Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1921: Tess Tate Is Deeply Shocked

  • Next Chapter

The minimalist yet elegant CEO office was bathed in the tranquil glow of sunset.

Justin Kingston sat against the light in his office chair, exuding extraordinary grace and charisma.

The day’s work was winding down. As he organized the documents, he said to Jerry Garcia, "Can you find Tess Tate for me? I have something to discuss with her."

"Which Tess Tate?" Jerry momentarily couldn’t recall any such person.

Justin raised his eyes, "The one from the legal department, Abby Sawyer’s high school best friend."

With this reminder, Jerry quickly remembered. He had bumped into her the day he left with a photograph in hand. "Alright," he said.

He picked up the desk phone to dial the legal department, but no one answered.

So, Jerry paused his current work, stood up, and headed out the door. He needed to find her before the end of the workday.

He took the elevator directly to the legal department.

Standing at the entrance and peering inside, he didn’t see her, so he asked a boy who had just entered with a water cup, "Hi, could you tell me where Tess Tate is?"

The boy stopped to look at him and hurriedly greeted him, "Hello, Assistant Garcia. Tess Tate is in the pantry; I just ran into her."

"Great, thanks." Jerry turned and headed towards the pantry.

In the pantry, the hot water dispenser was acting up; it seemed to be malfunctioning.

Tess Tate pressed several times without any response, but when she leaned in for a closer look, scalding hot water started to flow.

Startled, she quickly used a cup to catch the water. As the cup filled up, Jerry approached from behind her and softly called out, "Tess?"

When the girl turned her gaze to the voice, the water cup was already full, and the boiling water overflowed, "Ah!" She quickly moved the cup aside.

"Careful!"

Jerry swiftly helped to turn off the hot water and took the cup from her hands.

"Be careful; it’s very hot," Tess said to him, noticing a slight burn on her fingers.

Jerry saw her reddened fingertips and quickly advised, "Go run some cold water over it; I’ll take care of this."

She smiled apologetically at him and then turned to open the cold water faucet, placing her hands under the flow, "Assistant Garcia, did you come looking for me?"

"CEO Kingston is looking for you. Do you have time now?"

When it’s the CEO calling, you have to make time.

So, Tess returned to the office to put down her cup, then followed Jerry upstairs.

"Why is the CEO looking for me?"

"I’m not sure."

Seeing Tess enter, Justin paused his work.

"Hello, CEO Kingston." The girl was slightly reserved.

"Tess, there’s something I need to tell you." Justin stood up and spoke to her in a friendly tone, "I’ve found Abby Sawyer."

Tess was utterly shocked!

Then Justin shared the details of what he knew with her.

Tess listened intently, even more astonished, "What? She lost her memory?"

"Yes," Justin replied to her, "The main reason I called you today is because the circle’s small, and I fear you might run into her one day. Her sister wishes us not to mention anything from before she lost her memory."

"She went through a lot of pain after the breakup, and it was only after the car accident that she started to recover. It’s best not to bring up the past; she’s experiencing a rebirth."

Can a person forget for so long? For ten years?

To erase those agonizing memories?

What a significant stroke of luck this must be.

Tess was filled with awe, feeling that youth is often marred with bruises, and such pain can sometimes drain a person for life.

Is Abby liberated now?
