Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1919: Receiving a Role in a Bizarre Way
Abby Sawyer felt her gaze upon her, recalling what Violet Sutton had told her downstairs, that Angel was the mastermind behind this morning’s events.
However, Abby had her own judgment. She had no evidence, but kept her guard up and didn’t fully believe it.
"Abby Sawyer, what’s your relationship with CEO Kingston exactly?"
Angel asked lightly, rising from the couch to examine her with a disdainful look, her tone somewhat sarcastic, "You’re not really his lover, are you?"
Abby was about to explode!
Her nerves tensed involuntarily, a fierce look flashed in her eyes, "Of course not!"
The two women locked eyes, and Abby recalled the scene from that day, the meeting with CEO Kingston, which only she knew about.
"Did you rashly speculate and then spread it around?" Abby stared at her, trying hard to suppress her anger, "I heard comments like that in the elevator as well."
"Unless you do nothing, there will always be rumors. I don’t believe there’s nothing between you and CEO Kingston," Angel said disdainfully before turning to leave.
Before leaving, Sharon said to Abby Sawyer, "Starting today, you’re no longer Keira’s assistant. The director will be looking for you soon, take care."
Abby Sawyer was at a loss for words!
In no time, the director did come over, handed her a script, and said flatly, "Prepare yourself, you have your first scene tomorrow morning at eight. I hope you won’t take too many cuts, affecting the shooting progress, I don’t care whose person you are, I’ll replace you just the same."
After saying that, the director left without looking back, not even giving her a glance earlier.
Abby Sawyer held the script, feeling a bit dazed.
She got a role??
In such a bizarre way??
Why did Violet leave? Why did CEO Kingston let her go?
Was CEO Kingston standing up for her because of this morning’s incident? How could that be possible? CEO Kingston has a busy schedule, how could he have time for her?
Moreover, how could CEO Kingston even know about this?
Abby Sawyer knew her relationship with CEO Kingston perfectly well, they were complete strangers, having met only once, not even considered friends.
Abby Sawyer couldn’t figure out why all this was happening...
But she knew Violet Sutton’s replacement was a fact, and since she had a dream of acting, she had to perform well in this debut film, not hold everyone back, and prove everything with her strength.
The launch ceremony was already over, many artists took a break and then left with their assistants.
The entire building gradually turned from the morning’s bustle to quiet.
Abby Sawyer returned home with the script, tucking away her complex emotions and almost using all her time to read the script, marking her lines with a highlighter.
Then she brewed emotions over and over, practicing expressions in front of the mirror.
This morning, Joanna Sawyer completed her discharge procedures, and Henry Chase drove her to the Kingston Group’s building.
"You don’t need to get out of the car, bye, and thanks for bringing me here!" The girl got out of the car with her bag and waved to him, "Bye, take care on the way!"
"What time do you get off work? Can I come pick you up?" Henry Chase liked her, so he especially wanted to be there for her.
"No need, it’s my first day, I still need to get familiar with the environment, who knows how late it might be, you go on!"
After speaking, she stepped inside.
This Kingston Group was truly impressive and luxurious! It’s worthy of being a landmark building.
As she entered, Jerry Garcia just walked out of the elevator and spotted her immediately.
Jerry Garcia smiled and walked quickly towards her, "Hey, Miss Bibi!"
"Hello, Assistant Garcia!" The girl moved forward with a full smile, "Just call me Bibi from now on, four syllables are too much to say!"
