Two Realms: I Will Become the Immortal Emperor

Chapter 581: Azure Dragon Hall’s Old Hall Master, Wen Yangxi

  • Next Chapter

A storm of blood and mangled corpses erupted around the Spiritual Boat.

Chen Che charged toward Wen Yangxi.

This was no time to worry about being the bird that sticks its head out, for he had already revealed himself and been spotted by his opponent. Just as he would not spare the enemy, the enemy would certainly not spare him.

SCREEE—

Chen Che stomped his foot.

Amidst a sharp cry, the Little Chick revealed its true form. Its sparrow-sized body exploded in an instant to over a thousand feet in length. It flew straight out of the Spiritual Boat with him on its back. A single flap of its colossal wings sent the swarming Demon Beasts around them tumbling.

However, the first thing awaiting him outside the Spiritual Boat were two Clawed Flood Dragons.

“So you’re the famed Valley Master Chen. Wen Yangxi, at your service. Seeing is believing, they say. I hear Wei Yanzhou even made you a Chief…!”

“Piss off!”

Chen Che had no time for such martial world pleasantries. The Little Chick, linked to his thoughts, had already slammed into the two Clawed Flood Dragons blocking their way. It shot out its massive claws, one aimed at each of the Clawed Flood Dragons.

The Suan Yu was an Ancient Fierce Beast, after all.

Though it was unknown how much of their ancient bloodline they possessed, the two Clawed Flood Dragons were still an immense eight to nine hundred feet long. They were slender and cunning, and being twins born from a single egg, their minds were linked.

Seeing their opponent’s blatant arrogance, the Clawed Flood Dragons’ crimson-black eyes narrowed in unison. Their mouths twisted into mocking sneers, like those of human Cultivators. Four beams of brilliant light shot from their eyes as their sharp, hooked claws rose to meet their suicidal foe.

SCREEE—

A deafening sonic boom echoed as their Magic clashed violently in mid-air.

In the melee that followed, the Little Chick, strengthened by the Illusion Beast Fruit, immediately gained the upper hand.

Its powerful claws shot out, faster than those of the Clawed Flood Dragons, and clamped down on their throats—one on the left, one on the right. The sudden, immense force bent the dragons’ long, slender bodies backward like drawn bows.

It even flung aside their tails as they tried to coil around it, the sound of their bones twisting and cracking like the rapid-fire CRACKLE of a Giant Cannon.

Wen Yangxi was stunned.

‘He’d known his opponent’s trump card all along and was confident his two Clawed Flood Dragons could easily tear the enemy’s Spirit Pet to shreds. After all, he was a true Beast Master. How could he possibly be weaker than some half-baked amateur?’

‘And yet, they’d lost the upper hand in the very first clash.’

“ROAR!”

However, if the Clawed Flood Dragons were so easily defeated, Wen Yangxi would never have been able to secure his position as the Old Hall Master of the Azure Dragon Hall with them. And at his Realm, a Beast Taming Order was not limited to spoken commands.

A mere thought from him was enough. The two subdued Clawed Flood Dragons threw open their maws and roared with all their might.

One on the left, one on the right, their roars harmonized into a rhythmic chant.

In a flash, a massive tornado swept up the horde of beasts on the ground below, instantly shredding them to bloody dust. The aerosolized blood was drawn into the cyclone, rapidly coalescing in mid-air into a three-headed, blood-red Clawed Flood Dragon, its scales and horns bristling with rage.

Even as it formed, it lunged—two heads snapping at the Little Chick’s wings, the third at Chen Che on its back.

“Che’er!”

The moment Meng Changtu saw this, a thought flashed through his mind, and he willed his Green-Winged Flood Dragon to fly to the rescue.

The other Golden Core Cultivators on the Spiritual Boat also prepared to intervene.

However, the three generations of the Azure Dragon Hall’s Old Hall Master’s family attacked in perfect, unspoken coordination.

The melody of the father and son’s flutes suddenly shifted, turning fierce and aggressive. Beneath the Spiritual Boat, a mountain peak began to RUMBLE and rise. Then, what looked like a giant stone pillar shot up, smashing toward the ascending Green-Winged Flood Dragon with a clumsy yet ferocious speed.

Who could have guessed that a giant turtle had been concealing its aura, hidden from everyone’s senses, only to strike at this critical moment?

“CRACK!”

It was the sound of sinew and bone shattering.

The Green-Winged Flood Dragon’s body convulsed. It spat out a mouthful of blood and was sent flying backward even faster than it had charged in. It snapped countless thousand-foot-tall trees like twigs, its body immediately swallowed by the endless sea of the forest.

Meanwhile, the Mudskipper Shrimp rushing to the rescue was simultaneously intercepted by another Giant Flood Dragon of an unidentifiable breed.

This Giant Flood Dragon had been hiding within a river flowing through the mountains. Just as the Mudskipper Shrimp prepared to summon a tidal wave, the dragon shot out without warning, trailing endless, layered waves behind it. In a flash, its massive body coiled around and ensnared the thousand-foot-long Mudskipper Shrimp.

Its maw, filled with sharp teeth, clamped down on the shrimp’s other raised Claw Clamp. The sharp crack of its Armor being pierced was so clear it could be heard from miles away.

As for the other Golden Core Cultivators, they were met with an endless horde of Demon Beasts.

God knows how many Demon Beasts were gathered here!

They weren’t just from two major states, but possibly four or even five. And there were numerous Golden Core Demon Beasts among them… Chen Xi could only think one thing: ‘Has Mist Rain Tower really bet everything they’ve built up over the past thousand years on this?’

“Duobao still hasn’t sent reinforcements! If I survive this, I swear I’ll raze his…”

Xiao Chan cursed furiously.

In his mind, Duobao had to be watching coldly from the sidelines, perhaps even preventing others from helping. But a glance revealed that nearly a hundred Spiritual Boats were all weathering a fierce counterattack from Mist Rain Tower.

The Spiritual Boat carrying Jiang Shaotian of the Star-Picking Sect was under assault by the White Tiger Hall. Duobao’s own vessel was being attacked by the Azure Dragon Hall. Not even counting their own losses, a total of twenty-one Spiritual Boats from the two Major Sects had already been taken down!

A single glance was enough to see that in Chu State alone, Mist Rain Tower had gathered three of its major Halls and twelve minor ones—seventy percent of their entire main force!

Any Cultivator who left the protection of their Spiritual Boat was as good as trapped in a cage.

Even Golden Core Cultivators found themselves in dire straits. A swarm of Cannibal Ants can strip an elephant to the bone in moments, and the Demon Beasts they faced were far more formidable.

“Damn it!”

Chen Xi had obviously seen it too.

“…I…”

Duobao was cursing on his end as well.

At the same time Chen Che was attacked, he too was ambushed by the Azure Dragon Hall and was locked in a bitter fight. He had been cursing the other Halls for not providing aid, but when he saw what was happening to them, he was forced to shut his mouth.

In that moment, a chill crept into every person’s heart.

They had all expected a tough fight, but no one had imagined it would be the final, decisive battle.

“CRACK!”

Just then, two of the three-headed blood-red Clawed Flood Dragon’s heads bit down hard on the Little Chick’s wings, pinning it in mid-air. The third and final head lunged for Chen Che, its maw gaping wide as if to swallow heaven and earth.
