Chapter 329: Chapter 329: hotel V

Vivienne woke slowly and smiled.

She was still lying in Christopher’s arms.

For a few moments, she didn’t move.

She simply lay there, warm beneath the sheets, listening to his quiet breathing behind her.

Then the memories returned.

The date.

The movie.

The hotel.

And everything that had happened afterward.

Her cheeks immediately grew warm.

Oh my God.

They had actually done that.

On their first day as a couple.

She covered her face with one hand.

It was almost impossible to believe.

She had hoped something might happen today.

Of course she had.

She was attracted to him. She liked him. She had spent weeks wanting to get closer to him.

But she hadn’t actually expected this.

Not on their first date as boyfriend and girlfriend.

Everything had happened so quickly.

Yesterday, she had confessed that she liked him.

Yesterday, he had agreed to date her.

Today, they had gone on a date.

They had watched a movie.

And now...

Oh my God.

They had made love.

The thought made her face burn.

But beneath the embarrassment was something else.

Something warm.

Something almost dizzyingly happy.

Because it hadn’t felt like simply having sex.

Not to her.

Not with Christopher.

She had been in love before.

In her previous life, she had spent eight years with someone. She had known what it was like to be comfortable with another person, to know them intimately, to have attraction slowly become familiarity.

And then there was Damian.

The attraction between them was intense. She couldn’t deny that. She enjoyed being with him, and he satisfied her in ways she hadn’t expected.

But Christopher was different.

There was affection woven into everything.

The way he looked at her.

The way he touched her.

The way he had kept making sure she was comfortable.

The way she had felt close to him afterward.

It wasn’t just that she had enjoyed herself.

It was the happiness underneath it.

The feeling of being with someone she genuinely cared about.

Someone she was falling for.

Her heart fluttered.

Making love.

That was what it felt like.

The realization made her want to hide under the sheets.

Oh my God.

She was hopeless.

She had been Christopher’s girlfriend for less than twenty-four hours, and somehow her mind had already gone from boyfriend to making love.

She let out a tiny, embarrassed laugh.

What was happening to her?

And yet she couldn’t stop smiling.

She was happy.

Really, really happy.

She liked him so much.

And now she had this memory with him.

Something that belonged only to the two of them.

She stayed there for another moment, simply enjoying the feeling.

Then she remembered the time.

Vivienne turned her head toward the bedside clock.

6:20.

Her eyes widened.

"Oh."

Her friends.

The party.

She had promised them she’d be back at the dorm.

She couldn’t stay here all evening.

She carefully began shifting toward the edge of the bed.

The mattress moved behind her.

Before she could get very far, an arm slipped around her waist and pulled her gently back.

Vivienne froze.

Christopher was awake.

Or at least awake enough to notice her moving.

His chest settled against her back, his arm resting comfortably around her waist.

His voice was low and sleepy.

"Where are you going?"

Vivienne smiled.

"The time."

"What time?"

She glanced toward the clock.

"Six twenty."

He looked toward it over her shoulder.

A brief pause.

"Already?"

"Mm-hm."

She shifted slightly in his arms.

"My friends are waiting for me."

Christopher seemed to wake a little more.

"Right."

Vivienne smiled.

Then she became conscious of another problem.

Her mouth felt dry.

Very dry.

And suddenly she became painfully aware that she hadn’t brushed her teeth.

She hesitated.

"And..."

Christopher waited.

"I need to brush my teeth."

A quiet laugh escaped him.

Vivienne immediately covered her face.

"Don’t laugh."

"I’m not."

"You are."

"A little."

She groaned.

"I don’t want to talk to you with horrible breath."

Christopher smiled against her hair.

"It’s fine."

"It is not fine."

She could practically imagine what she must look like too.

Her hair was a mess.

Her face was probably still flushed.

And she was very aware that she had just spent the afternoon with him in a hotel room.

She needed to wash up.

Immediately.

She finally slipped out of his arms and sat on the edge of the bed.

For a moment, she simply sat there.

Then she carefully stood.

There was a little soreness when she moved, enough to make her slow down.

Christopher noticed.

His sleepy expression sharpened with concern.

"Are you all right?"

Vivienne glanced back at him.

"Yes."

She gave him a small smile.

"I’m just a little sore."

He nodded.

"All right."

No teasing.

Just concern.

Her heart gave another little flutter.

She had barely taken two steps toward the bathroom when she heard the mattress shift behind her.

Before she could turn around, Christopher stepped toward her.

Then, without saying anything, he slipped one arm beneath her knees and the other around her back.

Vivienne’s eyes widened.

He lifted her easily.

She immediately covered her mouth with both hands.

Her face went completely red.

She couldn’t even speak.

Christopher glanced down at her.

The sight of her covering her mouth with her hands, so obviously self-conscious, made the smallest smile appear on his lips.

He carried her into the bathroom.

Inside, he set her gently on her feet in front of the sink.

"There."

Vivienne nodded quickly.

Christopher turned toward the bathtub and opened the taps.

Water began running into the tub.

Then he glanced back at her.

"Go ahead."

Vivienne looked at the hotel amenities arranged beside the sink.

She immediately reached for the toothbrush.

She was not going to talk to him until she had brushed her teeth.

Absolutely not.

She unwrapped it, put toothpaste on the brush, and started brushing.

Christopher checked the bathwater, adjusting the temperature as it filled.

Vivienne caught his reflection in the mirror.

Then she suddenly remembered.

She was standing there completely naked.

So was he.

Her face heated again.

She quickly looked down and continued brushing.

A few moments later, Christopher came over to the other side of the sink.

He picked up the second toothbrush from the hotel set, opened it, put toothpaste on it, and began brushing his teeth.

Vivienne glanced at him through the mirror.

He was completely calm.

Of course he was.

Meanwhile, she was trying not to combust from embarrassment.

She kept brushing.

When she finally finished, she rinsed her mouth thoroughly.

Then she checked her breath.

Once.

Twice.

Okay.

Much better.

She picked up a bottle of water, took a small drink, and finally felt capable of speaking to him like a normal person again.

Christopher finished brushing and rinsed his mouth.

Vivienne glanced at him.

Then immediately looked away.

"Uhm..."

He looked at her.

"I’m sorry."

"For what?"

She hesitated.

"I didn’t mean to inconvenience you."

Christopher’s brow furrowed slightly.

"With what?"

Vivienne looked down.

Now that she was trying to explain it, she felt even more embarrassed.

But she felt like she had to.

Maybe he would think she was making too much of it.

Maybe he would think she was acting as though this were her first time.

When it clearly wasn’t.

Before transmigration, her ex had been the only person she had ever been with.

And in this life, Damian had been her first.

This was simply the first time she had ever felt this particular kind of soreness afterward.

And, for some reason, she cared far too much about what Christopher might think.

"Ah... my soreness."

She gestured vaguely toward herself.

"That you had to help me."

She gave a small, awkward laugh.

"Actually, I’m okay. I can walk and..."

Her cheeks turned pink.

"I’m not trying to act like it’s my first time and..."

She hesitated again.

"I think it might be the friction from the condom. That’s why I’m extra sore."

She swallowed.

"Or maybe because you’re..."

She stopped.

Christopher waited.

Vivienne’s face became even redder.

"...quite big."

She gave a tiny, embarrassed laugh and covered her mouth again.

"Uh..."

Then she glanced at him.

"And it’s just been twenty minutes since we... ah..."

Her eyes dropped.

"...made love."

Christopher laughed softly.

Not because he thought she was exaggerating.

He knew she wasn’t.

If anything, he found it adorable that she was so concerned about what he might think.

And the fact that she had called it making love rather than simply sex hadn’t escaped him either.

That was rather cute.

"You don’t have to apologize," he said.

Vivienne peeked at him from behind her fingers.

"And you don’t have to worry that I think you’re exaggerating."

Her shoulders relaxed slightly.

"Really?"

"Really."

His expression remained calm and reassuring.

"I know you’re sore."

There was no teasing in his voice.

Only certainty.

Vivienne nodded shyly.

"Okay."

Christopher glanced toward the bathtub.

"The water should be ready soon."

Vivienne nodded.

"Okay."

She looked toward the tub.

Christopher had actually prepared a bath for her.

Her expression softened.

"Thank you."

He looked at her.

"For what?"

She smiled shyly.

"Everything."

A faint smile touched his lips.

"You’re welcome."

The water continued filling the tub.

And somehow, standing there beside him, Vivienne felt even happier than she had when she first woke up.

She had absolutely no idea how she had gone from confessing her feelings yesterday to this today.

But she wasn’t complaining.

Not even a little.
