Chapter 324: Chapter 324: Movie III

Eventually, Christopher glanced down.

Vivienne was already looking at his face.

She quickly turned toward the screen.

Christopher’s mouth curved slightly.

He looked back at the movie.

A few seconds passed.

Then he felt her gaze again.

This time, when he turned, she didn’t look away quickly enough.

Her eyes moved over his face.

His hair.

His eyes.

His mouth.

Especially his mouth.

Vivienne realized he had caught her.

Her cheeks turned pink.

She looked away.

Then, after a moment, she looked back.

Christopher understood.

Of course he did.

He had understood for some time.

The movie.

The horror film.

The hand.

The leaning.

The staring.

She was practically spelling it out for him.

And yet she still looked so shy about it that he couldn’t help finding her endearing.

He had wanted to kiss her too.

That wasn’t exactly a difficult conclusion to reach.

He liked her.

He was attracted to her.

And he had already learned yesterday that he liked kissing her very much.

So he wasn’t going to pretend he didn’t want to.

His mouth curved into a small smile.

He lifted his free hand.

His fingers gently touched her chin.

Vivienne’s breath caught.

He turned her face toward him.

For a brief second, they simply looked at each other.

Then he kissed her.

Softly.

Certain.

Warm.

Vivienne’s eyes fluttered closed.

She relaxed into him almost immediately.

Her fingers curled slightly against his chest.

Christopher felt the response and felt his own smile disappear into the kiss.

He liked this.

He liked the warmth of her in his arms.

The softness of her against him.

The way she seemed to melt closer whenever he kissed her.

And he liked the fact that she was his girlfriend now.

When he finally pulled back, Vivienne stayed close.

Her face was burning.

She lowered her eyes.

Then, almost shyly, she wrapped both arms around his waist.

Christopher looked down at her.

A smile touched his lips.

She was ridiculously cute.

He pressed a brief kiss to her forehead before looking back toward the screen.

Vivienne tried to do the same.

She really did.

For a little while, she watched the movie.

She even reacted to one of the scenes.

But it didn’t last.

Her attention drifted back to Christopher.

She looked at him.

Then at the screen.

Then at him again.

Christopher noticed.

He said nothing.

He was beginning to suspect she had completely forgotten why they were there.

Which, if he was honest, wasn’t much different from himself.

He tried to watch the movie anyway.

Vivienne stopped pretending.

She simply stared at him.

Well.

Apparently, subtlety wasn’t happening today.

She had chosen the movie.

She had chosen the horror movie.

She had admitted she was afraid.

She had taken his hand.

She had leaned into him.

And now he had already kissed her.

So what was the point of pretending anymore?

She looked at him again.

Christopher felt her eyes on him.

He turned.

Their eyes met.

This time, Vivienne didn’t look away.

She simply held his gaze.

Her cheeks were still pink.

Her expression was shy.

But there was something else there now too.

A quiet expectation.

Christopher exhaled softly through his nose.

He knew exactly what she wanted.

And he wanted it too.

He leaned toward her.

She met him halfway.

Their lips touched again.

This kiss lasted longer.

Christopher’s arm tightened around her shoulders as he drew her a little closer.

Vivienne’s hands moved from his waist to his shoulders.

She held onto him as the kiss deepened.

The first kiss had been soft and almost careful.

This one wasn’t.

There was more certainty in it.

More warmth.

More of the attraction they had both been trying not to acknowledge quite so openly.

When she gasped softly at the deepening rhythm, Christopher slid his tongue past her parted lips, sweeping inside to deepen the kiss completely.

The feeling of his mouth on hers, the slick softness of his tongue, and the unbelievable way he tasted sent her mind spinning. Before she could overthink it, her own tongue hesitantly swirled against his, tangling with his in a sweet, feverish rhythm that made her entire body throb with warmth.

As their tongues thoroughly explored each others’ mouth,

Christopher’s free hand drifted down from her shoulder, sliding over her coat to rest firmly against her chest. Through the layers of her coat and dress, his broad palm cupped the full, soft weight of her breast, squeezing gently right over her clothes.

A soft, helpless moan escaped Vivienne’s lips, vibrating straight into his mouth. She didn’t push him away; instead, her body melted closer against his, her fingers clutching his shoulders for support.

The sound of her soft moan and her complete lack of resistance hit Christopher like a physical pull. Right there in the dark theater, feeling her surrender to his touch, he felt the sharp edge of his own restraint fraying. But as the heat between them flared higher, he forced himself to pull back just a fraction.

They were in a public cinema in the middle of a mall.

He looked down at her. Her cheeks were flushed crimson, her eyes heavy and shy, but there was no fear in her expression—only a quiet, breathless warmth. Christopher knew right then, with absolute certainty, that she wanted this just as much as he did. He could tell by the way she had clung to him, the way she had let him hold her breast without a second of hesitation.

The public space suddenly felt entirely wrong. He wanted somewhere quieter, somewhere private where he didn’t have to hold back.

His expression softened, his dark eyes fixed on hers.

"Vivienne."

"Yes?"

"Would you like to go somewhere else?"

She blinked.

"Somewhere else?"

He nodded, a faint, knowing smile touching his lips.

"If you’d rather stay, we can."

She understood the question immediately. Her face grew even warmer, her gaze dropping briefly before coming right back up to meet his. She knew exactly what going somewhere private meant.

She gave a tiny, clear nod.

"Okay."

Christopher held her gaze for another second, his smile deepening.

"All right."

He took her hand.

Vivienne slipped her fingers naturally between his.

Together, they stood.

Neither of them looked back at the movie.

They quietly made their way down the aisle and out of the cinema.
