Chapter 325: hotel I
Chapter 325: Chapter 325: hotel I
The moment they stepped out of the cinema, Vivienne felt the difference.
The bright lights of the mall seemed almost too clear after the darkness of the theater.
She was still holding Christopher’s hand.
Neither of them had said anything.
They simply walked.
Vivienne’s heart was beating much too quickly.
She kept her eyes ahead.
Then toward the shops.
Then toward the floor.
Anywhere but Christopher.
Because if she looked at him, she was afraid he would somehow know exactly what was going through her head.
Where were they going?
What were they going to do?
And—
Was he going to take her somewhere private?
The thought made her cheeks burn.
She had been hoping for exactly that.
And now that it might actually happen, she suddenly felt incredibly shy.
This was their first date as boyfriend and girlfriend.
Their first real day together.
They had only officially started dating yesterday.
And yet—
She had been talking to him for almost a month.
She had spent weeks thinking about him.
Texting him.
Finding excuses to see him.
Wondering what it would be like if he actually liked her back.
And now she was walking beside him, holding his hand, wondering if they were about to spend the rest of the afternoon alone together.
How had everything happened this quickly?
Vivienne swallowed.
She glanced at him.
Christopher was walking beside her, calm as ever.
He looked completely composed.
Which somehow made her even more nervous.
They reached the entrance.
The valet area was quiet.
Christopher gave the attendant his ticket.
They waited.
Vivienne stood beside him, fingers still intertwined with his.
She wondered if he could feel how warm her hand was.
A moment later, his car was brought around.
The attendant stopped in front of them.
Christopher thanked him and took the keys.
Then he walked around to the passenger side.
He opened the door for her.
Vivienne looked at him.
For half a second, she almost wondered if she should say something.
Anything.
Instead, she quietly got in.
"Thank you."
Christopher closed the door gently.
A moment later, he was in the driver’s seat.
The engine started.
They pulled away from the mall.
For several minutes, neither spoke.
The silence wasn’t uncomfortable.
It was simply—
charged.
Vivienne sat with her hands folded loosely in her lap.
She looked out the window.
Then at the dashboard.
Then at the passing buildings.
She didn’t look at Christopher.
Not really.
Every time she felt herself wanting to, she stopped.
Christopher noticed.
He glanced at her briefly.
She was unusually quiet.
Not unhappy.
Just shy.
Very shy.
He wondered if she had begun having second thoughts.
He didn’t want to assume anything simply because she had agreed to leave the cinema with him.
"Vivienne?"
She turned immediately.
"Yes?"
He looked at her for a moment.
"Are you all right?"
She nodded quickly.
"Yes."
A pause.
"I’m fine."
Christopher studied her expression for only a second before returning his eyes to the road.
She didn’t look frightened.
Just nervous.
He understood.
They were moving quickly.
Perhaps faster than either of them had expected.
He didn’t say anything else.
He simply kept driving.
Vivienne looked out the window again.
She didn’t know where they were going.
But she had a feeling.
And when the hotel came into view, her heart nearly stopped.
It was a grand five-star hotel, its entrance framed by tall glass doors and polished stone.
Vivienne stared.
Oh.
They were actually going to a hotel.
She turned toward Christopher.
He was already looking at the entrance.
Her cheeks immediately warmed.
But this wasn’t a motel tucked away somewhere.
It was a proper hotel.
Elegant.
Expensive.
Public.
Somehow, that made her feel less self-conscious.
Christopher drove beneath the covered entrance.
A valet approached.
He handed over the keys and stepped out.
On the other hand, another personel opened Vivienne’s door.
She stepped out of the car.
Christopher came around.
She took his hand.
They entered the lobby together.
The interior was quiet and luxurious.
Soft lighting.
Polished floors.
A large floral arrangement near the reception desk.
A few guests sitting in the lounge.
Nothing about the place felt secretive or questionable.
And yet Vivienne’s heart was still racing.
Christopher glanced at her.
She wasn’t pulling away.
She wasn’t saying no.
She was simply shy.
He understood.
He approached the reception desk.
"Good afternoon. Do you have a suite available now?"
The receptionist checked.
Christopher gave his details, paid, and accepted the key card.
Vivienne stood nearby, trying very hard to behave normally.
Inside, however—
Oh my God.
They were checking into a hotel.
What was happening?
Christopher returned to her.
"Ready?"
Vivienne looked up at him.
She nodded.
"Yes."
They walked toward the elevators.
Neither said much.
There wasn’t really anything to say.
They both knew why they were there.
The elevator doors opened.
They stepped inside.
The doors closed.
Vivienne stared at the numbers above the door.
Christopher stood beside her.
Their hands found each other again.
His thumb brushed once over her knuckles.
She looked down.
Then up at him.
He was already looking at her.
Neither smiled.
Not because they weren’t happy.
Because suddenly the reality of it was settling over both of them.
The elevator stopped.
The doors opened.
They walked down the quiet corridor.
Christopher stopped outside their room.
He unlocked the door.
Then stepped aside for her.
"After you."
Vivienne entered.
She looked around.
The suite was beautiful.
A sitting area.
Large windows.
A bedroom beyond another doorway.
Everything elegant and perfectly arranged.
She slowly turned.
Christopher closed the door behind them.
And suddenly—
They were alone.
Really alone.
Vivienne’s heart began racing again.
She looked around once more.
Then at Christopher.
Neither of them moved.
She could feel the nervousness returning.
Not because she wanted to leave.
Quite the opposite.
She just couldn’t believe she was actually here.
With him.
After everything that had happened in the last twenty-four hours.
Christopher watched her quietly.
He could see the nerves in her expression.
He also saw that she wasn’t retreating.
He didn’t want to rush her.
Vivienne reached up and slowly slipped off her coat.
She folded it over her arm.
Now she stood there in her simple white sleeveless dress.
She looked at him.
Her cheeks were pink.
Her fingers tightened slightly around the coat.
"Um..."
Christopher waited.
Vivienne swallowed.
"What now?"
For a moment, he simply looked at her.
Then a small smile touched his lips.
