The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Chapter 299: Burning Fire Attachment, Nothing is Impossible

  • Next Chapter

In truth, everything that had happened so far unfolded in just a single minute.

The reinforcement speed of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice was also incredibly fast. For those two, located in the valley of the Black Sun Ruins, returning to Licorice Camp would take only half a minute at full speed.

“Damn it, how could this be happening? Who is so audacious that they dare to attack Licorice Camp?”

“This isn’t the time for that! If anything happens to the Master, all three of us are finished.”

Two figures, wreathed in powerful Particle Energy fluctuations, streaked across the sky like meteors. The shockwaves they generated crushed everything along their path, deforming all objects beyond recognition.

It was Oby Duo and Oby Shao, rushing from the Black Sun Ruins toward Licorice Camp. Everything had happened so fast that they barely had time to react.

The Oby Brothers looked remarkably similar and could only be distinguished by their builds, which their names hinted at.

When they left the Black Tower, their very lives had been bound to Komore’s.

If Komore died, they too would have their lives claimed by a Curse Witchcraft.

“Wait… what is that?!”

Oby Duo came to a halt, staring in horror at the roiling clouds of dust churning up from the ground as they rapidly approached.

“So many Extraordinary Creatures… It’s a Beast Tide. How is that possible…”

Oby Shao also saw the situation clearly and gasped.

Under the moonlit night sky, amidst the swirling dust that filled the air, a vast, dark horde blotted out the landscape. Everything in its path was trampled into dust.

They wouldn’t have been too concerned if it were just an ordinary Beast Tide.

No matter how large its scale, they could have suppressed it in time.

But they could see terrifying creatures within the stampede, like Mountain Dragons and Thorn Dragons. These were overlords among Extraordinary Creatures, existences on par with Beast Kings.

The other High-tier Creatures were simply innumerable.

Even they would have to tread carefully in a situation like this.

“Damn it. This is a planned attack.”

Neither of them was a fool. They quickly pieced together the implications and the potential consequences of this Beast Tide’s appearance.

‘Licorice Camp has a Defense Witch Array that also serves to conceal its presence. It was established with the surrounding environment and the possibility of a Beast Tide in mind. We often led Wizards out to exterminate them. For a Beast Tide to happen now… this is no coincidence. It was definitely orchestrated by someone.’

What else could they do? They had no choice but to face it.

They could only hope the situation back at Licorice Camp hadn’t collapsed to a degree they dared not imagine.

Most importantly, nothing could happen to Komore. Otherwise, they were done for too.

In the night sky, a creature with black feathers spread its wings, blending into the darkness. It dripped a black, oil-like liquid that fell like Nectar upon the Extraordinary Creatures below, filling them with a frenzied energy. This substance enhanced their Power, for it contained Harak’s Biological Energy and the genetic fragments of Extraordinary Creatures.

It also stoked their bestial instincts; a little guidance was all it took to produce a tremendous effect.

At this point, Wang Ya no longer needed to directly manipulate the consciousness of the Extraordinary Creatures. Once a Beast Tide was triggered, not even the creatures themselves could control their actions.

Soon, Oby Duo and Oby Shao collided with the Beast Tide.

The Power of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice was truly formidable. The Power they unleashed actually managed to briefly halt the advance of the Beast Tide.

Harak flapped its wings, and the black, viscous liquid fell like a dark rain. Any Extraordinary Creature drenched by it went into a frenzy, roaring as they charged forward. Even if their bodies were torn apart, they would still try to take a bite out of the enemy.

Oby Duo and Oby Shao noticed this anomaly. When the bizarre black rain came into contact with their Particle Energy Shields, it sizzled away into black smoke.

Their gazes shot toward the sky, where they discovered Harak’s figure.

“It’s that avian Extraordinary Creature that’s causing this! It’s a Beast King, too.” Oby Duo’s eyes widened. ‘Since when are Beast Kings this common?’

Beast Kings were practically nonexistent in the Outer Zone, though they were slightly more common in the Inner Zone.

In all their years in the Separation Land, they had only seen one five or six times in total.

But Harak wouldn’t give them a moment to be stunned. The only thing in its mind was its master’s command.

To kill these two enemies and devour their flesh and blood.

A faint, black, rippling aura washed over Harak’s gray-white pupils, and black liquid dripped from the corners of its eyes. An invisible power began to affect the two Oby brothers.

Extraordinary Trait: [Defeated Black Eye]

Any enemy afflicted by it would suffer the Defeated State: their Particle Energy, Extraordinary Spiritual Power, and physical stats would all be comprehensively reduced.

A dense black qi surfaced on the Oby brothers’ faces, and even the Witchcraft they cast seemed to weaken by a fraction.

In the sky, circling avian creatures dove down. Their leader was, shockingly, another Beast King—a massive, eagle-like raptor. It kicked up a terrifying vortex of air that even affected some of the Extraordinary Creatures below.

The pressure from the relentless Beast Tide was no less than what they would feel facing an expert of the same Level.

The Oby brothers’ faces darkened. ‘This situation is getting troublesome.’

…..

Komore watched indifferently as the Unknown Element Wizard fell. Anyone struck by the Hand of Myriad Self—formed from the Myriad Self Void Technique—had only one fate: death.

But then, his expression slowly twisted into one of astonishment.

‘Impossible!’

He whipped around. A figure wearing a black Wizard Robe and a White Lotus Mask, wreathed in crimson light, was flying toward him. The figure extended a finger, and beams of Super High-Temperature Cluster Particle Waves once again blanketed the surrounding area.
