Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1814: Everyone Calm Down
Arriving at the terrace, he leaned against the railing, facing the cool evening breeze, casting his gaze towards the distant horizon. Within his profound eyes lingered a trace of sorrow.
His figure appeared somewhat thin and solitary.
Actually, after the identification results came out today, he had several impulses to talk to Janelle, but he suppressed them, wanting to wait for her to digest it herself first.
That feeling was truly conflicted... He continually suppressed the urgency he had been feeling for years; every second in the hospital felt like torture.
He really wanted to rush over and hold her tightly!
That night, Ian Shelby was destined to be sleepless. Suddenly, he felt a bit afraid, afraid Janelle would refuse to recognize the royal family for the sake of Mr. Mills and Mrs. Mills.
Then, his father’s regret would be lifelong...
As a son, how could he bear to see his father regret for a lifetime?
His father was a man who had narrowly escaped death, finding his sister is the only wish he has now.
In the hospital.
After Trevor took Janelle home, only Nathan Mills stayed to accompany Carlotta.
Ian Shelby changed her medication in the afternoon, so she had a noticeable recovery now, feeling that she could be discharged.
But her mood? It was completely opposite, feeling like it had plummeted, her face heavy, she didn’t even want to speak.
"Carlotta." Old Mills sat in the chair beside the bed, speaking thoughtfully to her, "Regarding Janelle, I’ve thought about it, we should encourage her to recognize her lineage."
Carlotta’s thoughts pulled back, she turned her gaze steadily towards him, yet still did not express any stance.
Nathan Mills tried to empathize with her feelings, though his own heart felt the same way—heavy and reluctant.
But he had analyzed it calmly and rationally. He said, "After all, the blood bond of family cannot be severed. Our daughter is grown now, she must have her own considerations."
"..." Carlotta was enveloped in a feeling of imminent loss, her heart felt unprecedentedly upset.
"Previously, she said she didn’t want to recognize them, because she hadn’t found her biological parents. Now that the paternity test is out, if she’s completely unmoved, it’s unreasonable."
"Besides, she’s grown up, she’s not a three-year-old child who will be taken away. Even if she recognizes them, I believe that doesn’t mean she will abandon us; the affection between us still exists."
Old Mills’s analysis was very reasonable, but Carlotta understood it too. However... her daughter was raised by her own hands, carrying all her hopes; she offered all her love to her.
Every moment since the identification report came out, Carlotta felt as if someone were trying to snatch her treasure away.
That night, Old Mills talked to her a lot, analyzed much.
Carlotta only listened, without refuting, no matter how upset she felt inside, she did not voice it.
When lying in bed, she closed her eyes and digested it herself.
Perhaps letting Janelle recognize her lineage is the best outcome...
She couldn’t be selfish enough to leave Janelle’s life with regrets.
After all, that is the royal family, her original family is noble; neither wealth nor power can be compared.
She couldn’t deprive Janelle of her life anymore... whether to recognize it or not should be Janelle’s decision.
Although reluctant, Carlotta had made up her mind in her heart. She wouldn’t interfere too much.
The moon sets and the sun rises, the next morning.
With the beautiful morning light, Trevor drove Janelle to the hospital, holding her hand all the way without saying a word.
Last night, Trevor had guided her for a long time; Janelle now had relatively clear thoughts of her own. She wasn’t as tormented as yesterday; she wanted to try to solve this problem.
