The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Chapter 296: Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy, Toying with the Swelling

Victor didn’t hesitate for a second. As his Biological Force Field expanded, Particle Energy erupted, and a Middle-tier Witchcraft spell coalesced into a terrifying Wind Blade in his palm.

The figure that stepped out of the shadows wore a blue Wizard Robe. They had a neutral face and a cold gaze—it was none other than the Kelan Wizard.

A Particle Energy Shield enveloped her entire body. Her pupils reflected the sharp Wind Blade as it sliced through the air, carrying a shocking blast wave with it.

The Kelan Wizard extended her right hand. As her palm emerged from her sleeve, countless wisps of blue ribbon burst forth, filling the air like a spiderweb and clinging to every surface in the room.

They connected the ceiling, walls, and floor, weaving them into a world of blue spiderwebs that couldn’t be ignored.

The terrifying Wind Blade sliced through the wall, nearly causing the top floor of the Circular Tower to collapse. In the end, however, it was intercepted by the blue webbing and dissipated into Wind Element Particle Energy.

Victor’s figure vanished, his right hand grabbing Komore’s shoulder. If he still didn’t understand what was happening, he would be unworthy of his Power as an Extreme Wizard Apprentice.

‘A tough opponent!’

Victor frowned. He gave up on trying to take the strangely afflicted Komore away and instead extended his Particle Energy Shield to protect him.

His Biological Force Field collided with the expanding Biological Force Field of the unknown Extreme Wizard Apprentice. The entire floor shuddered under the intense wind pressure.

The extreme pressure created a piercing shriek of compressed air.

CRACK!

Cracks appeared on the walls, which looked as if they were about to collapse.

Both were Extreme Wizard Apprentices, their Biological Force Fields extending at least a hundred meters.

Although the Circular Tower was built to be extremely tall and had various Witch Arrays, they were mostly for maintaining the stability of the interior space.

A fierce battle between Wizards could cause the entire Circular Tower to collapse.

BOOM!

Another collision.

A thick cloud of dust filled the air, only to be blown away by a gust of wind, revealing the scene.

The Kelan Wizard was entwined in blue threads, which were in turn connected to even more fine blue lines.

These blue threads filled her Biological Force Field. This was her world, her Dream Territory.

All enemies and objects within her Dream Territory would fall under her control.

It was the effect of an incredibly domineering Dream Witchcraft and a Trait of her Dream Territory.

Victor’s expression was grim. His opponent was like a turtle in its shell. All the Witchcraft he cast simply vanished without a trace, pierced and absorbed by those blue threads.

Even when he managed to sever the blue threads, more would be generated in their place. It was an endless, extremely frustrating cycle.

If he tried to leave, he would be attacked immediately.

He wasn’t too worried about himself; he was fairly confident he could escape safely. The problem was the dead weight he was dragging along.

His master, Komore, had his eyes closed, his condition a mystery. His Spiritual Power and consciousness were in turmoil, yet they would periodically fall silent.

It was truly bizarre.

The auras of the two were locked in a stalemate. Any sudden move could lead to disastrous consequences.

Victor didn’t dare fight with his full strength. If his opponent found an opening and killed Komore, then even winning would be meaningless.

“Who are you? Why are you attacking us? What do you want?” Victor finally spoke after several rounds of combat with the Kelan Wizard.

“If you’re after Extraordinary Resources or something else, we can give it to you. Everything is negotiable.”

The Kelan Wizard remained expressionless, her face so stiff it looked as if she were wearing a mask.

In fact, it was a special mask—a unique, skin-tight mask modified from the Face of Residual Dreams, designed to alter her facial features and conceal her aura.

Her answer was simple. Under the control of her Extraordinary Spiritual Power, the blue threads surged toward Victor, transforming into a chaotic, dancing sea of blue.

Victor’s expression became utterly bleak. He didn’t have a single clue about his opponent’s motives or identity. He couldn’t even find any leads related to the day’s attack.

The few lucky Wizards in Licorice Camp who had survived were fleeing for their lives. Burning flames and rampaging Extraordinary Creatures were everywhere. The Beast Tide was terrifying; it had already overrun half of Licorice Camp. Even the Law Enforcement Wizards were powerless, only managing to slightly slow the Beast Tide’s advance.

“Look! Over there!”

Many Wizards noticed something strange at the Natural Ring Tower—the terrifying fluctuations of Particle Energy from the clash, and the oppressive pressure from the colliding Biological Force Fields.

Any Wizard who dared enter the battlefield would be crushed by the pressure of both Biological Force Fields.

Even Wizards of a similar Power level would find it troublesome and wouldn’t try to interfere.

“Extreme Wizard Apprentices are fighting chaotically… What on earth is happening to Licorice Camp? Why is something so terrible taking place?”

“Is Licorice Camp really going to be destroyed today? But it’s been here for over a hundred years! I finally managed to build a foundation for myself in Licorice Camp… my shop, my life’s work… it’s all being destroyed under the feet of those damned Extraordinary Creatures!”

“Wait… no way, there are more fluctuations from Extreme Wizard Apprentices fighting? Run! We can’t stay here anymore! If we get caught in the crossfire, we’re done for!”
