Chapter 315: Chapter 315: boyfriend VIII

The second bout ended a few minutes later.

Christopher won again.

After removing his mask, he returned to the competitor area, still breathing a little heavily from the match.

Vivienne was already waiting for him with the bottle of water.

She held it out.

"Here."

Christopher smiled faintly and took it.

"Thank you."

He drank, taking a few long swallows.

Vivienne watched him.

Even after two bouts, he somehow still looked ridiculously good.

When he lowered the bottle, he glanced at her.

"I think I’ll just take a quick shower and change."

He reached for his fencing bag.

"Are you all right if I leave you here for a while?"

Vivienne nodded immediately.

"Yeah. Yeah, I’ll just wait here."

"All right."

He adjusted the strap of his bag.

"I’ll be quick."

"Okay."

Christopher gave her a small smile before turning toward the changing rooms.

Vivienne watched him walk away.

She remained standing there for a moment.

Then she smiled helplessly to herself.

Oh God.

Her eyes stayed fixed on the doors.

He was going to take a shower.

She glanced toward the changing-room doors again.

Wait.

He’s going to shower.

She bit her lip.

I’m suddenly jealous of the water.

She almost laughed at herself.

What is wrong with me?

She was completely gone.

Then—

Poke.

"Ah!"

Vivienne jumped.

She turned around.

Claire was standing beside her, trying not to laugh.

Amelia and Eleanor were right behind her.

Vivienne stared at them.

"What are you doing here?"

Claire raised an eyebrow.

"What are we doing here?"

Vivienne blinked.

"Yeah."

Amelia laughed.

"Can’t we be here to support Eleanor?"

"And," Claire added with a grin, "I told Amelia about you and your new boyfriend."

Vivienne narrowed her eyes.

"Oh."

Claire’s grin widened.

"So naturally, we had to see this for ourselves."

Vivienne looked between them.

"How long have you been here?"

Claire’s expression turned innocent.

"Quite a while."

"Since when?"

Claire grinned.

"Since you’ve been wiping Christopher Archibald’s forehead."

Vivienne froze.

Her eyes widened.

"Oh my God."

She immediately covered her face.

"You saw that?"

"All of it," Amelia said.

Eleanor laughed.

"You were very focused."

Vivienne groaned.

"That’s so embarrassing."

Claire laughed.

"Why? You were just wiping your boyfriend’s forehead."

Vivienne dropped her hands and facepalmed.

"Ugh. You know what I mean."

Amelia laughed.

"Honestly? I would have done the same thing."

Claire nodded.

"Exactly. If I had a boyfriend who looked like that, I’d be wiping his forehead too."

Vivienne stared at them.

"Stop."

Claire laughed.

"You were totally staking your claim, girl."

"Don’t say it out loud!"

That only made them laugh harder.

Vivienne shook her head, trying not to smile.

"But seriously..."

Claire squeezed Vivienne’s arm.

"We’re happy for you."

Vivienne smiled.

"Thanks."

Amelia suddenly remembered something.

"Oh, by the way, about tonight."

"The party starts at nine."

Amelia nodded toward Eleanor.

"She’s already coming."

Vivienne looked at Eleanor.

"You are?"

Eleanor shrugged.

"I lost my bout earlier, so I figured I might as well go."

Vivienne’s eyes widened.

"Oh! I’m sorry. I didn’t even notice."

Eleanor laughed.

"It’s okay."

"We can see you were a little occupied."

Claire snorted.

"A little?"

They all laughed.

Vivienne covered her face again.

"Okay, okay."

Amelia hooked her arm through Vivienne’s.

"But seriously, you better come with us."

Vivienne hesitated.

"But I don’t know if my boyfriend would agree..."

Claire stared at her.

"You’ve been dating him for one morning."

"I know."

"And he already has the say on your schedule?"

Vivienne giggled.

"It’s not that. I just think since we’re together, I should tell him about this kind of stuff and ask first."

Amelia laughed.

"We’re your girlfriends, you know. And I’m pretty sure your Christopher won’t mind you going with us."

Vivienne glanced toward the changing rooms.

"Yes, but I just need to tell Christopher first."

Claire immediately grinned.

"Oh, I’m sure he’ll understand."

Amelia smiled.

"Fine. Then we’ll wait."

Vivienne nodded.

"Okay."

They stood there chatting for another few minutes.

Vivienne kept glancing toward the changing-room doors.

Claire noticed every single time.

Then, finally, the doors opened.

Vivienne’s head turned immediately.

Christopher stepped out, his fencing bag slung over one shoulder.

He had changed into clean clothes, and his platinum-blond hair was still slightly damp from the shower.

Vivienne stared.

Again.

Claire caught it.

She nudged Amelia.

Amelia pressed her lips together to keep from laughing.

Eleanor simply shook her head.

Christopher looked toward them and seemed mildly surprised to find all three girls standing with Vivienne.

Then his gaze settled on her.

A small smile appeared.

He walked over.

"Sorry. Did I keep you waiting?"

Vivienne shook her head quickly.

"No. Not at all."

She turned toward her friends.

"Oh, Christopher. These are my friends."

She gestured toward them.

"This is Claire, and this is Amelia."

Christopher looked at them and gave a polite nod.

"Hello."

"Hi," Claire said.

"Hello, Senior Archibald," Amelia replied.

Christopher smiled slightly.

"Just Christopher is fine."

Amelia blinked.

"Oh."

She smiled.

"Okay. Christopher."

Eleanor gave him a small nod.

"Archibald."

Christopher looked at her.

"Eleanor."

The two exchanged an easy smile.

They already knew each other from the fencing team.

Amelia suddenly brightened.

"Oh, by the way..."

Christopher looked at her.

"We were just asking Vivienne to come with us to a party tonight."

Vivienne immediately looked embarrassed.

"And she said she needs to ask permission from her boyfriend first," Claire added.

"Claire!"

The girls laughed.

Christopher glanced at Vivienne.

Then back at the girls.

Amelia smiled sweetly.

"So, Christopher..."

She clasped her hands together.

"Can we borrow your girlfriend for the evening?"

Vivienne looked at him expectantly.

Christopher was quiet for a moment.

His gaze shifted to Vivienne.

She really had wanted to ask him.

It was their first day together, and yet she was already thinking to tell him about her plans and ask what he thought.

Something about that was unexpectedly sweet.

A faint smile touched his lips.

"If you want to go, of course you can."

Vivienne blinked.

"Really?"

"Of course."

Her face immediately brightened.

"Okay."

Amelia grinned.

"See? I told you he wouldn’t mind."

Vivienne smiled.

"Thank you."

Christopher nodded.

Then Amelia added casually,

"It’s the third-years’ party. Starts at nine. William Dean invited us."

Christopher paused.

"William Dean?"

"A third-year," Amelia explained.

"I know him."

He had received an invitation to the same party.

He hadn’t really planned on going.

With his polo match tomorrow, he had thought it would be better to have a quiet evening.

But now...

Vivienne was going.

He glanced at her.

Perhaps he could drop by for a while.

He had plenty of time before tomorrow’s match.

And perhaps it would be nice to surprise his new girlfriend.
