“That’s right, they’ve been punished. Do you feel much better now? All those people who laughed at you have been punished.”

“Yes, I feel much better.”

“Then how about something to eat?” Alice Cole suggested. Brooke York hadn’t eaten since coming home from school, and Alice was genuinely worried her body wouldn’t be able to take it. She wanted to seize the moment while Brooke was in a good mood to get some food into her.

“Sure, let’s eat. I’ll just go downstairs.”

“Okay, okay, let’s go down.”

Alice Cole led Brooke York down to the first-floor dining room and instructed the servants to prepare the food quickly.

This meal was an exceptionally happy one for Brooke York—the happiest she had eaten since returning to the York family—all because those who had mocked her had received their punishment.

Little did she know that while she was eating, the news online had undergone a massive shift. Netizens noticed that students were successively posting online, saying that their entire student body had evacuated to high ground in time. Thanks to Chloe York warning them in advance and telling them to retreat, all the students were completely fine.

This incident immediately blew up online again, propelling Chloe York to viral fame once more.

[Oh my god! Chloe York saved people again! She did another good deed!]

[This goes way beyond just doing a good deed. I don’t even know how to describe it anymore. She saved so many people this time. I feel like she has the ability to foresee the future.]

[Badass, truly badass. We used to always hear about how she saved one person here and there, but I never expected her to save this many people all at once.]

[I will follow Chloe York forever.]

Meanwhile, the students were all expressing their gratitude to Chloe York. If it weren’t for her, they had no idea what would have happened to them.

“Thank you, Chloe! You saved our lives!”

“Yeah, Chloe, thank you so much!”

“You don’t have to be so polite, guys,” Chloe replied. “We’re classmates; it was only right for me to help.”

“That’s different. If it weren’t for your broadcast, we definitely would have been trapped there.”

“Exactly. Not only would being trapped there be terrifying, but the students on the lower floors would have been in serious trouble.”

“Really, there’s no need to be so polite. We’ve all had a scare today. Hurry up and call your parents to let them know you’re safe, then go find a hotel to stay at for now and wait for the school’s notice.”

“Right, let’s find a hotel first.” When they evacuated, they had all managed to grab their money and phones.

Chloe York also received a call from Sophia Quinn.

“Chloe, are you okay? I heard there was a seawater flood over by your school!”

“Mom, I’m fine.”

“That’s good. When your grandmother found out about the seawater flood, she insisted on going to find you no matter what. She was just about to leave when we saw the news saying you organized the students to evacuate. We finally breathed a sigh of relief, but your grandma still wasn’t completely at ease. She was worried you might have gotten hurt somehow, so she told me to quickly call and ask you.”

“I’m fine. I put my own safety first, so I wasn’t injured.”

“That’s good. By the way, you’re going abroad tomorrow. Your grandma and I will go see you off.”

“Okay!” Chloe didn’t refuse. She knew that even if she did, they would still come. It would only take a quick check for them to find out which airport she was boarding at.

After hanging up, Chloe prepared to head back to her rented apartment. She felt a bit fortunate that her place was quite a distance from the school. Otherwise, if she had lived very close to the campus like she did in high school, she would be staying in a hotel tonight.

Meanwhile, having returned to her bedroom, Brooke York picked up her phone with a face full of smiles. She was ready to check on the current situation, wondering if she would see people preparing to drive boats in for a rescue. However, when she unlocked her phone and saw the trending push notifications, her expression drastically changed.

Downstairs, Alice Cole, who was personally preparing a fruit platter, was also in a good mood because Brooke had just eaten two bowls of rice. Since Brooke came back to the family, this was the first time she had seen the girl with such a good appetite. Seeing her eat so well meant that she wasn’t feeling upset at the moment.

But just as she finished preparing the fruit, a piercing scream echoed from upstairs. It startled Alice so much that she didn’t even have time to grab the platter before rushing upstairs.

“Brooke, what’s wrong?” Pushing open the bedroom door, Alice saw Brooke with a dark, furious expression.

“Chloe York. Chloe York! It’s that bitch Chloe York again! She actually managed to save all her classmates!”

“What?” Alice was a bit shocked. What did she mean by Chloe saving all her classmates? How could she have such great ability? That was a massive seawater flood; how could she possibly save all those students at once?

“Can’t you look at your phone yourself? It’s all your fault! Why did you have to swap the wrong baby? Why did it have to be Chloe York? She constantly steps all over me now! And she even went and saved those people who laughed at me! They’re all in it together!” Brooke vented all her anger directly onto Alice.

“Brooke, I’m sorry. It’s all Mom’s fault,” Alice immediately apologized. Yes, it was all because she had taken the wrong baby back then. If she hadn’t made that mistake, none of these things would be happening now, and her daughter would definitely be very, very happy.

Brooke was still furious, but seeing Alice apologize like this, she knew she had to dial it back. If she remained unforgiving and made Alice disappointed in her, it would be even harder for her to survive in the York family.

“Alright, you don’t need to apologize. I was just too agitated just now. Let me calm down for a bit, okay, Mom?”

“Okay, but promise Mom you won’t do anything to hurt yourself, alright?”

“I promise.”

Alice nodded and closed the door.

The moment the door clicked shut, Brooke’s face immediately darkened. “They’re all bitches!”

When Chloe York arrived downstairs at her apartment building, she was stunned. She hadn’t expected the reporters to be so swift and crazed—they were already staking out the entrance to her building.

The reporters spotted Chloe returning and immediately rushed over to her.

“Chloe, we finally get to see you! Can we interview you for a moment?”

She hadn’t expected the reporters to ask such a question. Why were they suddenly being so polite? After all, from her previous encounters or what she had seen of others, reporters usually disregarded everything and just rapid-fired the questions they wanted answered, showing no manners whatsoever.

Little did she know, the only reason the reporters were being so polite was because she was far too popular right now, and the primary reason for her fame was her history of saving lives. With such a kind-hearted, good girl, they naturally couldn’t use their usual aggressive interviewing tactics.

“Sure.”

The reporters politely asked a few questions, and Chloe answered truthfully. However, when they asked how she knew the seawater flood was going to happen, she simply said it was because she had noticed the signs.

Having gotten their interview, the reporters left without pestering or bothering her any further.
