Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 510: It’s Suicide
She quickly called Keith Coleman again.
"Melody, I’m downstairs, but I can’t get in without the code. I rang the doorbell, but no one’s answering. Do you know..."
"The code is 1669! It works for the keypad on the fingerprint lock too!"
"It’s open!" Keith Coleman said, phone in hand as he rushed toward the elevator.
Arriving outside the apartment, Keith used the same code to unlock the door. The moment he pushed it open, he was stunned by the sight before him.
’Is this a place for a person to live? It’s like a dark prison cell!’
’What kind of decor is this?!’
He couldn’t worry about that now. The floor was littered with wine bottles and shattered glass. It seemed Rose Shaw had been home when she’d answered the phone.
He hurried to search the rooms but couldn’t find any sign of Rose Shaw.
Suddenly, he noticed water overflowing from the bathroom. He immediately pushed open the bathroom door.
In the bathroom, he saw Rose Shaw.
She was lying in the bathtub, her body completely submerged in the water!
Keith Coleman’s heart clenched. He dropped his phone and pulled Rose Shaw out of the water.
The water was ice-cold! Her body was just as cold, with no warmth at all.
"Rose Shaw! Wake up!" Keith quickly laid her flat on the floor and began desperately pressing on her chest.
"Rose Shaw! Wake up! I won’t let you die!"
Hearing the agonized shouts through the phone, Melody Monroe’s face turned pale. She gripped her phone tightly, too scared to make a sound.
She had no idea what was happening on the other end.
Keith continued performing chest compressions and giving her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, not daring to waste a single second.
But after more than ten seconds, Rose Shaw still showed no reaction.
"No! This can’t be happening! Rose Shaw, wake up for me!" Keith pressed down harder, continuing the compressions.
"Rose Shaw, wake up! Wake up! I’m begging you! I love you! I can’t live without you! You can’t die! I won’t let you die!"
Hearing the sounds from the phone, Evan Fairchild also realized the gravity of the situation. He wrapped his arms around Melody Monroe’s trembling shoulders, comforting her in silence.
’Rose... What’s happening to Rose...’ Melody’s mind was in too much chaos to think.
"She’ll be okay," Evan Fairchild comforted her softly, holding her tightly in his arms.
Suddenly, Rose Shaw coughed up a mouthful of water and started breathing again, however faintly.
Seeing this, Keith continued the first aid, helping Rose Shaw cough up the water she had swallowed.
Finally, there was a slight rise and fall in Rose Shaw’s chest, but she had not yet fully regained consciousness.
Keith quickly found the phone he’d dropped, hung up on Melody, and dialed 911. Then he scooped Rose Shaw up into his arms and ran downstairs.
On Melody’s end, the call suddenly disconnected. Her heart sank.
"He revived her. He’s probably taking her to the hospital now."
’Rose, she has to be okay. She just has to be,’ Melody prayed silently.
Evan Fairchild held her, waiting for news together.
Keith Coleman climbed into the ambulance with Rose Shaw in his arms. The paramedics immediately began more professional treatment. Rose Shaw’s vital signs gradually stabilized, but she remained unconscious.
"Doctor, how is she? Is she still in danger?"
"She’s not out of the woods yet. She must have been submerged for a long time. It’s a miracle you were able to bring her back at all."
Keith Coleman looked at Rose Shaw, gripping her hand. "It’s okay. She’ll get better. She has to."
The moment they arrived at the hospital, doctors and nurses rushed Rose Shaw into the emergency room.
Keith Coleman sat on a bench outside, waiting anxiously.
