Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 472 - 471: So Idle a Certain Part Hurts
Netizens instantly turned into Sherlock Holmes, hoping to solve this mystery.
Shawn Fisher was already married, so netizens temporarily ruled him out.
Melody Monroe had previously been mistaken for Christopher Sterling’s mistress and had already cleared things up. She had even made a solemn declaration that she would never be a homewrecker!
Jasper Rockwell was also automatically ignored by them.
Now, that only left Silas Rockwell and Evan Fairchild as the most likely candidates for Melody Monroe’s boyfriend.
Everyone split into two camps: one team supported Master Rockwell, the other supported Evan Fairchild.
The intensity of the discussion was comparable to a debate tournament.
Melody Monroe sat beside Evan Fairchild. Although she was worried about them being photographed together, she felt an inexplicable sense of peace.
She didn’t know why those two powerful men were approaching her. Shawn Fisher was one thing, but Silas Rockwell was truly inscrutable. He’d even made her call him "Second Brother."
’Something feels off.’
Evan Fairchild looked at the two men in front of them. They were engrossed in the competition and hadn’t noticed his arrival yet.
"Did they bully you?" Evan Fairchild asked.
"I was sitting between them, trembling in my boots," Melody Monroe replied honestly. "And it just feels... weird."
"Ignore them. Neither of those two is up to any good. Just avoid them from now on."
"Okay." Melody Monroe nodded. "Will people find out about our relationship?" She was still a little worried.
"No. At worst, it’ll just be some gossip."
Melody Monroe: "..."
Evan Fairchild had no idea when these two had started colluding. ’Were they just bored out of their minds?’
Silas Rockwell was still watching the competition. It happened to be Jasper Rockwell’s turn on stage when Shawn Fisher suddenly shot him a look. Silas glanced behind him.
His smile froze on his face!
Evan Fairchild had actually come!
Evan Fairchild suddenly stood up and walked toward the two of them. They immediately rose to their feet as well.
"You two are here too. What a coincidence." Evan Fairchild’s words sounded like they were squeezed through gritted teeth.
"Yes, what a coincidence," Silas Rockwell replied with a smile. "I came to watch Jasper’s competition, but I didn’t expect to run into my rumored little girlfriend. You two probably already know each other, right? Then I won’t bother with introductions."
"Your rumored little girlfriend? Who?" Evan Fairchild shot back with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
"Melody, of course! You didn’t know? Are you that out of the loop? The rumors about us have been going on for a long time! Melody, come over here to your Second Brother."
"Second Brother?" Evan Fairchild’s brow furrowed.
"That’s right, Second Brother. She just acknowledged it," Shawn Fisher added with a grin.
"I... he... no... we... it’s just..." Melody Monroe didn’t know how to explain.
She had no idea how she’d muddled her way into this "Second Brother" situation. ’Wasn’t it just a casual address? Why is everyone taking it so seriously?’
Besides, did Master Rockwell not know about her relationship with Evan Fairchild? Or was he doing this on purpose?
Evan Fairchild was Mr. Fairchild’s son, born late in his life. In terms of generational seniority, he should be a generation above Jasper Rockwell and the others.
Once she sorted that out, Melody Monroe had an epiphany!
It wasn’t that Master Rockwell didn’t know about her relationship with Evan Fairchild—he was finding a new way to take advantage of him! By making her call him "Second Brother," he was effectively dragging Evan Fairchild’s seniority down a notch too.
Silas Rockwell was having a great time. As long as Evan Fairchild and Melody Monroe didn’t make their relationship public, he could keep getting the upper hand.
"Becoming her ’Second Brother’ seems a bit rash, don’t you think?" Evan Fairchild suddenly said.
Silas Rockwell suddenly felt a sense of crisis. Evan Fairchild was not someone to be trifled with. He had to be careful, lest he shoot himself in the foot.
