Chapter 330: Chapter 330: hotel VI
The water continued filling the tub.
Christopher glanced toward it.
Then he walked over.
He reached down and tested the temperature with his hand.
Warm.
He let it run for another few seconds before turning off the taps.
Then he looked back at Vivienne.
"Come here."
Vivienne blinked.
Then she walked toward him.
Christopher waited until she was close before slipping one arm beneath her knees and the other around her back.
He lifted her easily.
Vivienne immediately blushed.
"Christopher..."
He gently lowered her into the warm water.
The heat immediately surrounded her.
She sank back against the tub, letting out a small breath.
Christopher looked down at her.
"Try to relax."
Vivienne nodded.
"Okay."
He straightened.
Vivienne looked up at him.
He was already turning away when her hand reached out and caught his.
Christopher stopped.
He glanced back at her.
Vivienne suddenly became very aware of what she was about to say.
Her cheeks warmed.
"Won’t you... join me?"
Christopher smiled.
Amusement was evident in his gray eyes.
"I don’t think that’s a good idea."
Seeing the look he gave her, Vivienne’s face became even hotter.
Did he think she was inviting him to have sex again?
Well...
It wasn’t really a bad idea.
Except she was still sore, and they had only finished about half an hour ago.
Would he think she was too wanton now?
"Oh."
She immediately released his hand.
"That’s not what I meant."
Christopher’s expression softened with amusement.
Vivienne looked down at the water.
"I just thought... it would be nice if you joined me."
She made a small gesture toward the tub.
"Just... to be together."
Christopher chuckled softly.
"I understand."
Vivienne looked up.
He smiled.
"It’s just that we’re already running late, and it will be faster if I shower."
"Oh."
She nodded.
"Right."
She tried to hide her embarrassment by looking down at the water again.
Of course.
He was right.
They were already running late.
And somehow, she had managed to embarrass herself over nothing.
Again.
Christopher turned toward the shower.
Vivienne watched him for a moment.
Then she quickly sank a little lower into the bath.
She could still see him through the clear glass.
Which was probably not helping her at all.
She looked away.
Then immediately looked back.
She bit her lip.
It should be illegal to look that good while showering.
But, well...
He was her boyfriend.
She was allowed to look.
At least, she hoped so.
Hahaha.
She tried to focus on something else.
She really did.
But Christopher was right there, completely focused on his shower, and she couldn’t help stealing another glance.
Her thoughts drifted.
How she wished she could just stay here with him.
They could stay holed up in this room for the rest of the evening instead of going back to the dorm and getting ready for a university party.
She wasn’t even particularly interested in going.
Parties like these usually meant drinking, flirting, and people trying to have a good time with whoever caught their attention.
She already had a boyfriend.
Why would she want to socialize with a bunch of people when she could just stay here with him?
Then she remembered her friends.
They were waiting for her.
She had promised she would come back.
Vivienne sighed.
The lengths she went to for friendship.
A few minutes later, Christopher turned off the shower.
Vivienne looked up.
He stepped out, wrapped a towel around himself, and dried his hair before rubbing the towel over his shoulders.
He glanced toward her.
"Do you want something to eat before we go?"
Vivienne blinked.
"Eat?"
She thought for a moment.
"I don’t know. Would we have enough time?"
"Let me check."
"Okay..."
Christopher stepped out of the bathroom.
Vivienne remained in the bath for a few more minutes.
Then she finally got out and took a quick shower herself before drying her hair.
When she joined Christopher in the room, it was already 7:10 p.m.
Christopher was already dressed.
Her clothes had been placed neatly on the bed.
Vivienne paused when she saw them.
He was so thoughtful.
The simple gesture made her feel strangely shy.
She walked over to the bed and picked up her clothes.
She started getting dressed.
"So... did you order anything?"
"No."
Christopher glanced at her.
"They said it would take some time, so I thought it would be better to just grab something on the way back."
"Oh..."
She nodded.
"That’s probably better."
Vivienne reached into her bag for her phone.
The screen lit up.
Several messages.
Her eyes widened.
Amelia.
Where are you?
Another.
Are you coming back?
And then—
It’s already seven.
Vivienne winced.
"Oh..."
Christopher looked at her.
"What happened?"
"Ah... my friends. They’re already looking for me."
She quickly typed a reply.
I’m coming back soon.
A moment later, another message appeared.
Soon when?
Vivienne stared at it.
Then typed:
I’m on my way.
The reply came almost immediately.
You better be.
Vivienne laughed softly.
Christopher’s lips curved slightly.
"Let’s go?"
Vivienne nodded with a smile.
"Okay."
She picked up her bag.
They left the room together.
--
The hotel lobby was quieter now.
Christopher proceeded with the checkout while Vivienne stood nearby.
She couldn’t help feeling a little self-conscious.
The receptionist probably knew exactly what had happened.
What?
They had checked into a five-star hotel, booked a suite for the night, and were checking out less than three hours later.
It probably looked exactly like what it was.
Two very attracted university students had apparently decided to use a hotel suite for a few hours.
Vivienne wanted to disappear.
Okay.
That was embarrassing.
She tried not to think about it.
Once Christopher finished checking out, they walked outside.
The valet brought the car around.
Christopher thanked him and took the keys while another staff member opened the passenger door for Vivienne.
She climbed inside.
Christopher walked around to the driver’s side and got in.
A moment later, they were on their way.
--
After a few minutes, they stopped at a drive-through.
They decided on burgers, fries, and sodas.
Once they were back on the road, Vivienne opened the bag.
Despite her embarrassment, she couldn’t help herself.
She was genuinely hungry.
It was already around 7:30, and she hadn’t eaten much at lunch.
She opened one of the burgers and took a bite.
Christopher glanced at her.
"Good?"
"Mm-hm."
She nodded happily.
Then, after another bite, she looked at the burger in her hand.
She hesitated.
She had already bitten it.
She looked at Christopher.
Then at the burger.
Then back at Christopher.
"Do you want...?"
She stopped.
It suddenly felt strangely intimate.
Why?
She had kissed him.
They had been much closer than this.
And yet offering him the burger she’d already bitten suddenly made her heart race.
Christopher noticed her hesitation.
The corner of his mouth lifted.
"Let me try."
Vivienne’s eyes widened.
He leaned slightly toward her while keeping his eyes on the road.
She carefully held the burger toward him.
Christopher took a bite.
Then settled back.
Vivienne stared at him.
Oh my God.
Why was she reacting like this?
She had kissed him.
She had French-kissed him.
They had spent the afternoon making love.
And now she was losing her mind because he had taken a bite from the same burger she had bitten.
What was wrong with her?
She looked down at the burger.
Then at him.
Christopher glanced at her.
"What?"
"Nothing."
She immediately took another bite.
Christopher smiled.
After that, Vivienne simply took it upon herself to continue feeding him.
Since he was driving, it seemed only fair.
She held the burger out for him when he wanted another bite.
Then she offered him fries.
And when he wanted a drink, she held the soda for him as well.
Somehow, it became completely natural.
And that made her smile.
Eventually, the university came into view.
The car slowed near the university gates, close to the residence halls.
Vivienne looked outside.
Her smile faded slightly.
They were almost there.
She didn’t want the day to end.
Not yet.
Christopher pulled over.
His driver was already waiting nearby.
He got out and handed the driver the keys while Vivienne stepped out as well.
Christopher walked toward her.
Vivienne couldn’t help smiling.
She shyly reached for his hand.
He let her take it.
Her fingers slipped naturally between his.
They walked hand in hand toward the women’s residence hall.
When they reached the entrance, they stopped.
Neither seemed in a hurry to say goodbye.
Vivienne looked up at him.
"So..."
Christopher smiled faintly.
"So."
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Your polo match tomorrow... what time was it again?"
"One p.m."
She nodded.
"I’ll be there."
Christopher’s expression softened.
"All right."
A brief pause.
"I’ll look for you."
Her heart fluttered.
"Okay."
They stood there for another moment.
Then Christopher said,
"I’ll see you later."
Vivienne smiled.
"Okay."
She assumed he simply meant tomorrow.
Or sometime soon.
She didn’t know he had something else in mind.
She stepped a little closer.
"Goodnight."
Then she rose slightly and kissed him on the lips.
Just a brief, sweet kiss.
When she pulled away, her cheeks were pink.
Christopher looked at her with that quiet smile she was already beginning to recognize.
"Goodnight, Vivienne."
She smiled.
"Goodnight."
She turned toward the residence hall.
After a few steps, she glanced back.
Christopher was still standing there.
Watching her.
She smiled again and gave him a little wave.
Then finally went inside.
