Chapter 310: Visitors from the Black Tower, The Substitute Story

Komore stared at his right hand in disbelief. His body wouldn’t move. ‘How can this be?!’

“What did you do to me!”

Komore belatedly realized something was wrong with him. Complex memories were flooding his mind, constantly assailing his consciousness.

A piercing pain shot through his head, and his eyes became bloodshot. Komore bit his lip so hard it bled. “No, I don’t believe it! I won’t accept these memories! You actually tampered with my soul and memories… I’d rather die than accept this!”

His pride, his arrogance, could not tolerate such a thing.

‘Bowing down to a Wizard from the Outer Zone, taking his orders… What a joke! Who does he think I am?! I am the strongest Level 3 Wizard Apprentice of the Black Tower, the genius hailed as the “Black Flower”! I will never compromise!’

“I’m going to kill you, you damn bastard.”

Komore forcibly activated his Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy, actually managing to briefly suppress the effects of the Bacteriophage on his body.

Wang Ya’s gaze turned cold. The situation was developing in the direction he least wanted to see.

However, it was also within his expectations.

‘If I were in his shoes, I wouldn’t compromise either.’

But facts were facts. As the loser, he had no right to refuse, only to accept.

Resist, and you die.

Killing intent flickered in Wang Ya’s eyes as he decided to implement his backup plan.

Harak let out a sharp cry, and the controlling force of the Infinite Black Soul bound Komore. The Particle Energy in his body drained away like a receding tide, his aura steadily weakening.

He pressed his palm against Komore’s cheek, and Wang Ya’s Soul Power began to devour Komore’s Black Soul.

As his Soul Power faded, Komore’s aura grew even weaker.

But his basic life functions were maintained.

「Ten days later.」

Komore, still lying on the ground, opened his eyes again. This time, however, the look in them had completely changed. Even his facial expression was frighteningly indifferent.

Wang Ya met Komore’s gaze. The latter’s lips curled into a strange arc.

“I’ll leave it to you, then. Half a month should be enough for you to adapt to the body.”

Wang Ya shone the Heart Dream Mirror on Komore. One by one, Dream Foams merged into the body, seeming to bring about a deeper transformation.

Komore’s aura shifted constantly, and the emotions on his face gradually began to resemble those of the original Komore.

“The observed habits and Komore’s original memories should be enough for you to pass as the real thing.”

“As for your soul, it’s completely indistinguishable from Komore’s. You *are* the real Komore.”

Wang Ya still felt a little awkward. ‘Talking to myself is just too strange.’

Komore gave a faint smile. “I understand. We’ll meet in the Dream Territory tonight.”

Komore-Wang Ya took out the Inheritance Witch Book for the Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy from his Wizard’s Ring.

Fine, deep blue specks of light shone in his pupils as he scanned the Inheritance Witch Book, taking about half an hour to record all its contents.

The real Wang Ya didn’t linger. He stepped onto the back of the Flying Griffin and left Licorice Camp.

The rest could be left to Komore-Wang Ya.

…

Victor awoke from his unconscious state. The glaring sunlight made him instinctively narrow his eyes.

The weakness in his body made him frown, and then he recalled the scene seared into his memory.

‘That torrent of an Energy Shock was enough to heavily injure, or even kill, an Extreme Wizard Apprentice. The timing was too perfect; I had no time to react at all. My only choice was to protect Komore.’

‘The fact that I’m still alive means Komore must be alive too. Maybe the Oby Brothers arrived in time and saved him.’

Victor sat up from the ground. The smell of burning filled his nostrils. All around him were wreckage and ruins, from which he could vaguely make out the location of Licorice Camp.

A familiar figure stood ahead, his golden hair shining. With his back to Victor, he seemed to sense him waking and slowly turned around.

“Master.” Victor lowered his head and spoke with great respect.

Wang Ya, acting according to Komore’s usual mannerisms, said, “Victor, we can’t just let this matter go. We must have our revenge. I already know who did it.”

Victor’s head bowed even lower. He replied, “Victor is ready to obey Master’s command at any time.”

“Don’t call me Master anymore.”

Victor froze.

“Use a different title. Call me Young Master Sack.” Wang Ya’s tone was exceptionally cold, and his eyes held a chilling quality, as if Komore had been reborn.

There was almost no difference.

Victor’s expression changed, and a look of joy appeared on his face. “Young Master Sack, you’re willing to return to the Black Tower?”

“Where else would I go if not back?” Wang Ya sneered, but anyone could hear the resentment in his words.

“The Black Sun Ruins have been completely cleaned out, and my four Black Sun Badges were stolen. Should I stay here and be a laughingstock?”

“Young Master can use the family’s power to find the Wizards who attacked us, then have the family’s Wizards deal with them.”

“I already know who did it. They didn’t dare kill me, nor did they dare to completely burn bridges. They only stole the four Black Sun Badges.” Wang Ya’s tone suddenly shifted, his expression turning grim. “The Black Sun Badges are extremely secret, and I have never told any outsider about the Black Sun Ruins.”

Victor’s heart skipped a beat, and cold sweat dripped down his face. He quickly said, “Young Master, I have absolutely never betrayed you! My life is in your hands. We rise and fall together.”
