Chapter 1815: The Siblings’ First Meeting

  • Next Chapter

As the car was about to reach the hospital.

Trevor’s phone rang, and he released her hand, put on his Bluetooth earphones, "Hello." After listening to what the other party said, he replied, "Okay, sure, I’ll probably come over at nine."

But the other party asked if he could come a bit earlier?

So Trevor thought for a moment, then changed his mind, "How about eight-thirty?"

Listening to the conversation, Janelle knew he was busy today, so she turned to him and gently said, "It’s okay. You should go to the office first. Just drop me off at the hospital entrance."

Trevor couldn’t delay things on his end because there was some urgent matter at the company that needed his personal attention. Thus, Trevor changed his mind again, "Okay, I’ll be there soon."

Going to the hospital was on the way to the office.

After ending the call, Trevor glanced at the girl sitting in the passenger seat and said to her, "Janelle, you go up and accompany Auntie first. I’ll come over after I finish with the company affairs."

"Alright." The girl smiled softly, "You go on and focus on your work. Mom’s condition is stable now, and nothing unexpected will happen."

The matter of recognizing family ties wasn’t discussed again this morning.

Because Trevor had said everything that needed to be said last night.

He would give her enough time to process and wouldn’t exert any pressure on her.

Soon, Trevor’s car stopped at the hospital entrance.

After Janelle got out of the car, she bent down to wave at him, "Goodbye, take care on the road."

"Goodbye." Trevor’s eyes were deep and gentle; in his eyes, this girl was the most perfect lady in the world.

No matter what happens, he would stay by her side, and regardless of any identities, he would marry her.

Watching her step inside and seeing her silhouette disappear, he then started the car and drove away.

Janelle Mills had just entered the hospital lobby, hadn’t taken more than two steps, when she saw Ian Shelby standing three meters away.

Today he wasn’t wearing his work uniform, instead dressed in a light blue handmade suit, standing there calmly, his gaze resting on her, as if waiting for her.

The girl couldn’t help but slowly stop her steps, meeting his gaze unwaveringly.

Her mood subtly changed.

Ian stepped forward, standing before her, asking across the modest distance, "Good morning, have you had breakfast?"

"I’ve eaten." The girl replied softly and adjusted her gaze.

"Can we have a cup of coffee?" Afraid she might refuse, Ian added, "Ten minutes." Meaning, I won’t take up much of your time.

Janelle Mills thought for a moment, raised her eyes again to meet his gaze, she didn’t refuse; the man before her was someone she must face sooner or later.

Five minutes later, at a café beside the hospital.

Since it was a weekday, it was particularly quiet with almost no customers, just the two of them by the window.

Sitting across the table, Janelle Mills felt an immense amount of pressure, sighed lightly, picked up the latte just brought by the waiter, suddenly becoming somewhat timid and at a loss for words, unsure of what to say.

Ian, being a doctor, had studied psychology as well, so he could very well understand the complexities in her heart at this moment.

He truly didn’t want to put any pressure on her, feeling very sorry for her.

Therefore, he didn’t ask directly but gently narrated the incident of her going missing as a child... he felt she had the right to know.

This way, misunderstandings wouldn’t arise, like falsely assuming she was abandoned.
