Perhaps adopted, that might count.

Alka silently thought.

"But I must remind you, no matter how you manage to borrow it, you will undoubtedly have to face the Mother of the World with the vast, ocean-like consciousness of pain."

The White Mist Serpent was keenly aware of how dangerous that ocean-like consciousness of pain was for the beings in the Real World.

Faced with this situation, Alka was relatively familiar.

Involuntarily, he asked, "How long do you think I can last in my current state?"

"You are a king among the dream realm, a Divine presence in the dream realm. Based on our model sample, you should be able to completely endure without being overwhelmed by this ocean of pain.

But at the same time, you are a being of reality. You possess a perfect connection of body and soul in the Real World, albeit not very stable and somewhat fragmented, but still connected together.

Though you were deliberately created as an example like this, you are still an anomaly, merely guided by fate. There is no other scenario to answer us, so we don’t know."

Alka nodded.

After standing and thinking for a while, he said, "I’ll start to touch the world’s ocean of sorrow here. When I am about to be overwhelmed and immersed, can you pull me out?"

"No problem," replied the White Mist Serpent without hesitation.

After all, for these extremely powerful dream realm beings, that ocean of sorrow is nothing. They are, by nature, exceedingly strong Spiritual World beings.

They almost max out their resistance against various damages in the Spiritual World.

They can even traverse that ocean of pain and initially help the world distribute such pain until it accumulates ever more.

Hearing the White Mist Serpent’s reply, Alka was reassured.

Finally, he gently closed his eyes, allowing his consciousness to delve deeply into the world of the dream realm, flowing towards that ocean of sorrow in the world.

He had simulated this before, knowing that if he wished to seize control of the world’s Divinity, he inevitably had to let his consciousness touch this ocean of sorrow.

The duration he could endure would determine the time limit for seizing these control rights, so he must understand his limits.

This issue was Alka’s primary reason for coming to the White Mist Serpent.

His consciousness slowly immersed into the world’s ocean of sorrow.

Upon entering, Alka’s image began to change.

Illusory antlers appeared atop his head, and phantom spirit images appeared upon his body.

These were symbols of his dream realm being.

They could effectively help him resist the erosion in the world’s ocean of sorrow.

As he soaked himself within, an ocean-like sadness and pain surged into his mind.

This time would naturally not rapidly influence him as before, being quickly engulfed.

Alka could feel it, yet similarly would not be directly affected.

The White Mist Serpent outside silently waited, watching this scene.

Time gently flowed on.

After approximately only ten minutes or so, Alka began to sink.

The moment he sank, he was pulled out.

Afterwards, Alka opened his eyes.

"Why did you fail just as you entered? Can such a short time enable you to seize the world’s authority?" The White Mist Serpent’s doubtful voice sounded in Alka’s mind.

Didn’t I last ten minutes?

Suddenly, thinking anew, for these eternal spiritual entities, how does ten minutes differ from a moment?

So helplessly, he nodded.

"It’s enough for me."

"Is it? That’s good then. But your mental resilience is too low."

"Are your expectations for an infant too high?"

The White Mist Serpent fell silent.

Thinking it over, indeed.

The time Alka has spent as the Dream Realm King feels like just yesterday; to them, Alka is merely a recently born powerful dream realm being.

"You’re right, seems I’m too old."

...

In front of the new Demon Defense Wall.

A wave of demons continued their assault.

On the human side atop the wall, they could only barely resist. Each demon attack left a large number of corpses above, aside from the majority of demons, there were naturally many humans.

This extreme consumption by sheer numbers forced the humans into retreat.

The chaos from the day and night mingling in the sky made the demons of the World Scar flourish.

"Has our plan been exposed?" asked a slender, gaunt demon.

His body looked like a layer of red skin tightly attached to a skeletal frame.

Plus, with his relatively tall figure, he resembled a bamboo pole, yet his body was studded with numerous sharp spikes.

Hearing his words, standing beside him was the Devouring Mouth.

Both demons’ gaze fell upon the area on the wall frequently defended by Alka.

"I don’t think so, maybe he’s just busy with other matters lately.

After all, such entities can’t always be in the frontline, right?"

Upon hearing Devouring Mouth’s words, this Spiked Demon nodded, opting not to say more.

Their conversation naturally concerned the long-unseen Alka.

Since the bait plan began preparation for implementation, they’ve been making some modifications and arrangements for the details.

Such duties naturally could only be entrusted to those powerful demons with minimal chaotic emotion in their minds, at least capable of staying calm.
