Triple X System
Chapter 432: No Blood
The burning in Yua’s throat felt like she had swallowed liquid copper mixed with crushed glass. Every time she breathed, the raw blue magic she had accidentally ingested from Kaelen’s neck corroded her insides, slowing the natural regeneration that her vampire blood usually provided.
She pushed herself up from the seabed, her black dress torn to ribbons and stained with mud. Crimson blood—her own—dripped from dozens of clean, precise lacerations across her shoulders, thighs, and abdomen.
Vesper walked forward casually, her single eye locking onto Yua’s trembling form. "You’re slowing down, little leech. Your body is trying to heal, but without fresh blood to fuel your core, you’re just burning through your own life force."
"Shut up," Yua rasped, wiping a dark line of blood from her chin.
She slammed her hands together. The spilled crimson liquid pooling around her feet—her own blood this time—ignited into bright, boiling red flames. She forced the liquid to shape itself into four massive, curved scythe blades that hovered in the dark water around her.
"Blood Weave: Quadrant Slash!" Yua yelled, throwing her arms out.
The four scythes shot forward, tearing through the water with terrifying speed. She aimed two at Kaelen’s legs and two at the twin sisters, Lyra and Mirei. If she couldn’t bleed them, she would just sever their limbs and compromise their casting stability.
"Predictable," Thorne grunted.
He stepped directly into the path of the scythes, raising his heavy bronze gauntlets. A thick, shimmering barrier of blue-and-silver mana erupted in front of him.
*CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!*
The blood blades slammed into the barrier, cracking it slightly, but they couldn’t penetrate the solid wall of compressed spell-energy.
"Now, Kaelen!" Vesper ordered.
Kaelen appeared above Yua like a ghost. His silver rapier flickered, delivering three lightning-fast thrusts.
*STAB! STAB! STAB!*
The blade bit deep into Yua’s right shoulder, ribcage, and thigh. Pain exploded through her nerve endings, making her cry out as she was hurled backward into a ruined stone pillar. The impact shattered the ancient structure, burying her under a shower of heavy debris.
Yua lay in the dark rubble, coughing violently. Blood leaked into her eyes, blurring her vision.
*It doesn’t make sense,* she thought frantically, her mind racing as she tried to process the tactical nightmare she was trapped in. *I can’t drain them because they replaced their blood with liquid magic. My blood control relies on manipulating the iron and liquid within a living target, but their bodies are entirely sustained by the council’s spell-arrays. Every time I try to force my mana into their veins, their blue liquid magic neutralizes it like an antibody!*
She couldn’t bleed them. She couldn’t manipulate their insides. And worst of all, whenever she used her own blood to attack, she was literally throwing away her remaining stamina. They were wearing her down on purpose, letting her bleed herself out while they stood safely behind their mana barriers.
"Is she dead yet?" Lyra asked, floating above the rubble pile with her obsidian staff resting casually over her shoulder.
"Not yet," Mirei answered, her voice echoing her sister’s in eerie unison. "Her core is still humming. But it’s faint. Very faint."
The stone debris shifted.
Yua pushed a heavy slab off her chest, slowly rising to her feet. Her skin had turned unnaturally pale, almost translucent, while the lacerations on her body bled freely into the dark water.
"Look at you," Kaelen smirked, twirling his rapier with practiced ease. "Standing there bleeding to death. You’re fighting an battle you lost before we even descended into this trench. Just lie down and let us finish this."
Yua stared at him. The cold mockery in his voice, the arrogant smirks on the faces of all five executioners, the utter helplessness she had felt for the past ten minutes—it all coalesced into a single, white-hot ball of absolute fury deep inside her chest.
*They think I’m weak because they stripped away my blood tricks,* Yua thought. Her pulse began to accelerate, pounding like a heavy war drum in her ears. *They think a pureblood vampire is just a parasitic leech that needs a host to survive.*
"You think..." Yua started, her voice dropping to a low, unnatural octave that made the surrounding water vibrate. "...that because you replaced your blood, you took away my power?"
Vesper frowned, her single eye narrowing slightly. "Thorne, crush her. Don’t let her talk."
Thorne lunged forward, raising both gauntlets to deliver a crushing blow.
Yua didn’t move. She didn’t raise a blade, nor did she attempt to cast a spell. She simply lifted her head and opened her eyes wide.
Her pupils vanished, replaced by glowing, abyssal crimson rings that pulsed like twin dying stars.
**Vampiric Gaze: True Sovereign’s Majesty!**
An invisible, suffocating wave of pure, unadulterated apex predator aura exploded outward from Yua’s body. The dark water turned heavy, thick as lead, as the ancient bloodline pressure of a true vampire princess crushed the area.
Thorne froze mid-air. His eyes widened in sudden, uncontrollable terror. His limbs refused to obey his brain as an instinctual, primal fear—the fear of a simple animal staring into the jaws of a mythical monster—paralyzed his nervous system.
"W-What is this?!" Thorne gasped out, his teeth chattering uncontrollably. "My... my body won’t move!"
"Thorne! Get back!" Vesper screamed, her calm composure instantly shattering as she felt the sheer, terrifying scale of Yua’s hidden aura.
"Too late," Yua rasped.
Her dark dress dissolved into a swirling vortex of pure red mist. Long, razor-sharp black claws extended from her fingertips, and twin elongated fangs tore through her lower lip, dripping with venom. Her hair flew wildly around her face like a storm of dark ribbons. She had abandoned all tactical restraint, entering her full Bloodlust Mode—the primal, uncapped state of a true vampire.
She didn’t use a spell. She didn’t need one.
*BOOM!*
Yua disappeared. The speed was so absurd it created a sonic boom through the sea floor, blowing the stone debris away in every direction.
Before Kaelen could even raise his sword, Yua appeared right in front of his face. Her crimson-ringed eyes locked onto his pale blue ones, instantly breaking his mental focus with her charm.
"Ah..." Kaelen gasped, his mind going completely blank as the charm flooded his brain with overwhelming paralysis.
Yua reached out with her bare, clawed hand, plunged her fingers straight through Kaelen’s silver breastplate, and ripped his shoulder joint entirely out of its socket!
"AAAAAAAHHH!" Kaelen shrieked, falling backward into the mud, neon-blue liquid magic spurting wildly from his ruined shoulder.
"Kaelen!" Lyra yelled, raising her staff to cast a defense spell.
Yua spun around like a hurricane. She didn’t care about the blue liquid magic burning her hands anymore. She grabbed Thorne by his massive bronze gauntlet, lifted the giant man effortlessly with one arm, and slammed him violently into Lyra and Mirei!
The three executioners collided with a deafening crash, tumbling across the seabed in a tangle of limbs and broken armor.
"Die! Just die, you monster!" Vesper roared, casting three massive light spears from the magic circle behind her.
The spears shot toward Yua, moving at blinding speed.
Yua didn’t dodge. She bared her fangs, raised her clawed hands, and caught the light spears with her bare palms! The intense light burned her skin, turning her flesh black and smoking, but her raw physical power forced the spears to a dead stop. With a savage roar, she snapped the solid light spells in half with her bare hands!
Vesper stumbled back two steps, her face pale with utter shock. "She’s... she’s catching light spells with raw physical force?! How can a body hold that much sheer power?!"
Yua stepped forward, her eyes glowing with pure, unhinged murder. Blood poured from her burns and cuts, but she didn’t seem to feel it anymore. The sheer adrenaline and raw monster strength of her bloodline were overriding her physical limits.
She leaped toward Vesper, her black claws raised to slice the woman’s head off—
Miles away from the chaotic battle in the lower canyons, a completely different part of the ocean domain remained eerily quiet.
Elara ran through the flooded archways of the upper sanctuary. Her lightweight leather armor was soaked, and her breath came in short, ragged gasps as she navigated the familiar, winding halls of her former home.
The paths here were carved from smooth, pale sea-stone, surrounded by gentle water currents that usually carried the peaceful songs of the mer-folk. But today, the silence was total. No songs echoed through the pillars. No guards patrolled the wide corridors.
"Yua... Kyle..." Elara whispered to herself, her hand tightly gripping the hilt of her twin water-daggers. "Please stay alive..."
She knew she couldn’t turn back. Kyle had gone to handle the lower breach, and Yua was holding off the execution squad in the deep trench. Elara’s mission was to secure the emergency exit portals in the upper sanctuary so they could evacuate any remaining survivors once the main defensive line fell.
She rounded a wide corner, stepping into the grand courtyard of the upper sanctuary.
The space was a massive, circular hall surrounded by towering stone pillars. In the center of the hall, standing beside a quiet, reflecting pool that wasn’t affected by the war raging below, stood a single figure.
Elara stopped dead in her tracks. Her heart felt like it plummeted straight into her stomach.
The woman standing by the pool wore long, flowing robes of deep azure and silver, embroidered with ancient aquatic crests. Her long, pale blue hair drifted around her shoulders, falling past her waist like liquid silk. She carried no weapons, and her face was completely smooth, beautiful, and devoid of any fear or panic.
She turned slowly, her deep blue eyes fixing onto Elara with a cold, distant warmth.
"Elara," the woman spoke softly. Her voice was like the calm surface of a deep ocean lake—gentle, clear, and immensely powerful.
Elara’s fingers trembled on the hilts of her daggers. Her throat felt tight, making it almost impossible to swallow.
"Mother..." Elara breathed out, her voice barely a whisper in the silent hall.
Selena, the Grand Duchess of the clover council and ruler of one of the 6 most powerful kingdoms in the enchanted world, looked at her daughter. There was no anger in her eyes, no shock at the blood on Elara’s clothes or the weapons in her hands—only a quiet, tragic resignation.
"You shouldn’t have come back here, my child," Selena said softly, taking a step toward her.
The ambient light in the courtyard began to flicker, fading slowly into shadows as the two women stood facing each other across the quiet stone floor.
