Chapter 1624: Chapter 351: Honey Fallen to the Ground
Pedestrians fell silently, one by one, never making a sound, as they stopped breathing and faced death.
Mai Rada was shocked, but he didn’t show it. He examined each case until he had walked about ten meters and seen three bodies before he couldn’t help but wonder, “Could it be a curse?”
He couldn’t find any fatal wounds on these townsfolk, leading him to deduce that perhaps some “Non-Human” had delivered a mental blow—in fact, even a mental blow should leave a person’s body in a state of short-lived activity.
But these people lost all vitality in an instant.
Teacher Prin, meanwhile, raised his head to look at the sky, remaining silent.
“What are you looking at?” Mai Rada’s heart shivered. He felt as though he might have missed something due to the restriction of his powers.
“You can see now,” Teacher Prin lightly touched the air in front of Mai Rada’s forehead.
See… see?
His eyes focused intently, and he saw tiny glimmers of light slowly drifting into the night sky, resembling fireflies—a beautiful yet simultaneously terrifying sight.
Because these glimmers were indeed souls released after death… They might become Spiritual Bodies, ghosts, or even Evil Spirits, depending mainly on the environmental conditions at the time.
Yet evidently, these souls hadn’t transformed into anything else, remaining in their most original state.
Mai Rada gasped in shock, suddenly understanding what Teacher Prin meant by saying the time in this town had ceased!
Someone… or some force, was harvesting all life in this town!
“Hades!”
In an instant, the answer appeared in Mai Rada’s mind; it was Hades, for only Hades could bring death!
“I’ve found it! I’ve finally found it!” Mai Rada’s joy swept away his frustrations of the past days, laughing wildly, he nearly rushed toward the direction where the souls were gathering—Hades must be at the end of the soul’s convergence.
“You’d better not stray too far from me.” But at that moment, Teacher Prin’s words were like a cold splash, making Mai Rada feel as if he had inhaled extremely cold air, “If you are too far away, you’ll end up like them.”
Just as Mai Rada took a step forward, his body stiffened. He halted, mid-stride, sweating coldly and unwilling to take another step… he even felt utter despair.
Fear, timidity, the eruption of all negative emotions, recalling his experiences during these days, his former pride shattered in an instant, and the remnants of his self-respect were thoroughly trampled by life, crying, “I was nothing but trash!!”
He gritted his teeth with determination and finally took that last half-step forward, bracing himself for death, yet without fear—feeling his soul ascended, relieved and light.
Yet he did not die as Teacher Prin had said… He remained standing, with everything before him unchanged.
“I’m not dead! I’m not dead…” Mai Rada was dazed, soon overwhelmed with joy, “Hahaha! I’m not dead! See, Hades hasn’t harvested my life! It must have sensed the divine blood in my body! I shall become its subject! God… won’t slaughter its own people!”
“No, I’m just behind you.” Teacher Prin’s voice came calmly from behind Mai Rada.
Mai Rada was shattered, looking at the five steps ahead, suddenly losing the courage to walk them again.
But Teacher Prin walked forward, and Mai Rada quickly followed, urgently asking, “Where are you going?”
“To see what’s going on.” Teacher Prin said calmly, “Also, I want to see what Hades looks like… if it truly exists, it might answer some of my long-held questions.”
Mai Rada remained silent, as long as Teacher Prin was willing to go, it seemed good enough… Despite having lost his “Non-Human” powers, he confidently believed Hades was indeed there!
Meanwhile, in the town, more and more townspeople collapsed… expanding beyond the center, spreading to the outskirts.
The souls drifting into the night sky, seemingly drawn, gathered in the same place, growing in number.
Like a large wetland arrived at midsummer night.
…
…
The deep sea.
Here lies countless seaways, above and below sea level—it even holds many more secrets than the land.
A gigantic shadow traversed beneath the ocean… flickering with different light dots in the dark seabed.
Inside the behemoth.
“Reporting, we’ve discovered the Nautilus wreckage, should we explore!”
Justin, captain of another large submarine from the Black Religious Congregation, was one of the New Faction’s leaders, pondering the intentions of the Congregation’s Commander during the report.
He was bewildered… since this operation deployed about eighty percent of the Congregation’s headquarters power—meaning the submarine in the deep sea almost carried all their strength.
Left behind were only some field personnel and ordinary members without access to important tasks… Their aim was merely ensuring the headquarters operated minimally.
Why would the Commander issue this order?
More so, even Master Plaid joined them on board… What’s more, the item of a century plan was also directly brought onto the submarine.
Fortunate indeed that the submarine wasn’t a product of land-based civilization, otherwise, everything couldn’t have been prepared so quickly.
At this moment, a subordinate’s report interrupted Captain Justin’s thoughts… If he were the one navigating this time, he could have given orders immediately, but the Commander of the Black Religious Congregation was present here.
Captain Justin had no choice but to directly connect to the Commander’s communication to inquire about matters regarding Nautilus, but the reply he received was…
——There is no need to waste time on a silent Nautilus, land as soon as possible!
The tone was decisive, as if this Nautilus was merely a trivial broken wooden boat——this Nautilus, was once the strongest submarine of the Black Religious Congregation, and even now, many of its functions remain immensely powerful!
But the Commander’s orders are not to be defied… this is a belief deep in Justin’s heart.
Ignore the Black Religious Congregation being divided into New and Old factions, or how fierce the hidden struggle between the two factions is, as long as it’s the Commander’s order, it can’t be disobeyed.
Every core member of the Black Religious Congregation’s high-level personnel has been given spiritual suggestion by the Commander——under the influence of this Commander’s immense mental abnormal power, these core personnel are like puppets.
The New and Old factions have been at constant struggle because of the issue with Master Plaid, all because the Commander has remained silent——at this moment, with the Commander’s order, the Black Religious Congregation acted swiftly, deploying the vast majority of its power, which can be described as an all-out operation.
Unlike the Holy Church, which is deeply rooted and tangled, the Black Religious Congregation is entirely the congregation of one person… the congregation of that extraordinarily gifted Commander.
“Quickly find a suitable landing point!”
Captain Justin directly issued an order at this moment——simultaneously, a troublesome individual appeared right before Captain Justin’s eyes.
On the screen, the unsightly face of Master Plaid appeared… not only that, some scenes in the room also appeared in Captain Justin’s view.
Although it was just some corner images, seeing the girl with scars all over her half of her body, Captain Justin felt a sudden urge to twitch his brow.
“Send some more toys over.”
Master Plaid said just that and then directly cut off the communication… in the control room, a group of subordinates all looked toward the captain.
Captain Justin slowly let out a breath at this moment, feeling somewhat weak as he bent his body, looking at the angry gazes of his subordinates, he ultimately sighed and waved his hand, saying: “This time… send a few more over. For the future sacred war and rise, some sacrifices are necessary.”
The control room was immediately filled with an extremely oppressive silence.
Why constantly satisfy Plaid’s requests?
Why not control or torture him directly?
How could Captain Justin not understand these young people’s thoughts——those young people don’t know that Master Plaid can’t be killed, and can’t even be controlled.
He can refine his body into something else, thus breaking free from all locks… The so-called inner borders would be directly refined by him, turning into ions scattered in the air.
As for human thermal weapons, in Master Plaid’s eyes, they’re just piles of scrap metal.
What’s more important is, you can’t kill him, and he will kill you——rather than saying the Black Religious Congregation gains the power to cooperate with Master Plaid by fulfilling his requests, it’s better to say the congregation goes to great lengths to please him to get his assistance.
The relationship between both parties has been imbalanced from the very beginning.
…
After cutting off the communication, in the luxurious room——even moving to a place of traveling underwater, Plaid insisted on having a comfortable environment——this room originally belonged to the Commander of the Black Religious Congregation, but now it has been taken by him.
“A group of servants.” Master Plaid sneered coldly, “You’ve long missed the chance to control me.”
The chance to control him was only at the very beginning——when he fell into this Small World, constantly suppressed by this World’s Will, his power was almost entirely lost, even ordinary people could kill him.
Now, after some time of recuperation, he has parsed part of the Sub-world’s World Will, writing in some rules from his origin Sub-world to use the capability of Structural Alchemy, the Black Religious Congregation is no longer in his eyes.
The reason he’s still lingering around is nothing more than needing some servants in this Sub-world, additionally being quite interested in what the Black Religious Congregation housed there, so he has patience to play around.
The Alchemy big devil, a man governing the world with despair… this was Plaid’s life before leaving the original Sub-world.
He could have continued that life of toying with the whole world, but when the power reached its peak end, he became insanely ambitious to turn the World’s Will into his own toy, ultimately becoming a tool for the World’s Will to overthrow civilization.
However, Plaid is certainly a heartbroken and mad person, when civilization collapsed, he unhesitatingly utilized the vast majority of alchemists in the empire, using billions of Power of Life to refine a pathway out of the Sub-world… even refining his body into the Philosopher’s Stone that stores Structural Alchemy rules capability, entering the Void.
Allowing bones to dry up for one’s success, his success was the desolation of the empire’s entire living beings.
“The power is far from being restored.” Master Plaid while being served by a trembling naked woman, was thinking about some matters.
He was fighting with his adversary in the cracks, finally disrupted by a terrifying fluctuation in Space, causing him to slip into this Sub-world with chaotic and extremely abundant goddess beliefs… Plaid believes, if he could survive, his adversary could also.
Otherwise, he would have already defeated the opponent in the Void.
So, it’s possible that his adversary is hiding somewhere in this world, secretly thriving and gathering strength.
“You hurt me!”
Suddenly, Master Plaid snorted coldly and hit directly, the naked woman hadn’t even had time to speak before her neck was directly twisted by Plaid.
He enjoys the feeling of cruelly killing girls like this… especially the feeling of murdering those beautiful and radiant women, goddesses in many people’s eyes, it indulges him even further.
The girl’s neck snapped, she was immediately cast aside by Plaid… his eyes glanced over, and another girl hiding in the corner crawled over trembling.
But at this moment, the screen in the luxurious room suddenly turned on, appearing before Master Plaid was an old, wrinkled face.
“Plaid, have you finished?”
The old man is… the Commander of the Black Religious Congregation.
