Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Blessing Potion Enhanced +3

"We finally managed to fool the protagonist."

In the bungalow, several Reincarnators couldn’t help but relax.

"Don’t celebrate too soon. In the movie’s plot, Fang Can’s intuition can tell truth from lies at any time."

"So to keep earning his trust, we can only tell him ambiguous truths and let him fill in the blanks himself," the man with glasses imitating Chu Xuan said seriously.

"It’s all the Carnival Day movie’s fault for being so vague. It just kept expanding the world, so we can only guess at the abilities in it. We don’t even have a clear idea of the protagonist’s powers," a hot girl in shorts and a tank top complained.

According to the movie’s lore, Fang Can had transmigrated back from a Martial Dao Otherworld and was also a superhuman.

But because the movie was so cryptic about Fang Can’s superpowers, as if the editor was drunk, no one clearly knew what his specific abilities were. Everyone was just guessing.

Even Fang Can’s background of having crossed between two worlds was only explained via narration when the story needed to justify his ridiculous strength.

There had always been analyses of his superpowers online, but the conclusions were wildly different.

For example: intuition, healing, luck, a domineering aura, immortality, and so on. Anyway, whenever the plot demanded it, Fang Can could always turn a crisis into a fortunate event.

In the end, netizens jokingly called Fang Can’s ability the "protagonist’s halo." He could never be killed and would always turn misfortune into blessings, which was just ridiculous. ℯℯ𝑙.

"But I guess that’s what you’d expect from the protagonist of an animated movie."

The hot girl covered her face as she looked at his features on the security camera, sighing with emotion. "So this is what a 2D face adapted into 3D looks like... I really want to ravage him."

"Alright, stop being so thirsty."

A teammate beside her kindly reminded her, "With his current combat power, that guy could split you in half with one punch. If you really went up against him, you’d just be a human fleshlight to him."

"Do you even know how to talk?" the hot girl snapped, shooting her teammate a harsh glare.

"I’m just telling the truth," the teammate said innocently with a light shrug. "After all, I’m the kind of person who enjoys saying awkward things."

"But... I’m really curious what’s inside Fang Can’s house," the hot girl mused.

"According to the movie’s plot, Fang Can is very protective of his little villa and doesn’t let anyone inside. I wonder if there’s some big secret in there."

"I’d advise you not to overthink it."

...

「Meanwhile」

In a coffee shop, Fang Can looked at Qu Hua before him. "You’re saying... that when Carnival Day arrives, there will be at least several dozen superhumans entering Z City?"

"More or less," Qu Hua said.

"When the time comes, those guys will treat civilian lives like numbers—Reward Points—and slaughter them wantonly. If that happens, the streets could run with blood."

"But fortunately, I know some others like me in Z City. We’re like-minded and all agree that we should prevent the worst-case scenario."

"There are other superhumans in hiding? And you all know each other?" Fang Can found it a bit far-fetched. ’How could there be so many other superhumans hiding their identities like me?’

"None of that is important. We have our reasons for hiding our identities. You just need to know that our intentions are good. We’re all doing this to protect Z City," Qu Hua said earnestly.

’He’s not lying...’ Fang Can thought, looking at the man’s sincere eyes. His intuition truly felt no deception.

’But why does the way he talks give me the feeling of bureaucratic nonsense? Is he hiding something important?’

Fang Can muttered to himself. He felt the man opposite him seemed so unreliable, yet his ’Misfortune Reverses into Fortune’ ability hadn’t reacted at all.

"Alright, I believe you," Fang Can said with a smile. "I hope we can fight side-by-side on Carnival Day."

"That’s great." Qu Hua let out a breath of relief internally, then shook Fang Can’s hand with a cheerful expression.

"By the way, didn’t you say you have other superhuman friends?" Fang Can said suddenly. "Why don’t you bring them over so we can all get acquainted?"

"Of course, no problem." Qu Hua agreed at once, saying he would bring them to meet Fang Can tomorrow.

After the other man’s back had disappeared from view, Fang Can’s smile remained unchanged. But at some point, a coin had appeared in his hand, which he was flipping over and over. Gradually, his expression turned serious.

Looking at the coin, which gave him a completely random result, Fang Can thought, ’My divination is being obscured. With my current level of luck, I can’t even get a direct answer?’

Gazing in the direction Qu Hua had gone, he pondered, ’Could it be a similar type of superpower? Does their side have a luck-based superhuman too? Is that why we’re mutually obscuring each other’s fates?’

’If that’s the case, then I can’t completely trust what he said,’ Fang Can thought. After all, who knew what kind of superpowers the other side possessed.

...

Meanwhile, in a dim alleyway, the faces of another team of Reincarnators were grim.

"We have to fight Fang Can? Are you kidding me?" a man with dark skin and East Asian features said, speechless.

For this mission, they had been randomly assigned to the destruction faction and had to directly oppose the protagonist’s group.

"No need to panic. We just need to keep Fang Can too busy to deal with us. If we drag things out until the mission ends, he won’t have the energy to bother with us, and then I can farm points freely," a teammate comforted him.

"How are we supposed to keep him busy? In the movie, Fang Can’s luck ability works just like a protagonist’s halo. Whenever there’s a crisis, destiny is on his side."

"That guy, Power King, almost smashed his head in. He was on the verge of killing him, but then a bunch of random accidents and complications popped up out of nowhere, and in the end, Power King got worn down and killed instead. How are you supposed to fight a luck-based superhuman like that?"

"It’s not impossible," a scar-faced white man suddenly said while smoking a cigarette.

"Captain, you have a plan?" Seeing their leader speak up, the other Reincarnators asked in pleasant surprise.

"Mhm." The white man nodded slightly and took a vial of reagent out of his pocket.

Through the glass container, they could see the liquid inside had a color like brilliant gold.

"This... This is..." Everyone took a sharp breath in unison, all of them recalling their experience in the last world.

"A Blessing Potion from the world of Harry Potter. After drinking it, it grants good fortune for 12 hours. And this one is an enhanced version, upgraded to +3 with an Enhancement Stone."

The captain stared at the potion in his hand, which he had obtained at a huge cost. "Only luck can defeat luck. It’s a pity. I was originally planning to use this on myself."

"But for such a steep price, if we successfully kill Fang Can, I’m sure we’ll get an A-rank side quest reward at the very least," the captain said.

"Who’s going to use this Blessing Potion, then?" a team member suddenly asked.

"Power King, of course."

The white captain laughed. "In the movie, he came so close to crushing Fang Can’s head. Now, with our help, I’m sure the result will be quite spectacular."
