This Is What a Villain Is Like
Chapter 324 - 124: I Have No Right to Forgive You, the Grudges Must Be Settled Tonight, Boundless Suffering
The mountains trembled. Rays of divine light shot toward the heavens from deep within the dark, gloomy mountain range, like a cascade of stars falling from the firmament to crush everything in their path.
From every direction, a chilling killing intent radiated. One after another, great banners fell into place, linking together to form a star-like pattern.
A hazy mist billowed out, creeping toward Jiang Ruxian, who stood at the entrance of the ruined temple.
Her expression was completely unfazed. With just a few waves of her hands, a tyrannical fluctuation of Runes emanated from her, like raging waves crashing against the heavens or jagged rocks smashing against the shore. The figures charging at her were all sent flying.
PUFF...
Blood instantly rained down from the sky. The figures plummeted into the surrounding mountains like broken sacks, their combat strength completely gone. In that single moment, they smashed through an untold number of peaks.
Dust billowed as ancient trees snapped, and countless leaves drifted to the ground.
Inside the temple, the bonfire burned brightly.
Startled by the sounds outside, the woman of the Liu Clan ran out, her face a mask of terror. She had no idea what was happening. But before she could even step out of the temple, an invisible force blocked her path, keeping her inside.
"M-Miss Ruxian, what’s happening?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"Just stay hidden in the temple. Don’t come out."
Jiang Ruxian didn’t turn back. Her gaze was cold and tranquil, without a ripple of emotion.
The moment she set foot in this mountain range, she had sensed the deadly trap laid for her. But she gave no sign that she noticed anything amiss. She wanted to see just who had set this ambush.
So, this sudden attack by a group of experts was entirely within her expectations.
And now, Jiang Ruxian knew exactly who had sent them.
That was why she had held back just now, not truly dealing a fatal blow.
"Y-Yes..."
The woman of the Liu Clan stammered. Never in her life had she witnessed such a terrifying scene. She quickly scrambled back into the temple.
Meanwhile, in the deep, dark mountains, radiant light continued to pierce the sky. Patches of Runes flickered, forming Restriction Array Patterns that harnessed the power of heaven and earth.
More figures emerged from the deep forest, hovering in mid-air or flitting through the shadows nearby. Waves of power emanated from the Magical Artifacts in their hands: an Ancient Bell, a bronze sword, a Divine Lamp, a Dao Map... Each was wreathed in brilliant light as they descended upon her like a torrential, overwhelming rain, saturated with terrifying killing intent.
"Kill!"
The battle cries were completely unaffected by the sight of their comrades being sent flying moments before.
Weaving through the hazy Grand Array, these figures were clearly prepared to face a powerful foe.
One Divine Power Ancient Technique after another was unleashed. Dazzling divine light shot across the landscape, creating a scene of utter chaos, every attack charged with a chilling aura.
Jiang Ruxian’s body was shrouded in an immortal haze. Her tall, slender figure appeared indistinct and ethereal as she stood there, as if in a world separate from everyone else.
She shook her head gently and sighed. As her pristine, jade-like hand reached forward, the already dark and gloomy night sky seemed to fall utterly silent.
A vast and torrential power surged forward with a great RUMBLE. The Void hummed, and the mountains trembled.
Several Magical Artifacts that hadn’t yet reached her were struck by just the aftershock of this power. With a CRACK, they shattered into fine dust.
The figures whose minds were linked to the Magical Artifacts reeled as if struck by lightning. They spat out a mouthful of blood, severely wounded, and plummeted to the ground.
"This woman’s power... it’s just too terrifying..."
"Don’t underestimate her! Attack together and take her down!"
The various Tributors and retainers of the Prime Minister’s Mansion were horrified, their expressions shifting rapidly as they quickly changed their strategy.
In another direction, several figures were responsible for the Grand Array. They sat cross-legged in the Void, continuously forming hand seals while chanting an incantation.
The great power of heaven and earth was harnessed once more. All the world’s essence energy began to converge, surging toward their location.
Within the Grand Array, now blazing with starlight, the great banners trembled and billowed. They let out a terrifying howl like a gale-force wind as a murky aura spewed from their surfaces, resembling both a roiling black fog and a furious tide.
Beneath the starry sky, bolts of lightning began to flash. Dark clouds gathered, and the very heavens began to change. The low RUMBLE of thunder echoed across the landscape, terrifying the myriad beasts into submission.
Blinding, brilliant bolts of lightning streaked across the night sky before striking down into the center of the Grand Array.
Gale-force winds and a sudden squall accompanied the lightning. What had been a relatively clear night sky was instantly transformed by a torrential downpour and the ceaseless, muffled thunder.
Patches of Runes linked together, manifesting as all sorts of terrifying phenomena: heavenly lightning, earthly fire, and even illusory rivers, lakes, and mountains...
The resulting aura was so terrifyingly potent, it was as if these phenomena had truly manifested in reality. All of it surged toward Jiang Ruxian.
The surrounding mountains were utterly devastated. A single patch of divine light crashing to the ground was enough to turn the land into a scorched ruin. Chaotic energies radiated outward, snapping ancient trees and shattering mountain peaks.
Yet Jiang Ruxian remained cold and serene. The hem of her dress didn’t even stir.
With a sweep of her sleeve, the Void before her was instantly torn asunder. A terrifying rift shot out, spreading rapidly like a spiderweb. In an instant, it had swallowed every last trace of the overwhelming energy.
All the Rune fluctuations and Magical Artifacts were devoured by the gaping rift in the Void.
At this sight, the faces of the attacking Tributors and retainers changed dramatically yet again. A tremor of true fear—of horror—finally seized them.
Jiang Ruxian reached out a flawless, jade-like hand once more. Before her, the torrential rain itself seemed to hang suspended in the air.
