This High Martial World is Too Crazy!!!
Chapter 100: Protect Your 9 Clans
Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Protect Your 9 Clans
To have all the slave owners of the world unite...
Slave owners, unite!!!
Unite???
The word echoed in Fang Can’s mind, making his head buzz.
After all, this was his first time joining an organization of superpowered individuals. He couldn’t help but be dumbfounded as he watched the Meme Lord in front of him speak with such confidence.
Especially the earnest expression in his eyes and his unwavering gaze. It was something else.
"Alright, your ideas are a bit extreme, but it’s fine as long as you can change your ways later. I’ll keep these wicked thoughts of yours a secret for you," the Meme Lord said, smiling as he patted Fang Can on the chest.
"After all, we can’t be like those scabs and traitors. Superpowered individuals are a rare breed; every one we lose is a huge blow. We simply can’t afford any infighting."
Bizarre... Uncanny...
As Fang Can watched the Meme Lord, a strange feeling washed over him.
How could he describe this feeling the Meme Lord gave him?
It was like a villain—someone who wreaked havoc, killed indiscriminately, and committed every evil imaginable—was now grinning foolishly at you. He agreed with you wholeheartedly, and even if you had a falling out, his response would be nothing more than a lecture.
It was just... weird.
He felt an urge to make a sarcastic comment but didn’t know where to begin. After all, even though the superpowered individuals were bastards, they genuinely treated you as one of their own.
Their short conversation had a massive impact on Fang Can. It was as if he was getting to know the superpowered community all over again.
"Do all superpowered people think like this?" Fang Can asked instinctively.
"Of course not. We have bad guys among us, too," the Meme Lord whispered.
"I know some superpowered folks who just won’t stick together. If Leader Ji hadn’t told me to leave them be, I’d have gone and beaten them up myself."
"Right now, those guys have each claimed a few cities for themselves and refuse to communicate with the rest of us. They’re real lone wolves."
"If Leader Ji weren’t keeping them in line, those guys would probably be forming their own little cliques within our community."
"There are only a few thousand of us in total. If we don’t stick together, are we going to end up like the mutants in Marvel? What if those lowlifes manage to divide and conquer us?" the Meme Lord said earnestly.
’It’s all documented in *X-Men*!’
’Fucking hell, why do superpowered people in almost every work of fiction have to be at each other’s throats? They even have to split into factions, like lawful and chaotic.’
’Either they become lapdogs for the useless common folk, or they fight each other to the death?’
’We’re so damn powerful. Wouldn’t it be better for all of us to just happily unite and rule the entire country?’
The more comics and stories he consumed, the more the Meme Lord grew to despise such acts of betrayal.
’Damn it all!’
Listening to the Meme Lord’s explanation, a spark of understanding lit up in Fang Can’s eyes.
’So, it seems this current state of equality was established by the most powerful supers, led by Ji Donglai.’
’But if that power dynamic shifted—if Ji Donglai had an accident, for instance—then this supposedly unbreakable alliance of slave owners could splinter.’
Realizing he’d said a little too much, the Meme Lord cleared his throat.
"You wanted to use my powers for your training, right? I’ll make a list of my abilities for you later. You can see which ones might help."
Fang Can said with genuine sincerity, "Thanks a lot."
"No big deal. We’re buddies; we’ve got to help each other out." The Meme Lord waved his hand dismissively. "By the way, your entire clan hasn’t been wiped out yet, right?"
Fang Can’s brow furrowed. Something felt off. "Why are you asking? Don’t tell me you can’t wipe out Superman F’s clan, so you want to go after mine instead?"
"Of course not. I’m just saying you need to be careful about other supers taking revenge on your clan."
The Meme Lord explained, "At least a third of all supers are orphans, just like Batman. Most of us don’t have a complete set of parents."
"My power is to steal a portion of other people’s abilities. The person I steal from feels it very distinctly. If they get pissed off and figure out their powers are weaker because I’m helping you train..."
"...then you’d better protect your clan," the Meme Lord said with a meaningful look.
"The risk is that high?" Fang Can was speechless. ’Being related to a super is way too dangerous.’
"You bet. Take me, for example. I love pulling stunts. Every time I mess with those guys, they threaten to wipe out my clan. But they can never find them to kill them. Pisses them off, doesn’t it?" the Meme Lord said with a cheeky grin.
"Take you, for instance," the Meme Lord continued. "I was originally planning to put you in your place, but your luck ability caused a whole batch of my Tang San clones to die off, so I decided not to bother you."
"But then I realized you’re a natural-born troll! Next time you pull a stunt, you have to let me in on it."
"But why can’t I see your luck ability? I can only copy something called ’Resolute and Unyielding.’ What’s up with that?" The Meme Lord scratched his head, confused.
’He can’t see my ability?’ Fang Can’s heart skipped a beat. ’He can’t perceive my Misfortune Reversal ability?’
’Is it because my ability’s level is too high, or something else? Or maybe my talent doesn’t even fall under the category of a ’superpower’?’
Various theories flashed through Fang Can’s mind. He gave a noncommittal answer, "I have no idea either. Anyway, what did you come here for today? To bring me women?"
"Oh, right! I got so carried away talking I almost forgot." The Meme Lord slapped his forehead.
"I’ve got a hundred beautiful women ready for you—all with different looks, personalities, outfits, and figures. They’re in the villa complex back there. Every single one is a one-in-a-million beauty from the New Country. Get ready to enjoy yourself."
"And look at you, all skin and bones. If you run into any trouble from now on, just come to me. I’ve got your back."
As he spoke, he nudged Fang Can with his elbow. "In a few days, I’ll take you to see the big stunt I’m working on. I’ll show you what the ’Infinite Protagonist Project’ is all about."
"Infinite Protagonist Project?" Before Fang Can could ask for the details, he saw the Meme Lord snap his fingers. "I beseech Superman F to descend upon me!"
The next moment, the man’s body transformed into the spitting image of Superman F. He shot straight into the sky and vanished before Fang Can’s eyes.
"That guy..." Fang Can shook his head, exasperated. ’He’s so childish and over-the-top. He feels like he’s mentally younger than I am.’
"Still..." Fang Can’s gaze shifted behind him. Before him lay a neighborhood packed with villas, perhaps thirty or forty in total. Two maids stood sentinel at the entrance of each one.
Thanks to his excellent vision, Fang Can could see photos posted on the doors—some had two pictures, others had three.
The women in the photos were all on par with heavily edited, beautified social media pictures. In real life, they would be considered goddesses by many.
’So... each villa has a target, huh? Why does this feel like I’ve just walked into my own personal harem?’
After a moment of thought, Fang Can chose the nearest villa and went inside.
