“Mom, I just heard Keith say that you’re going to focus on studying from now on and won’t be filming anymore. Should we go back to Rockwellburg?”

“You want to go back to Rockwellburg?”

“Yeah. Let’s go back tomorrow!” Ian Monroe nodded.

Melody Monroe looked toward Keith Coleman. “Is there anything else important here in Jansburg?”

“Ahem, ahem!” Keith Coleman cleared his throat, as if trying to remind Melody of something.

Melody was confused. ‘What does he mean by that?’

Ian Monroe shot him a cold glare, and Keith immediately looked out the car window, not daring to make another sound.

“I feel like I’m forgetting something really important coming up in the next few days. Why can’t I suddenly remember it?” Melody muttered to herself.

“No! There’s nothing! Mom, you should rest for a bit. We can talk about this when we get home,” Ian Monroe said quickly, a flash of panic in his eyes as if he were deliberately avoiding something.

The moment she saw Ian’s reaction, it all came back to Melody.

She immediately checked her phone, and sure enough! Tomorrow was Sweetie’s first birthday!

Candy had already told her!

Sweetie was celebrating her birthday at the main Fisher family residence in the afternoon. To make it more convenient for them, Candy was also hosting another party at her home in the evening, just for them.

Since Candy had already made such thoughtful arrangements, there was no way Melody could refuse, so she had readily agreed.

Looking at Ian’s reaction, Melody pulled the blanket aside and gathered Ian Monroe into her arms.

“Do you dislike Sweetie that much?”

“She’s annoying.”

‘Annoying? So it’s not that he dislikes her.’

‘If he disliked her, he would have just said so.’

‘But… “annoying”…’

‘What does that mean?’

“Kids are all annoying and a hassle,” Ian Monroe added.

Keith Coleman and Miller were speechless.

‘Aren’t *you* a kid? A kid who isn’t even five years old!’

Melody didn’t know what to say.

‘A four-year-old looking down on a one-year-old is like a ten-year-old looking down on a five- or six-year-old. I guess… that’s normal.’

“We already promised we’d go. We can’t break our promise, you know.”

“I’ll go, but…”

“But what?” Melody asked immediately.

“But I’m not holding her, and she is *not* allowed to gnaw on me!”

“Okay,” Melody nodded. “Don’t worry, Mom will protect you.”

Ian Monroe looked at his mom, a flicker of doubt crossing his face for the first time.

‘Mom has said that a few times now, but whenever that Tubby comes around, she still ends up gnawing on my face and covering it with slobber!’

“Trust Mom. I’ll do my absolute best,” Melody promised again.

Only then did Ian Monroe nod.

“Keith, is the place for the celebration tonight all booked?”

“It’s booked, but the others probably won’t be there for a while. It’s still early, so you can go home first. We can have Winter Kane pick you up later.”

“Okay, that sounds good. Let’s head home first,” Melody nodded.

‘We’ll definitely be out late tonight, so I should take Ian home first anyway.’

As soon as she got home, Melody took a hot shower. She came downstairs a little while later, wrapped in a bathrobe.

“Ma’am, I’ve made some ginger tea. Come have some so you don’t catch a cold. The flu has been really bad lately.”

“Alright.”

Melody leaned back on the sofa and pulled out her phone.

‘Evan Fairchild is overseas, so with the time difference, he probably isn’t up yet.’

‘I wonder if he’ll be able to make it back in time for Sweetie’s first birthday party tomorrow.’

‘I’m also not sure what to get Sweetie for her birthday.’

‘Then again, even if he were here, he probably wouldn’t have any suggestions. I’ll still have to decide on my own.’

“Ian!” Melody called up the stairs.

Ian Monroe and Bunny immediately came running down the stairs.
