Chapter 309: boyfriend II
Chapter 309: Chapter 309: boyfriend II
Christopher had already finished breakfast by the time he returned to his dormitory room.
It was still early.
He glanced at the clock.
8:10 a.m.
He had left his phone behind while he went down for breakfast.
He picked it up from the table.
Maybe Vivienne was awake by now.
He had been thinking he should probably send her a good-morning message.
He unlocked his phone.
He saw the new message notification.
Vivienne.
A smile immediately touched his lips.
She had beaten him to it.
He opened the message.
It was long.
He read.
Good morning. Hope you’ve already had breakfast. I mean, that’s probably better before your match, right? Hehe. Perhaps next time I’ll bring you one. I just woke up and... well... I’ll see you later! And ah... love you.
Christopher stared at the screen for a moment.
A quiet warmth settled in his chest.
He smiled.
She really had put all of that into one message.
He read it once more, a little more slowly this time.
Then he started typing.
Good morning. I already had breakfast.
He paused.
There was simply too much to reply to in one message.
Christopher shook his head with an amused smile.
They were both awake anyway.
Why text when he could simply call her?
He stopped typing.
Then pressed the call button.
--
Vivienne was still staring at her phone when another notification appeared.
She looked down.
Christopher calling...
Her eyes widened.
Oh my God.
She had just finished her call with Damian, and here was Christopher.
Her actual boyfriend.
And she had just told him she loved him.
And now he was calling.
She quickly sat up and answered.
"Uh... hey. Good morning."
"Good morning."
His voice was warm, and she could hear the faint amusement in it.
Vivienne’s cheeks warmed.
"Did you get my message?"
"I did."
"Oh."
There was a brief pause.
"I just had breakfast," Christopher said. "And I’m getting ready for the match."
"Oh, good."
She could hear the smile in his voice.
Then he added,
"And that was very sweet of you. But you don’t have to go out of your way to bring me breakfast."
Vivienne bit her lip.
"Okay."
A short pause followed.
Then Christopher asked,
"Have you eaten?"
"Not yet."
"Do you want me to bring you something?"
Vivienne blinked.
"You’re going to bring me breakfast?"
"If you want."
"Oh..."
She glanced toward the bathroom.
"I need to take a bath first and get ready."
"All right."
He didn’t hesitate.
"Then I’ll bring something over after an hour."
"An hour?"
"It’s still early."
Vivienne looked at the clock.
8:12 a.m.
He was right.
"My match isn’t until ten."
She smiled.
"Okay."
Christopher continued,
"Then we can walk to the gym together, if you’d like."
Vivienne’s heart fluttered.
"Wouldn’t you need to warm up?"
"I do."
"Then..."
She hesitated.
"Shouldn’t you be there earlier?"
"It’s still early."
She could hear the quiet confidence in his voice.
"I’ll be fine."
"Oh."
Vivienne smiled.
"Okay, then."
She glanced at the clock again.
"I’ll see you at nine?"
"Yeah."
"All right."
There was a tiny pause.
Then Christopher said,
"And... love you too."
Vivienne’s heart felt like it was about to break free from her ribcage.
Oh my God.
She didn’t even know what to say.
She bit her lip, trying to keep her smile from splitting her face. Her eyes practically disappeared from how hard she was smiling.
"Ah... yes... l-love you... uhm, yeah... see you..."
Christopher chuckled softly over the line.
"Okay. See you."
The call ended.
She stared at her phone for a moment.
Then she pressed it against her chest.
Oh my God.
She squealed.
"He told me love you too!"
From the other bed, Claire threw a pillow at her.
Vivienne caught it and looked over.
"There’s still a single person in this room, you know."
Vivienne laughed.
"Hehe. Sorry."
She handed the pillow back.
"Anyway, I’m gonna get ready now!"
Claire rolled her eyes, smiling as she pulled the covers back over herself.
"Go."
Vivienne grinned and hurried toward the bathroom.

(Damian POV)
The call ended.
Damian lowered his phone and stared at the screen for a moment.
Then he smiled.
She really had sounded sleepy.
Poor thing.
He could practically picture her curled up in bed, probably refusing to get up because she was still tired.
Yesterday had been a long day.
A very good one.
His thoughts drifted back to the afternoon—the way she’d eventually relaxed beside him, dinner afterward, the way she’d laughed at him, those little looks she’d given him.
And, of course, everything that had happened between them before dinner.
Damian let out a quiet breath.
He’d enjoyed every second of being with her.
And now that he’d had her like that, he wanted more.
Not just physically.
Although, admittedly, that was a fairly significant part of it.
He’d been hoping to see her again today.
Maybe spend the morning with her.
Take her somewhere for lunch.
And if they ended up alone—
His mouth curved.
Well.
He certainly wouldn’t have complained.
Then he remembered her voice.
I don’t feel very well.
His expression softened.
Right.
Not today.
If Vivienne wasn’t feeling well, that changed everything.
He could wait.
He’d rather make sure she was okay first.
She’d told him last night that she’d think about giving them a chance.
Damian shook his head faintly.
It was almost ridiculous how quickly everything had happened.
He’d actually told himself, just a little over two weeks ago, that he was done with her. He’d felt used, and he’d decided he would stop making himself so available to Vivienne.
Then Saturday came.
He saw her again, and his resolve lasted about as long as it took to be around her.
Almost embarrassing, really.
Then the storm happened.
They got stranded together.
And somehow, they ended up having sex.
Their first time.
Both of them.
Sunday, they woke up beside each other.
It had been... perfect.
And Damian understood that she still wasn’t ready for a relationship, so he suggested they become friends with benefits.
By some miracle, she agreed.
Monday was almost like a sick joke.
She had a date with Christopher, and all this time Damian had thought the reason she wasn’t ready was Anthony.
Then Anthony asked her to reconsider their engagement.
She rejected him.
At least that was good.
But Damian had gotten to her afterward, and they ended up together again. She seemed receptive to him, and afterward they even had supper together.
Then yesterday, he decided to simply do what he could.
Because she let him.
And then she asked him if he wanted more.
Of course he did.
So he admitted it.
And she told him she’d think about whether they could become something more.
Four days.
That was all.
Four days, and somehow Vivienne had already become such a huge part of his thoughts that he was lying in bed at eight in the morning planning what he could bring her for lunch.
