Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 559: What’s the Relationship? Who Are You to Care?
"Okay." Ian Monroe handed the phone to Rose Shaw.
Rose Shaw took the phone, stood up, and walked to the side.
"Rose, I want to go public with Ian’s identity. We can’t hide it any longer."
"I saw the news online, so I have a general idea of what’s happening. We hid Ian’s identity before because of various concerns, but those are no longer an issue. I’ll spend the next two days getting things ready in Jansburg while I wait for you to come back."
"Mhm."
"Go all out for the Best Supporting Actor award."
"There are still three hours until voting closes. We still have a chance to pull ahead."
"Let me know if anything comes up."
"Okay."
Melody hung up the phone and walked toward the banquet hall.
She could feel the way people’s gazes shifted when they saw her, and she could hear the sound of whispers.
’News sure travels fast.’
When Melody didn’t return after a while, Evan Fairchild got up to look for her. He had just reached the corridor when he saw her walking in from the other side.
He was about to go back when a figure walked over.
"President Fairchild, hello," Lois Hughes said, rushing to greet him.
She was blocking his path, and he wouldn’t be able to get past unless she moved.
Evan Fairchild’s gaze was glacial, as if it could freeze the very air around them.
"My parents heard that Mrs. Fairchild and Master Fairchild aren’t in good health and told me I must pay them a visit."
"Who are your parents?"
"I’m a relative of Miss Grant’s, from her mother’s side. I was also planning to visit Miss Grant," Lois Hughes hurriedly explained the connection.
"Since you’re often out of the country, President Fairchild, you might not be aware of my connection to Miss Grant."
"What does that have to do with me?" Evan Fairchild retorted coldly.
"My parents are resting. There’s no need for strangers to disturb them." After speaking, Evan Fairchild turned and walked in another direction.
Lois Hughes watched Evan Fairchild’s retreating back and clenched her fists. Unwilling to give up, she hurried after him.
"President Fairchild! Don’t be fooled by Melody’s act."
Evan Fairchild stopped in his tracks.
Lois was thrilled and immediately caught up to him. "She has a son out of wedlock and is constantly involved with other men. Now she’s set her sights on you."
"You’re saying Melody is trying to seduce me?"
"Yes," Lois Hughes immediately nodded.
"And what about you?" a voice suddenly rang out.
Melody stood nearby, watching Lois pester Evan.
"I... I was just worried about President Fairchild."
"And what business is it of yours to be concerned? So what if I’m trying to seduce President Fairchild? At least I have what it takes. What about you? What do you have to seduce anyone with?" Melody shot back.
Lois was so stunned she was speechless, glaring furiously at Melody.
"Am I right, President Fairchild?" Melody looked at Evan Fairchild. He had been smiling ever since she appeared.
"You are." There was a smile in Evan’s eyes as he nodded emphatically. "But you’d better keep your word, Miss Monroe. If you’re going to seduce me, please take it seriously. And don’t just love me and leave me. You have to see this seduction through to the end."
Lois Hughes was speechless.
Evan Fairchild strode over to Melody, took her by the hand, and pushed open a door.
Melody, pulled along by him, struggled to keep up with his long strides in her high heels.
Evan Fairchild simply turned and swept her up into his arms.
"Put me down! Things are chaotic enough as it is. What am I supposed to do if someone sees us?!"
They were in a long, dark corridor. It rounded a corner, revealing several doors.
Evan pushed open one of the doors and carried her inside.
It was a private lounge, furnished like a hotel suite. Melody stared blankly at the room; she had no idea this place even existed.
Evan set Melody down, pinning her against the wall...
