be too forceful when injecting Particle Energy, lest he destroy the blade’s original energy conduction pathways. It forced him to hold back.
