Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 585: Uninvited Guest
This worried Melody Monroe greatly.
Even if he was a bit of a loner, he still needed a normal social life.
Plus, with Evan Fairchild hiring a private tutor, he didn’t even have to go to kindergarten anymore, giving him even fewer opportunities to interact with other children.
Then again, with Ian’s intelligence and his current studies, he’d probably be out of place in kindergarten anyway.
So, after much thought, Melody Monroe bought some cake molds to bake a cake for Ian Monroe at home with her own hands.
In the morning, Tommy, Keith Coleman, Rose Shaw, and Jasper Rockwell came over with decorations and decked out the entire house, both inside and out in the yard.
Even without other kids around, the birthday party atmosphere was already impeccable.
Ian Monroe, wearing a small apron, was in the kitchen making a cake with his mom while Rose Shaw helped record a video.
Jasper Rockwell stood by the cake with a lollipop in his mouth, his eyes glued to the chocolates and frosting. He had absolutely no resistance when it came to sweets.
"Jasper, can you please stop sneaking frosting? There aren’t enough candies left for the cake anymore," Ian Monroe finally said, unable to take it anymore. He pulled all the frosting over to his side.
Jasper Rockwell laughed sheepishly. "It’s just too good. I couldn’t help myself."
"Keith, Tommy! Get Jasper out of here!" Melody Monroe ordered, cutting him off.
Jasper was dragged out, looking reluctant. The moment he spotted Bunny sleeping soundly on the sofa, he immediately ran over. "Bunny, I have a lollipop for you!"
Hearing Jasper’s voice, Bunny’s eyes shot open. Its whole body went rigid before it leaped off the sofa and bolted in Ian Monroe’s direction.
The wasabi-flavored lollipop had made it question its very existence.
Ever since then, this was how Bunny reacted whenever it saw Jasper.
Jasper, finding this no fun, sat down on the sofa.
Rose Shaw finished recording, edited the video, and posted it through Melody Monroe’s account.
The mother and son made a cake together, and at the end, Ian Monroe held it up to thank everyone.
"I just can’t help but smile like a doting aunt whenever I see Ian."
"Happy birthday, Ian! Grow up well!"
"Happy birthday."
Less than an hour and a half after the video was posted, "Ian Monroe’s Birthday" and "Melody Monroe Bakes with Son" were trending again.
But it was only up for a short while before Keith Coleman suppressed the traffic and took it down.
However, it was still enough time for some haters to find their opportunity.
"Melody Monroe, a good mother? Didn’t she say she wasn’t showing her son’s face to protect him? Now she’s using him for clout? What a load of bullshit!"
"The child is innocent. He just didn’t get a good mother."
"Since she’s already latched onto some big shot, why is she still showing her face in public? Does she not know her place? Has she given up on marrying into a rich family and just can’t bear to leave the entertainment industry?"
In the past, Melody Monroe might have been angry for a while after seeing comments like these.
Now, she faced them with complete composure.
’Just be yourself,’ as her son had said.
"Let’s leave the cake for now and get the rest of the food ready. We’ll be eating soon."
"Is there anything else I can help with?"
"Keith, remember to record a video later."
The whole house was bustling with activity.
Evan Fairchild had an important video conference and was alone in the study.
Melody Monroe, still in her apron, was clearing the cake-making tools from the table when the doorbell suddenly rang.
"Who is it?" Jasper Rockwell, who was sitting in the living room, was the first one to get up and head for the door.
The moment he saw the face on the video intercom screen, he yelled, "Holy shit!"
"Who is it?" Melody Monroe asked, walking over.
