Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable
Chapter 229: Chloe York Saves Someone Again
Soon, it was the day before Chloe York was set to study abroad. Today, she still had to come to campus.
“Host, a tidal wave will inundate this area in thirty minutes,” the Godly Rich System announced.
“A tidal wave?”
Chloe knew this was a coastal city, but there had been no warning! Furthermore, the university was situated extremely close to the sea. If a tidal wave hit, this school would be the first to suffer.
“Yes, Host,” the Godly Rich System replied. “This is your final mission. If completed, you will be rewarded with ten thousand yuan. Please arrange for the students to evacuate immediately. Just getting them out of the school will suffice.
“Because this tidal wave is not apocalyptic, it will only reach a few stories high. Since the school is in a low-lying area and has a large student population, rescue teams will have a hard time reaching it. As long as the students evacuate from here, move further away, and reach higher ground, they will be fine. Once the danger passes and they come down, the water will probably only be knee-deep, nowhere near as terrifying as the school’s situation. Twenty-something minutes is plenty of time.”
The Godly Rich System’s words left Chloe with no hesitation. She immediately rushed to the campus broadcasting room to make an announcement. Fortunately, she was only a few minutes’ walk away.
At this moment, a few students were in the broadcasting room handling some tasks. Seeing Chloe rush in frantically, they were stunned for a moment before reacting. “Oh my god, it’s Chloe! Chloe, did you come to the broadcasting room for something?” one student asked.
“If you need help, we’ll definitely do our best,” another added.
“Yeah, absolutely!” a third chimed in.
The students were extremely excited to see her. Although they had always known she attended their university, the campus was quite large, so they had rarely ever run into her.
“A massive tidal wave is going to flood this area in a little over twenty minutes, so we need to make a broadcast immediately and get the students to evacuate!” she urged.
“What?”
“A tidal wave?”
“Yes, so hurry and broadcast the evacuation notice.”
If anyone else had said this, they probably wouldn’t have believed it. But since it was Chloe, the students completely trusted her. Among the group, a male student who had been at the station the longest immediately decided to let her make the broadcast.
“But if a tidal wave is coming, we can’t run very far in just twenty minutes. We should hurry to higher ground first!” one of the male students suggested.
“Chloe, you should do the broadcast,” he continued. “Your words are more convincing. If we say it, the students might think it’s a joke.”
“Okay. I’ll also coordinate which exits the students should use to evacuate,” Chloe said. “Can you guys figure out the best exit routes for each zone to prevent stampedes?”
“Got it.”
The students hurriedly pulled up the campus map. Chloe didn’t hesitate and immediately started the broadcast.
Before announcing the incoming flood, she first introduced herself.
At this time, students across the university were either in class, strolling around campus, or sleeping and playing games in their dorms. When the broadcast echoed out, everyone heard Chloe’s introduction. Upon hearing that a massive tidal wave was about to hit, the students didn’t hesitate for a second and immediately began to evacuate.
In an instant, the entire campus was filled with running students. However, the evacuation was remarkably orderly. Because Chloe was guiding them on how to evacuate and directing each zone to a specific direction, the students followed her instructions perfectly.
Naturally, the university professors also followed the arranged escape routes. Only the principal’s office was left in a state of utter confusion.
“A tidal wave? Good heavens, how could something like a tidal wave happen? And why didn’t she mention where the people in the principal’s office should run? How could she forget the Administration Building in Zone A?”
After snapping out of his daze, the principal muttered to himself while frantically packing up his important documents before fleeing.
“System, aside from this school, will the people in the surrounding area also be affected by the tidal wave?” Chloe suddenly asked, realizing that although there weren’t many residential houses right next to the school, there were still people living a bit further away. She wondered if they would be impacted.
“No,” the Godly Rich System explained. “Because the school is extremely close to the coast, only this specific area will suffer severe flooding, likely reaching up to six stories high. By the time it reaches the nearby residential buildings, it will probably drop to about three stories. The impact won’t be as powerful, so it won’t be particularly severe there. The main danger is here at the school.
“Of course, if you still have time, Host, you can notify the locals on your way out. But you must ensure your own safety first!”
“Understood!”
Chloe looked at the students who were still in the broadcasting room. “We still have twenty minutes. Do you guys want to come with me to warn the residents living closest to the school?”
“We can, but the closest residential areas are a bit far. By the time we get there, it might be too late.”
“I’ve got an idea. Some of our teachers rent apartments in that area. We can ask them to contact their landlords, and the landlords can send a warning to their tenant group chats.”
Chloe’s sudden idea won unanimous approval from the students.
The group evacuated together while a few students managed to get the message into the teachers’ work group chat. They relayed the situation, hoping any teacher renting off-campus would see the message and quickly inform their landlord. Soon, one teacher replied with a simple, “Received.”
“Chloe, a teacher has replied. They should be able to properly notify the surrounding residents.”
“That works. Let’s hurry and get out of here too.”
“Okay!”
Before long, the entire university was completely emptied. Not a single person was in sight, nor even a stray cat—any students who spotted one while running had simply scooped it up and taken it along.
Sure enough, half an hour later, seawater suddenly began pouring into the campus. The surging waves grew larger and more ferocious, snapping trees in half. The floodwaters rapidly rose to the height of a six-story building, tearing straight toward the distance.
It didn’t take long for the news to break online as an emergency report. Everyone held their breath, knowing that the university was the closest target to the disaster zone and was full of college students!
Brooke York burst out laughing when she saw the news online.
She knew it! She just knew it! She was the female lead, and the heavens were on her side.
“Mom, did you see this?” she crowed. “A massive tidal wave hit the university! That’s what those students get for laughing at me. Look at them now! Retribution has arrived! The sea flooded them!”
Seeing Brooke in a near-manic state, Alice Cole felt a twinge of concern. “Brooke, don’t be like this. Calm down.”
“I am calm! This is me being calm,” Brooke spat back. “The fact that I’m not standing up and cackling at them proves how kind I am. Who told them to mock me? Anyone who laughs at me will be punished! They should have been on my side, not laughing at me!”
