Chapter 509: Rose Shaw, I Won’t Let You Die

  • Next Chapter

She carefully washed her face, redid her makeup, and changed her clothes, making herself look as exquisitely beautiful as usual.

She took out her signature queen-red lipstick and applied it to her lips.

This was how she would leave this world.

She turned on the faucet and began to fill the bathtub.

The more Keith Coleman thought about it, the more something felt off. He immediately gave Melody Monroe a call.

Melody Monroe had just gotten out of the shower when an eager Evan Fairchild pulled her into his arms, inhaling her faint, sweet scent.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

Evan Fairchild was about to toss the phone aside, but Melody Monroe snatched it away.

"Melody! Do you know Rose Shaw’s address?"

"Are you trying to go harass Rose? I’m not telling you!"

"No, I just got off the phone with her, and I got the feeling she’s not doing well. The point is, I’m really worried about her right now! Her phone is off, and I can’t reach her!"

Hearing the panic in Keith Coleman’s voice, Melody Monroe immediately hung up and dialed Rose Shaw’s number.

"I’m sorry, the number you have dialed is turned off..."

Melody Monroe’s heart tightened.

’Rose Shaw would *never* turn off her phone!’

She immediately sent Keith Coleman the location.

As soon as Keith Coleman heard his phone chime, he rushed toward the address Melody Monroe had sent.

Melody Monroe paced around anxiously.

"What’s going on with Rose? Could she really be in danger?"

"Christopher Sterling had a son today," Evan Fairchild’s voice came from behind her.

Melody Monroe froze.

"Wasn’t Christopher Sterling’s son due in a month? Why so soon?" Melody Monroe blurted out.

"Why do you remember so clearly when Christopher Sterling’s son was due?"

"It’s not what you think! I have nothing to do with Christopher Sterling! Why are you getting jealous of him?"

"It’s because of the handkerchief."

"Handkerchief?" Melody Monroe paused. "What handkerchief?"

"You had Christopher Sterling’s handkerchief! The day Lana Sheffield hit you," Evan Fairchild reminded her.

That’s when Melody Monroe remembered the handkerchief.

"If you hadn’t brought it up, I would’ve completely forgotten! He apologized for Lana Sheffield and handed me a handkerchief. With so many people watching, it would’ve been rude to refuse. I was just giving him an out."

"Who cares about giving him an out!"

Melody Monroe was left speechless.

"I meant to throw it away later, but it slipped my mind."

Hearing Melody Monroe’s explanation, the lingering doubt in Evan Fairchild’s heart was completely resolved.

"You said Christopher Sterling’s child was born? So it was premature. Do you think that’s what’s affecting Rose?"

Melody Monroe muttered to herself.

She immediately took out her phone, scrolled through her contacts, and found a number.

"Hello, Rachel? This is Melody Monroe."

"Oh, Melody! Hi!"

"I wanted to ask you something. Did something happen with Rose today? Her phone is turned off, and I’m really worried about her."

"Rose... she..." Rachel hesitated.

"I’m not trying to pry about Stellaris. I just need to know what happened to Rose. Please."

"Today, Mrs. Sterling came to see Rose. They had a confrontation in the office, and Mrs. Sterling’s water broke. Eileen Scott is swearing that it happened because Rose pushed her," Rachel told her anyway.

Melody Monroe’s chest heaved with anger.

She grew increasingly worried about Rose Shaw’s safety.

Unfortunately, she was in Jansburg and couldn’t rush back. Thankfully, Keith Coleman was in Rockwellburg.
