Turns Out I'm the Real Monster?!
Chapter 130 - 96: Zombie King
Chapter 130: Chapter 96: Zombie King
A Demon!
Han Yushu’s pupils contracted.
He had seen Demons before, during the previous fog fiend invasion—those who had been corrupted by the fiend’s poison.
But why was there one in his own home?!
The delayed terror immediately overwhelmed his reason. Han Yushu let out a terrified scream and turned to scramble up the ladder.
He had only climbed a few rungs when an icy hand grabbed his ankle and pulled.
"Help!"
"Let go of me!!"
Han Yushu clung desperately to the ladder’s wooden rungs, screaming his head off as he frantically kicked at the person below him.
But the servant girl, as if feeling no pain, suddenly leaped up and viciously bit down on his butt.
"ARGH—!!"
Han Yushu let out a squeal like a stuck pig.
Just then, a flash of crimson light streaked past.
The servant girl’s head flew into the air, and her headless body crumpled to the ground.
Han Yushu, still shaken, turned his head and saw—
It was Jiang Mu!
"Where’s Lingzhu?"
Jiang Mu yanked him off the ladder and demanded.
Han Yushu pointed at the top of the wall, stammering, "Sh-she... they climbed over the wall and ran..."
Jiang Mu froze.
’Hold on, is this little doctor lady’s self-preservation instinct really that sharp?’
’She must have maxed out her stats in it.’
’It was the same last time in Heitu Village. She ran faster than a rabbit.’
’In some horror movies, a character like her would leave the director stumped on how to continue the story. After all, she’d just ended a plot that could have been dragged out for two hours in five minutes.’
Seeing Han Yushu still trying to climb the ladder, Jiang Mu said irritably:
"Don’t waste your energy. We can’t get out anymore. If you’d run with them just now, you might have been saved."
With Chu Lingzhu having already escaped, Jiang Mu could finally relax.
Back in the room, the Zombie King hadn’t attacked him for some reason.
But Jiang Mu understood it wasn’t because it was afraid of him. It seemed to have more important things to do and simply couldn’t be bothered with him for the moment.
That was how he managed to slip away and get here.
Looking at the servant girl’s corpse on the ground, Jiang Mu felt a headache coming on.
He felt no guilt over her death.
Judging from those Talismans, even if he hadn’t come to investigate today, the zombie Han Chenghu would have broken its seal soon enough.
When that happened, everyone in this courtyard was going to die sooner or later.
’The question now is, how do I escape?’
’A direct confrontation is out of the question. That zombie is at least Tier Seven or Eight. It could crush me as easily as an ant.’
’My only hope is that Chu Lingzhu is clever enough to hurry back to the department and get reinforcements.’
Han Yushu didn’t believe Jiang Mu at all and stubbornly climbed to the top of the wall.
But when he looked over, he was completely dumbfounded.
Outside the wall, black mist swirled. Thick, blackish-red vines, like giant pythons, were interwoven to form a massive cage, completely sealing off the entire courtyard.
In that instant, Han Yushu was gutted by regret.
’Why didn’t I run with Chu Lingzhu and the others just now?!’
Then, a surge of resentment toward Chu Lingzhu rose within him.
’Why didn’t she explain things clearly to me? Why didn’t she drag me along with her? She knew I was in danger, but she only cared about saving herself. So selfish!’
As he was stewing in his resentment, the support beneath his feet suddenly vanished.
Jiang Mu had kicked the ladder over.
Han Yushu fell flat on his face, his own turning deathly pale from the pain. He couldn’t catch his breath for a long moment.
"Take off your pants."
Jiang Mu said lightly, "And stick your ass in the air."
"Wh-what for?"
Han Yushu subconsciously covered his butt, a look of terror on his face.
Jiang Mu said coldly, "I’m going to see if that Demon servant girl broke the skin when she bit you. If she did..."
The long saber in his hand glinted, its cold light sharp and menacing.
Han Yushu trembled in fear, shaking his head frantically. "She didn’t! She didn’t! She definitely didn’t break the skin!"
Jiang Mu kicked him over and was about to use his saber to slash open his pants for a look when a figure suddenly rushed over.
It was Madam Han.
Her clothes were in disarray, she was spattered with blood, and she carried a longsword that glinted with cold light.
Jiang Mu narrowed his eyes.
’I can’t believe I didn’t see it before. This vixen is a Cultivator. Looks like she used some kind of Secret Skill to hide her aura.’
Upon seeing Jiang Mu, Madam Han froze for a moment. Then, as if she understood something, she roared furiously:
"You, Jiang! What did you do in my room!?"
Jiang Mu sneered.
"You should be asking yourself what you’ve done. You walled up your own husband and ended up raising a Zombie King! And now look, none of us can get out. You really are a brain-dead whore!"
"You—!"
Madam Han trembled with fury, about to lash out.
THUD!
A black shadow suddenly flew down from mid-air and smashed heavily onto the ground.
It was a man.
His build was similar to Han Chenghu’s, but his face was completely different.
"Senior Sister..."
The man raised a mangled, bloody hand and called out weakly to Madam Han, "He’s practiced a Secret Skill from the Fengdu Mountain Ghost Sect... Quick... Run..."
Realization dawned on Jiang Mu. "So he’s the fraudulent lover you used to replace your husband."
SQUELCH—
Before the man could finish, a foot stomped down, crushing his head and sending brains spattering everywhere.
The real Han Chenghu appeared before them.
His hands were clasped behind his back, his body entwined with bizarre vine-like tentacles, and a blackish-red Evil Qi swirled around him.
The moment he appeared, a terrifying pressure descended upon the courtyard like a mountain.
He looked at his wife with a smirk that was not quite a smile.
"My dear wife, this lover you found is not even as good as your husband.
Every time I watched you two... TSK TSK, it seems he was never quite able to satisfy you completely."
"Father..."
On the ground, Han Yushu was completely stunned. His mind was a total blank, unable to process anything that was happening before his eyes.
Madam Han’s delicate frame trembled even more violently, her eyes filled with terror.
Han Chenghu turned his head, his gaze falling upon Jiang Mu. The corner of his mouth curled into an amused smile.
"You’re not bad, kid. You’ve certainly got a way with women. Even I’m a little impressed. No wonder my wife couldn’t forget you.
Do you have any last words before you die?"
Jiang Mu thought for a moment, then said seriously:
"Your wife is incredible."
