The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 295: Beast Tide Submerges Licorice Camp, What is the Strongest Level 3 Wizard Apprentice?
Komore remained calm, his exceptional combat instincts taking over as he began to analyze the key aspects of the situation.
The Wizard’s Ring on his finger glowed with a deep gray luster.
In the next moment, a special Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact appeared in his hand.
It was a slender Cross Sword, similar to the flexible steel foils used in fencing.
He merely slashed at the empty space before him.
A terrifying blast of Particle Energy erupted, forming an astonishing gray blade of light. The slash was so fast that it sent ripples through the void, directly shattering the pair of massive, white-glowing hands.
No, that wasn’t quite right. The gray blade of light possessed a special property. It seemed to be a unique form of Particle Energy, carrying high-frequency vibrations that caused things to collapse and shatter.
A cold sneer appeared on Komore’s face. “What a dull trick. Just like the Wizards in this Outer Zone—weak and low-tier.”
He had already noticed that something was wrong. This entire world was fake.
‘More accurately, I’m in a Dream Wizard’s Dream World—and inside my own dream, no less.’
A Dream Wizard had used Dream Witchcraft, trying to kill him inside the Dream World.
Powerful Dream Wizards could make the Dream Realm reflect reality, meaning that if they killed an enemy in a dream, the enemy would also die in the real world.
“With this kind of Witchcraft Ability, what power could you possibly have to kill me inside my own Dream Realm?”
Komore’s face was filled with mockery and disdain. Now that he had seen through the nature of this illusion, he had nothing to fear.
It wasn’t as if he had never dealt with a Dream Wizard before.
Even a Dream Wizard at the Official Wizard Level couldn’t make the Dream Realm reflect reality.
A dream was just a dream. Once it shattered, he would simply wake up, unharmed in the real world.
“Do you even have that Ability? This is my Dream World. I am the master here.”
As long as he could wake up from the Dream World, this unknown Dream Wizard with their unknown motives would be unable to affect him in any way.
The Oby Brothers and Victor could suppress any turmoil that might arise.
Gray Particle Energy erupted from Komore’s body. As a Direct Lineage Wizard of the Sack Clan, he naturally had access to more High-tier Extraordinary Knowledge ahead of time.
He had also mastered the clan’s Special Particle Energy.
This was one of the reasons he was confident in his status as the strongest Level 3 Wizard Apprentice in the Black Tower.
‘Still, for this unknown Dream Wizard to pull me into a Dream World without me even noticing… that’s already terrifying.’
Komore’s eyes turned cold as he devised a way to escape the Dream World.
CRACK!
Cracks spread across the ground inch by inch, shattering it into jagged fragments. A cloud of dust billowed out as Komore’s figure shot upward, hovering in midair. His Wizard Robe was also special, imbued with a permanent Witch Array Technique that formed a pair of Particle Energy wings on his back.
At the same time, it could generate a Particle Energy Shield to defend against Witchcraft.
This was a highly unusual method, seemingly a composite application of Witchcraft involving the Particle Energy Shield.
It was an approach that even the Dark Land had never attempted.
「In the real world, at the Circular Tower.」
Komore stood motionless on the balcony.
Victor, hidden in a shadowed corner of the balcony, didn’t notice anything unusual about Komore. He assumed his master was simply admiring the view as he often did.
He was well aware of the complex, conflicting emotions his master felt, but as a servant, he had no right to voice his own opinions.
He could only listen and obey.
Victor’s expression suddenly changed. As if sensing something, he gazed out beyond Licorice Camp.
His pupils contracted, his eyes filled with disbelief.
‘Are you kidding me?!’
Massive clouds of dust were rising from all directions around Licorice Camp, obscuring half the sky.
More importantly, the dust was accompanied by the thunderous sound of stomping feet and the roars of various Extraordinary Creatures. Some of them possessed an immense aura, reaching the level of High-tier Extraordinary Creatures.
The ground began to tremble, and even the Circular Tower started to shake.
This was a Beast Tide—and an utterly terrifying one at that.
Even if the concentration of natural particle energy in the Separation Land was suitable for the growth of Extraordinary Creatures, it shouldn’t have led to a rampaging Beast Tide.
Victor couldn’t understand it. Licorice Camp was protected by a circulating Witch Array, and Law Enforcement Wizards conducted regular Clearances of Extraordinary Creatures. There was simply no way a Beast Tide could have formed.
Unless… someone had intentionally triggered it!
BOOM!
A massive fireball erupted over Licorice Camp, followed by blazing flames, bursts of Particle Energy, and the casting of various Witchcraft spells. The quiet night was instantly thrown into what could only be described as pandemonium. Amid such chaos, the Law Enforcement Wizards were completely ineffective.
The Beast Tide had struck too suddenly, without any warning whatsoever. It had already broken through Licorice Camp’s defensive Witch Array and was attacking everything inside.
Both buildings and people were targets for the Extraordinary Creatures’ assault.
Hissing, charging, trampling… Leading the charge was a pack of High-tier Extraordinary Creatures, sweeping over everything in their path. No Wizard could stand against them.
Even if a spell managed to inflict some damage, more Extraordinary Creatures from behind would immediately fill the gap.
The end result was being swallowed by the Beast Tide, leaving not even a bone behind.
Every single one of the Extraordinary Creatures was more frenzied and terrifying than usual, even displaying traits they didn’t normally possess.
Their pupils were filled with black, bloodshot veins, giving them an exceptionally bizarre appearance.
Victor’s face darkened to an extreme, his gaze turning icy cold.
However, he did not act rashly, instead waiting for Komore’s command.
Gradually, Victor realized something was wrong. Komore still hadn’t reacted. Logically, a situation like this should have elicited some kind of response.
Suddenly, a look of horror crossed Victor’s face. He whipped his head around to look behind him. The aura of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice—a terrifying one!
‘I’m not completely confident I can take them!’
