Transmigrated as the Villain Boss's Precious Darling
Chapter 768: Paying a Visit
Madman Feng frowned deeply. The trail had gone cold again, but at least there was some news. The day he finally found his beauty surely wasn’t far off.
“Rosalind Green’s parents live in Tristone, don’t they? They don’t know her exact address either?”
“Her parents do live in Tristone, but Rosalind Green’s mother went with her this time. Her father is tight-lipped and won’t say a word. But don’t you worry, Boss. Rosalind Green’s younger sibling is a big mouth. We’ll definitely be able to get the information from them.”
“Focus, and stop dragging your feet.”
Madman Feng shot him an impatient glare. They couldn’t even handle a simple task like this. Before, when he didn’t have anyone he was interested in, he was pestered constantly. Now that he’d finally found someone, his men couldn’t even locate her.
“We’ll definitely find her, but… Boss, Rosalind Green has a husband,” Will reminded him.
“She’ll divorce him.”
Madman Feng’s reply was curt and decisive. ‘Did he really have to ask about something so obvious? Idiot.’
The corner of Will’s mouth twitched. He had no choice but to remind him, “Boss, a divorce isn’t just up to you. That couple is getting along just fine, why would they split up? Unless… my future sister-in-law and you have already… you know… and pledged to spend your lives together?”
Sensing Madman Feng’s menacing glare, Will quickly corrected himself. He was certain his boss and Rosalind Green were still innocent—they had probably only met once at most. ‘Tsk, where does the boss get the confidence to just make a couple get a divorce?’
Madman Feng froze. He genuinely hadn’t considered whether Rosalind would be willing or not. All he knew was that he had to marry this beauty. If she was willing, he’d marry her properly. If not, he’d take her by force. ‘What’s there to worry about?’
“Find her first, and we’ll talk then. Whether I marry her is my business. What are you getting so worked up for!”
Madman Feng shot him a disdainful glance, shoved his hands into his overcoat pockets, and strode away. Will quickly jogged to keep up, his calves immediately cramping in protest. The boss had dragged him out for a run every morning for the past two days, and his old back was about to give out.
“Boss, I’m going to call Ace and ask about the situation over there.”
Will ran halfway before turning back. He’d forgotten to call Capria earlier. They had been gone for nearly half a month, and he had no idea how things were over there.
“Mm.”
Madman Feng didn’t stop walking. He wasn’t worried about Capria; Ace was more than capable of handling things. All he cared about right now was marrying his beauty.
Rosalind Green and her party had already entered the city. Adrian Hawthorne hadn’t come along, as he had other business to attend to. Tang Xiaonan and Jim Thorne were with them. Phoebe Huxley carried a basket of Qingming dumplings, half savory and half sweet, while Rosalind Green held a basket of sticky rice dumplings—half with salted pork and half with sweet bean filling.
Juliana Rhodes and the others had gone to shop at the department store, while Phoebe Huxley and Rosalind Green headed to the Lowe family’s home, with Jim Thorne leading the way.
“Aurelia, what should I call them when we see them?” Rosalind asked, feeling a bit apprehensive. It was her first time making a social call like this; in the past, her husband and son had always handled such things.
“Isn’t their surname Ye? Just call them Comrade Ye.”
Phoebe Huxley didn’t think it was a big deal. ‘All we have to do is drop off the gifts and say thank you. What’s there to be nervous about?’
June Lowe was in the yard hoeing the ground alongside a robust woman in her thirties or forties. This was the housekeeper Winston Lowell had hired, whose surname was Zhao. June Lowe called her Auntie Zhao, and she was an honest, diligent, and simple woman.
Mrs. Lowe was sitting in the yard, basking in the sun. Her expression was serene, and she even had a faint smile on her face. Her complexion looked much better than it had a few days prior.
“Let’s plant roses over there. In a few more days, when the weather gets a little warmer, we’ll be able to plant the cuttings,” Mrs. Lowe said softly, a nostalgic expression on her face.
When she was a girl, her family had an exceptionally large garden, simply called the Rose Garden. The one who took care of it was Titus Lowe. He kept the garden so beautiful that every year, when the roses were in full bloom, it became one of Tristone’s famous sights, and many people would come to visit.
