Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable
Chapter 225: Chloe York Saves Sophie Lane
Godly Rich System: [Host, in the abandoned building a hundred meters away, a girl is being assaulted. Hurry and save her. Reward for completing the mission: two hundred yuan.]
Upon hearing the system’s words, Chloe York sprinted over without a second of hesitation.
Sure enough, as soon as she entered the abandoned building, she saw several men holding down a girl, about to force themselves on her. Chloe hurled the trash in her hands straight at them, hitting one of the men squarely in the back.
Startled by the sudden interruption, they stopped what they were doing and turned around to see Chloe. The men exchanged glances. “What should we do? Should we take her down too?”
The man who spoke had a lecherous look in his eyes. He didn’t care how many people showed up—when it came to women, the more, the merrier. He was especially fond of Chloe’s type, who looked to be around college age.
“Leave this one alone. The employer only told us to deal with the one on the ground, and she’d handle the fallout. If we mess with anyone else and stir up trouble, she might not help us cover it up.” One of the men was more rational, believing they shouldn’t just attack random bystanders.
“Then what do we do? She already saw us!” another man worried. They had been spotted. If she called the cops, the police could easily draw up their sketches based on her description in minutes, and they’d never be able to escape.
“Just let her go.”
Finally, one of the men stepped forward, trying to scare Chloe away. He deliberately put on a fierce expression. “I advise you to mind your own business and get the hell out of here.”
“Get the hell out? I think you’re the ones who should get the hell out!” Chloe cracked her wrists and charged straight at them.
The men watched Chloe rush at them, failing to react in time. They had never met anyone with such a death wish. There were four of them and only one of her, yet she was charging right at them? They immediately dropped into defensive stances, ready to attack, but before they could even steady themselves, Chloe threw a punch. The sheer force of it sent a man crashing to the ground.
She then caught a fist flying at her from the side and, in short order, laid out all four men. They were left groaning in agony on the floor.
Godly Rich System: [Congratulations, Host, for completing the mission. Reward: two hundred yuan.]
Chloe walked over to the girl, taking off her own jacket to drape over her. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” Sophie Lane clutched Chloe’s jacket tightly and stood up.
She had almost been assaulted, but Chloe had barged in right at the last moment, so they hadn’t succeeded. Sophie now recognized the person in front of her as Chloe York, and she suddenly grew a little agitated. “You’re Chloe York.”
Chloe was surprised by the girl’s intense reaction. “Do you know me?” she asked, quite puzzled. She didn’t think she knew this person.
Sophie shook her head. To think that her savior today would turn out to be Chloe York.
Technically speaking, she had indirectly gone against Chloe. Brooke York had wanted her university admission spot specifically to deal with Chloe. By giving Brooke her spot, she had effectively helped Brooke target Chloe.
“These guys—are you calling the cops to send them to the station, or should I?” Chloe asked. Truth be told, she really didn’t want to get involved with the police station again, fearing they would try to present her with another pennant.
“I’ll do it!”
This was exactly what Chloe wanted to hear. “Alright then!”
Since she had already saved the girl, Chloe planned to leave.
“Thank you, Chloe. I will repay you.”
Chloe found Sophie’s words a bit baffling, but she left without saying anything. Repay? They would probably never see each other again, so whether she repaid her or not didn’t really matter.
Sophie looked at the men still groaning on the ground. She knew she ought to call the police and have them arrested, but if she did, they would confess that the person behind this was Brooke York. Remembering that Brooke was Miles York’s daughter, she ultimately decided against calling the police. She let the men off the hook and walked right out of the abandoned building.
The men howling on the ground noticed that Sophie had left without alerting the authorities. Though puzzled as to why she didn’t call the cops, they couldn’t afford to dwell on it. They needed to make themselves scarce immediately. If the girl who had just left decided to call the police herself, the cops would swoop in and round them all up in one fell swoop.
About two hours later, new posts surfaced online, reporting that several men had been caught trying to assault a woman in an abandoned building, and that it was thanks to Chloe York that the victim was saved.
However, this incident had barely hit the trending searches when it was overshadowed by another scandal. The news that Brooke York had paid to buy someone else’s university admission letter was being shared all over the internet. And the person whose university spot Brooke had bought and replaced was none other than the girl Chloe had rescued in the abandoned building.
Ultimately, the revelation that Brooke York had stolen someone else’s place at university shot straight to the number one spot on the trending list and stayed there.
[Oh wow, I thought this kind of thing only happened in novels and TV dramas. I can’t believe it actually happens in real life. Talk about an eye-opener.]
[Crazy stuff. Now that the truth is out, it looks like their deal fell through. They couldn’t stay on the same page and ended up backstabbing each other.]
[Trending searches used to be all about celebrities. Now it’s all about the daughters of the York Family. The true heiress and the fake heiress take turns making headlines, as if they’re afraid one of them might miss out!]
The moment Alice Cole saw the online posts—especially the part where Chloe York saved the girl, and that this girl was the very person Brooke had replaced—she instinctively knew that Brooke was highly likely the one who had ordered the kidnapping.
“Ah, I’m ruined! It’s all ruined because of that bitch Sophie Lane!” Brooke York broke down. No one knew how she had managed to make it back from school.
Everyone had been laughing at her, shooting her mocking glances. In their eyes, she was now a disgusting, stupid person—the girl who scored zero on every test. And all of this was because of Sophie Lane, a detestable, nauseating person just like Chloe York.
“Brooke, don’t be like this.” Seeing her daughter in this state made Alice’s heart ache terribly.
“Mom, what do I do? They’re all laughing at me, all of them! Why? Why did she have to say anything? Couldn’t she just keep her mouth shut?” Brooke grabbed Alice’s arm, her tone demanding answers.
“Brooke, listen to me. No one is laughing at you. Who would dare? If they couldn’t pass the entrance exam, they wouldn’t necessarily have the means to buy a spot anyway. Besides, this whole thing is Sophie’s fault. That bitch didn’t follow the rules. She took the money and still sold you out. She’s the one we should blame.”
“You’re right, we should blame her! And we should blame Chloe York, too! It was her! She went and saved Sophie! She did it on purpose! She saved Sophie on purpose!”
At the mention of Chloe York, both mother and daughter’s eyes flared with malicious resentment.
