This High Martial World is Too Crazy!!!
Chapter 99: The Slave Owners’ Union
Chapter 99: Chapter 99: The Slave Owners’ Union
’Rotten Stunt King?’
A flicker of confusion crossed Fang Can’s eyes. He had never heard of this superpowered individual’s moniker before.
Of course, different superpowered individuals made different choices. Some opted not to display their abilities publicly.
After all, not every super’s ability was badass. Some could only do things like conjure a flame. Without the status that came with being superpowered, they might not even be able to win a fight against a regular person.
That was why at least half of all superpowered individuals chose not to reveal their identities publicly.
Seeing the man’s outstretched right hand, Fang Can shook it instinctively. An imperceptible light flashed in Rotten Stunt King’s eyes.
Ability Anchored: [Unyielding]
Description: The closer one is to death, the faster their body recovers.
Rank: ???
Borrowable Percentage: 1%
...
’Hmm, what kind of ability is [Unyielding]? I thought this guy’s superpower was good luck.’
Rotten Stunt King stared at the ability description, confused.
From winning the lottery as a child to cursing Dali Wang’s entire clan to death, everything pointed to a luck-based power. So what the hell was this Unyielding ability?
’And the tier of this ability is incredibly high.’
A flash of surprise crossed Rotten Stunt King’s mind.
For instance, he could borrow around 40% of Superman F’s power, but this didn’t necessarily mean Fang Can’s ability was only 40 times stronger than Superman F’s.
His own power allowed him to borrow at least 1% of any anchored ability. No matter how strong it was, he could always borrow 1%. There had never been an exception.
The fact that its Rank was displayed as "???" meant this was at least a National-Level healing ability.
Based on comparisons with other National-Level users, this kind of healing would allow someone to regenerate and revive even if they were disintegrated down to the atomic level.
’Aha, so that’s it!’ Rotten Stunt King marveled internally. ’No wonder he’s the number one cauldron. With this self-healing ability and his talent, he’s an endless resource to be harvested.’
"What are you spacing out for?" Fang Can asked, looking at Rotten Stunt King, who had gone completely still after just a handshake.
"Oh, I was just checking out your superpower," Rotten Stunt King said, pulling his hand back with a smile. "My ability lets me borrow other people’s powers. I hope we get along, tovarisch."
"Borrowing abilities?" Fang Can frowned, thinking of the handshake. "How much can you borrow? Are the conditions to activate it demanding?"
"I can borrow any power as long as I’ve made physical contact. I can only borrow one at a time. For a State Level ability, I can probably borrow forty to fifty percent. For a National Level one, the most I can manage is two percent," Rotten Stunt King replied with surprising honesty.
"An ability like yours has a narrow scope—it only affects you—but its tier is absurdly high. The most I can borrow is one percent." Rotten Stunt King laid his power out completely.
He then continued, full of excitement, "Actually, I’ve been paying attention to you ever since the Z City lockdown. Back then, I just thought you were some small-time punk. I never imagined you were a true genius in the art of pulling stunts!"
"Can you do that one performance again?" Rotten Stunt King asked eagerly, gesturing with his hands.
"The one where you pull your small intestine out of your mouth so we can shake with it? And then, how about we take a picture together—a real mind-blowing one where our skulls are cracked open so you can see our brains?"
Rotten Stunt King gesticulated wildly as he spoke, practically dancing with excitement.
"Sorry, I’m done with all that surreal stuff," Fang Can said, speechless as he watched the unhinged man before him. ’Weirdos really do attract other weirdos.’
Hearing this, Rotten Stunt King nodded in agreement. "That’s how it should be. Only by acting unhinged unintentionally can you be considered a true connoisseur of madness. That’s the insight of a top-tier master of the surreal."
"Next time you pull a stunt, you have to call me. I want to be in the audience," Rotten Stunt King said with utter seriousness.
’Is this guy not right in the head?’ Fang Can thought, completely exasperated.
"But you said you can borrow superpowers. What kinds of abilities have you borrowed?" Fang Can asked, his curiosity piqued.
"Not that many, just a few hundred. Once people find out about my ability, they get so stingy. They won’t even shake my hand anymore," Rotten Stunt King said with a helpless sigh.
"Things like discharging electricity, healing, spatial warping, item appraisal, super strength, invisibility... I know a little bit of everything."
Fang Can’s eyes lit up as he listened. He had been thinking about finding other superpowered individuals to help with his training, and now a perfect candidate had just dropped into his lap.
"Do you have any abilities that can increase training speed?" Fang Can asked immediately.
"Don’t know. I have too many. I only use the same few on a regular basis," said Rotten Stunt King. "Besides, I feel bad borrowing them all the time. The last time I did, my entire family got wiped out."
Fang Can was stunned. "What happened?"
"It was that Superman F," Rotten Stunt King said, his tone resigned. "I just borrowed his power a little too often, so he got pissed off and slaughtered my entire family."
Fang Can was at a loss for words.
Staring at the young man who was discussing the massacre of his family as if he were talking about what to have for dinner, Fang Can couldn’t help but stammer, "S-so... you’re not angry?"
"Oh, I was pretty angry. My parents were good to me. The day they found out I was superpowered, they even kowtowed to me," Rotten Stunt King sighed. "And just like that, Superman F went and killed them."
Then, suddenly, he started laughing. "But their deaths have their upsides. He can’t beat me, so he could only take his anger out on my parents. Now that they’re dead, no matter whose power I borrow, no one has any leverage over me anymore."
Fang Can fell completely silent as he stared at Rotten Stunt King.
He didn’t sound like someone whose parents had died. It was more like a stray cat he’d casually taken in had been killed.
"Don’t you want to get revenge on Superman F?" Fang Can asked.
"Of course I do! I wanted to kill his parents, too! But with his talent for pissing people off, his entire clan was wiped out by other supers long before I got the chance!" Rotten Stunt King snarled, grinding his teeth in frustration.
"I meant, don’t you want to kill Superman F himse—"
"How could you even think that?" Rotten Stunt King cut him off, frowning. "He only killed my parents. Why would I want to kill *him*?"
"That way of thinking is completely wrong, tovarisch!" Rotten Stunt King said gravely. "That’s a criminal mindset! You’d better not say things like that to anyone else."
"Me...? A criminal mindset?" Fang Can’s jaw dropped. He pointed at himself, stunned that he was being judged this way.
"What else? Was all your schooling for nothing?"
"Where are all the virtues of gentleness, kindness, respect, and moderation they taught you in school?"
Rotten Stunt King stressed, "No matter how good those biological parents are to you, they are merely your slaves—lambs for us to shepherd. Only other superpowered individuals are our true, like-minded tovarischi."
"If another slave owner comes and kills your lambs, you can get into a scuffle over it, sure. But to actually think of killing the person? That’s just morally bankrupt."
"Even Ji Lao Da himself once said that all superpowered individuals must unite and not engage in infighting."
