Chapter 310: Chapter 310: boyfriend III

(Vivienne POV)

Vivienne glanced at the clock.

8:15 a.m.

Then she remembered.

Christopher had said he’d come in about an hour.

And she’d been the one to say—

Nine.

Her eyes widened.

"Oh my God."

Forty-five minutes.

She had forty-five minutes to get ready.

She’d thought she had two hours.

Two whole hours to take her time.

A proper shower.

Dry her hair.

Maybe curl it.

Choose what to wear.

Do her makeup without rushing.

She did not even consider breakfast.

Instead, Christopher was coming at nine.

And he was bringing breakfast.

Her boyfriend was coming to pick her up.

Vivienne stared at the clock for another second.

Then she moved.

She hurried into the bathroom.

The shower itself took about thirteen minutes.

She wasn’t lingering. She had to wash her hair, rinse everything properly, brush her teeth, and gargle with mouthwash.

By the time she stepped out, it was already 8:28.

"Okay. Okay."

She grabbed the hair dryer.

The moment she turned it on, Claire looked over from her bed.

"What’s wrong?"

"I need to be ready by nine!"

Claire glanced at the clock.

8:28.

She looked back at Vivienne.

"That’s a mission."

"I know!"

Vivienne was already trying to dry her hair while staring anxiously at the mirror.

Claire immediately got up.

"Give me that."

"What?"

"The dryer."

Vivienne handed it over.

Claire took over, directing the warm air through Vivienne’s damp hair while Vivienne hurried to the mirror and started on her makeup.

"Thank you!

"Of course. What do you want with your hair?"

"I wanted to curl it."

Claire looked at the clock.

"You’re not curling it."

"I know."

"Natural is fine."

Vivienne could only nod.

Claire moved the dryer through another section.

Vivienne continued with her make-up.

A little powder.

A touch of blush.

Mascara.

Lip gloss.

Nothing heavy.

Just enough to make her look fresh.

8:52.

Claire finally switched off the dryer.

"There."

Vivienne immediately ran her fingers through her hair, checking it.

It was dry.

Not curled.

But soft and neatly arranged.

She brushed it out and fixed the way it fell around her face.

8:54.

She glanced at the clock.

Six minutes.

"Clothes."

Thankfully, she’d already chosen what she wanted to wear last night.

She slipped into the dress she’d picked for the fencing match, added her outerwear, then quickly put on her earrings and shoes.

8:58.

Vivienne stopped in front of the mirror.

She stared at herself.

Her hair wasn’t curled.

Her makeup was simple.

She hadn’t had time to fuss over anything.

But—

She looked nice.

Actually, she looked pretty good.

Though.... it could have been better!

But she wasn’t going to make Christopher wait.

She’d told him nine.

She’d meant nine.

She didn’t want to give the wrong impression.

Especially not today.

But she did want to look better.

This was their first time going somewhere together in public as a couple.

Her first time walking across campus beside him as his girlfriend.

People would see them.

People would know.

Vivienne’s heart fluttered.

She smiled at her reflection.

Well... at least she still looked like a natural beauty.

Claire looked at her and laughed.

"Don’t worry. You look really good."

Vivienne blushed.

"Thank you, and for the help too."

Then, she glanced at the clock.

8:59.

"And... I have to go!"

Claire laughed.

"Go!"

Vivienne hurried out of the room.

(Damian POV)

Damian glanced toward the clock.

8:20 a.m.

Why wait?

She was awake. He’d just talked to her.

And if she really wasn’t feeling well, there was no reason for him to sit around for hours before checking on her.

He could just go now.

He could shower, find a pharmacy, get her something she might need, and pick up some breakfast while he was out.

Then he could bring everything to her.

A little surprise.

Based on what Vivienne told him before, she would appreciate things like that.

Or at least... he thought she would.

He could already imagine the look she’d give him when he showed up.

Probably a slightly exasperated expression while trying to hide how truly pleased she was.

Then she would act spoiled and perhaps demand that he feed her himself.

He’d do it anyway.

A quiet smile touched his mouth.

Apparently, that was who he was now.

Damian pushed himself out of bed.

He hadn’t eaten yet.

Hadn’t even showered.

Breakfast could wait.

Medicine first.

Food too.

His thoughts wandered back to yesterday once more.

The sex had been incredible.

All their intimate encounters had been.

But somehow, that wasn’t what stayed with him most.

It was everything around it.

Having her beside him afterward.

Taking her to dinner.

Watching her light up over dessert.

Feeling her lean against him.

Hearing her say she’d think about them.

That was what had gotten to him.

He wanted more of those moments.

More Vivienne.

More time together.

More of the ordinary things that somehow never felt ordinary when she was there.

He headed toward the bathroom.

He turned on the shower.

Warm water began to run.

Damian stood there for a second, shaking his head with a quiet laugh.

He really was gone for her.

Completely.

And the worst part?

He didn’t even mind.

Damian didn’t linger.

Twenty minutes later, he was dressed and heading out, his hair still slightly damp.

He hadn’t bothered with breakfast.

He could eat later.

For now, he had something more important to do.

At 8:40am, the university town was already awake.

Damian walked toward one of the nearby pharmacies, his thoughts returning to Vivienne as he went.

What exactly did she mean by not feeling well?

A headache?

A fever?

Maybe she was simply exhausted.

Yesterday had been a long day.

He frowned slightly.

He should have noticed how tired she’d been.

At the pharmacy, he picked up something suitable for a headache and fever, along with a few other basics the pharmacist recommended. He hesitated for a moment before adding a small bottle of water.

Then he stepped back outside.

Breakfast.

He still needed breakfast.

There was a small café a short walk away, and he headed there without much thought.

Something light.

Something warm.

He decided on chicken noodle soup.

That seemed safe enough.

He also picked up a small bread roll and a cup of tea.

Vivienne could decide what she wanted.

Damian paid, collected everything, and glanced at the time as he stepped back onto the pavement.

9:00 a.m.

He looked at the paper bag in his hand.

He was actually doing this.

Showing up at her dorm first thing in the morning with medicine and breakfast.

A quiet laugh escaped him.

He really had become ridiculous.

He adjusted his grip on the bag and started walking back toward the university.

The morning air was cool, the streets around the university filled with students heading toward their various events.

Sportsfest was in full swing.

Damian barely paid attention to any of it.

His thoughts were already at the women’s residence hall.

He wondered if Vivienne had managed to get back to sleep after their call.

Probably.

She had sounded exhausted.

He hoped she was still resting.

Although if she was awake, that would be better.

He could give her the food, make sure she took whatever she needed, and leave her to rest.

He wasn’t expecting to stay long.

Well—

Maybe a little longer.

He smiled to himself.

He’d see.

By the time he reached the university grounds, it was a little after nine.

Damian continued toward the women’s residence hall, the paper bag warm against his palm.

He was already imagining her reaction when she saw him.
