Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 526: Thrashing the Mistress on the Spot
"What do we do now?" Erin Coleman asked, starting to panic.
"What are you afraid of? You haven’t done anything illegal. Melody Monroe is such a fool. Even if she knew those people were out to get her, she shouldn’t have made a move right now."
Erin Coleman looked at Aya Winters. ’How could Aya still be in the mood to think about this at a time like this?’
"What kind of leverage can she get from catching those guys now? They didn’t cause her any real harm. That short video went so viral, it was practically free publicity for her."
"But I don’t think it’s that simple. If those men really have been caught, they’ll definitely confess that I was behind it. Melody Monroe will figure out you were the one pulling the strings."
"Are you afraid Melody Monroe will use the same tactics on me that she used on Rhona Hughes and Raymond Ford? When have I ever done anything illegal? If she wants to find some dirt on me, she’ll have to be good enough to find it first."
"Alright, that’s enough. The jewelry store just got a new collection in. I’m going to go pick something out."
"Okay."
Aya Winters took her luxury van to the jewelry store.
Knowing she was coming, the staff had already cleared the store to serve her exclusively.
When she entered, several sales associates immediately gathered around her.
Dressed in a fur coat, Aya Winters sat on the sofa, exuding the air of a wealthy socialite.
"What’s new in stock?"
"Miss Winters, look. This is a 13-carat diamond. It’s the largest and highest-quality diamond excavated from the mines this year."
Aya Winters glanced at it, and in that single glance, she was captivated.
"This diamond is also known as the mini version of Angel’s Tears."
"Angel’s Tears." Aya Winters thought of that gemstone.
To this day, no one knew who had given it to Melody Monroe.
But the gemstone belonged to Melody Monroe, and the thought of it left a bitter taste in her mouth.
She adored jewelry and loved buying expensive pieces, but now, with the thought of Eternal Tears in her mind, the stone before her seemed to dim considerably.
It wasn’t just this one; all the pieces she had bought before suddenly seemed to lose their appeal.
Just then, a woman who looked to be in her forties walked in. When Aya Winters saw her, her expression turned cold. If it had been anyone else, she would have been merely annoyed.
But with this particular woman, she felt a pang of guilt.
"Mrs. Coleman, are you also here to look at jewelry today?" a sales associate immediately asked as she went to greet her.
Mrs. Coleman walked toward Aya Winters and forced a smile. "Well, if it isn’t the famous actress, Aya Winters?"
"You must be Mrs. Coleman?" Aya Winters quickly stood up and extended her hand.
"We’ve met once before. I didn’t expect you to remember me."
"A woman with your elegance is unforgettable, Mrs. Coleman."
"You certainly have a silver tongue. Is that the same skill you use to sweet-talk men?"
Aya Winters’s face stiffened. "Wrap up this diamond for me. I’m buying it."
"A diamond like this must be at least seven figures, right? Miss Winters, you’re just an actress. Where would you get that kind of money? You can’t make that much from a single show, can you?"
"Mrs. Coleman, I don’t know what you mean by that." Although Aya Winters questioned her, her voice lacked conviction.
After all, the money she was using to buy the diamond belonged to Mrs. Coleman’s husband.
When she was just starting her career, she met the real estate tycoon Carl Coleman. They had maintained their relationship to this day, still meeting from time to time.
And Carl Coleman granted her every wish.
