The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 306: The Eye of Truth Catches All, Rules, and the Book of All Things
The Tower Spirit’s words were transmitted into the minds of everyone present in the form of spiritual fluctuations.
A voice in their minds asked them to make a choice. Once they confirmed their selection, they would be teleported to the corresponding space layer by the Witch Array.
The Black Sun Badge granted the authority for this teleportation.
The Tower Spirit had appeared too suddenly. The four of them were still processing the information and did not respond rashly.
Wang Ya stared intently at the Celestial Horse Tower Spirit, “Hei.” Unlike modern Wizard Tower Spirits, which had been reformed by Mechanical Wizards, this one was different. It was crafted using a soul imbued with Spirituality, combined with a portion of the original Wizard’s own soul’s will, and then forged with Extraordinary Spiritual Power through Wizardry Means.
The Celestial Horse Relief itself was the preserved body of a Celestial Horse, the only thing capable of housing the Tower Spirit.
If the Celestial Horse Relief were destroyed, the Tower Spirit would vanish along with it.
The Tower Spirit of the Illusory Dream Tower had no such weakness; it could project a physical form at any time.
A deep blue, fragmented light flashed across his pupils.
Kaze Antuun began to ask the Tower Spirit some questions. “I want to know, is the Black Sun Wizard truly dead?”
A Tower Spirit cannot lie; it can only answer with the information it possesses. If it doesn’t know something, it will not answer, remain silent, or refuse to answer.
The Celestial Horse Tower Spirit sent out a spiritual fluctuation.
“The Black Sun Great Wizard is dead.”
“Are there any dangers inside the Black Sun Ruins? Are there any hidden pitfalls in the inheritance?”
“There are no dangers and no pitfalls.”
“Did the Black Sun Wizard die of old age? Why set up these Wizard Ruins and allow the five Black Sun Badges to be scattered?”
The Celestial Horse Tower Spirit paused for a moment. Under the gazes of the four, its pupils emitted an even stronger Extraordinary Fluctuation as it gave its answer.
“The Black Sun Wizard did not die of natural causes. The Wizard Ruins were established to prevent the Black Sun Inheritance from being buried by history; they are also a gift from the Black Sun Wizard to his successors. The five Black Sun Badges were arranged by the Black Sun Wizard. He believed that simply giving away the inheritance was beneath his status and that there must be a trial.”
A thoughtful expression flickered across Kaze Antuun’s face.
Kelan Wizard also spoke up, asking, “So by gathering all five Black Sun Badges, we’ve completed the trial? Does the Black Sun Wizard have a surviving Spiritual Body or Soul Body? Is there any possibility of his resurrection?”
The Celestial Horse Tower Spirit replied, “To have collected five Black Sun Badges from across the vast Wizard Continent, and to have investigated so many false ruins one by one, proves that your Power, wisdom, patience, and Wizard’s Heart are all exceptional. You are qualified to receive the Black Sun Inheritance. The trial is complete. The Black Sun Wizard has no residual will or soul as you describe, nor is there any possibility of resurrection.”
Kelan Wizard asked a few more questions, all of which the Tower Spirit answered.
Even Big Ben Antuun posed a question. “Will there be any problems with the inheritance we receive? Is there anything in the Black Sun Ruins that bears us ill will?”
“The inheritance is genuine and will have no issues. The Black Sun Ruins are absolutely safe for those who possess a Black Sun Badge.”
Big Ben Antuun let out a long breath, a wide grin spreading across his face.
‘I was almost worried this Black Sun Wizard was going to pull some kind of trick, a classic drama of soul possession and resurrection in a new body.’
‘After all, the contents of the murals were just too exaggerated.’
Wizarding history was full of such examples.
Some Wizard Ruins were filled with all sorts of traps, and malicious intentions were commonplace. There were always some old monsters who refused to die and would do anything to live on.
There was no such thing as a free lunch in the world, especially when it came to exploring the ruins of predecessors. Danger and opportunity always went hand in hand.
The Celestial Horse Tower Spirit’s words were airtight; no logical loopholes could be found.
If this was the trial, it was indeed a difficult one—perhaps even impossible for a single Wizard to complete. Collecting five Black Sun Badges across the vast Wizard Continent… it was mostly a matter of luck that Wang Ya and the others had managed to gather them all.
Komore, the genius Wizard from the Black Tower, had waited bitterly in the Separation Land for a hundred and twenty years.
All the necessary questions had been asked.
Not even an Extreme Wizard Apprentice would make such a simple mistake.
The Tower Spirit was more like a computer program from his previous life; it followed its set programming and was therefore incapable of lying.
The four began to discuss which inheritance to choose. The Black Sun Wizard’s expertise covered many areas, and each inheritance path reached the level of an Official Wizard, perhaps even higher.
Picking any one of them would bring immense rewards.
Kaze Antuun took the initiative and said, “Wang Ya, you choose first. You were the leader of this Black Sun endeavor, so you deserve the most credit.”
Big Ben Antuun shot a look at his clan’s leader, growing anxious. If they let Wang Ya Harak choose first and he picked the Elemental Wizard inheritance, that was a legacy that reached the level of a Level 3 Wizard.
If one could grasp it, they could become a Level 3 Great Wizard, qualified to enter the Inner Zone and establish their own Wizard Influence.
Even traveling alone, they would be treated as an honored guest by any Wizard Influence.
A Level 3 Wizard was also at the most suitable stage for traveling and exploring the Wizard Continent.
It would also be of the greatest benefit to their Antuun Clan.
Kaze Antuun shot a cold glance at Big Ben Antuun, who immediately grew timid and lowered his gaze to the floor.
“The Antuun Clan has two members here on this trip, so we hold the advantage regardless of how we choose. We previously agreed on a four-way split. Since we have the numerical advantage, the right to choose first goes to you.”
