On his way back, Su Yunzhou began to think about his plans for the evening.

Earlier, he had received a call from his buddy, Old Iron Lin Shouqing. Lin Shouqing mentioned that his training course was finishing up this afternoon and he planned to head back tomorrow. He wanted to grab dinner to thank Old Iron for the hospitality, specifically emphasizing that he would be the one hosting tonight.

Su Yunzhou naturally knew what Old Iron meant. He just didn’t want Su Yunzhou to spend money. But the bond between them truly couldn’t be measured by money. If push came to shove, it was just a small amount of cash, and Su Yunzhou really didn’t care.

A man would only have a handful of true friends in his lifetime. These were the kind of friends they might not contact much on a daily basis, but when trouble arose, a single phone call was all it took. Those with money would chip in, and those without would offer their labor, never hesitating or flaking out.

Lin Shouqing had helped him out a lot in the past. Now that Su Yunzhou had money, he definitely had to take his bro along for the ride.

While he was lost in thought, an enthusiastic voice called out from the side.

“Hey handsome, what a coincidence!”

Tao stepped forward with a face full of joy.

Snapping back to reality, Su Yunzhou nodded. “Tao?! Are you livestreaming again today?”

Tao shook her head. She gave her shoulders a subtle shimmy, showing off her great figure and her carefully chosen outfit, but the man didn’t seem to react at all. “I’m not livestreaming today. I just came out for a stroll, and I ended up bumping into you again!”

“Mhm,” Su Yunzhou replied.

Tao continued, “Handsome, thanks for giving my stream such great content yesterday. If you’re free tonight, let me treat you to dinner!”

Su Yunzhou shook his head. “Bad timing! I’ve already got a dinner plan tonight.”

“Oh.”

Just as Tao was thinking about how to put her cards on the table, Su Yunzhou glanced at his watch. “I’ll get going then! See ya!”

See ya? If he really left now, who knew how long it would be before they actually saw each other again. Tao had already planned to seize this opportunity, so her next words were incredibly straightforward.

“Handsome, I actually lied just now!

“I came here today just to see if I could run into you again.

“I didn’t expect it to actually happen!”

Su Yunzhou frowned slightly. “Hmm? Looking for me?”

Tao’s eyes sparkled with expectation and determination. She nodded heavily. “Handsome, I don’t know what’s going on, but ever since we met yesterday, you’ve been lingering in my mind.

“Last night, I couldn’t even keep track of how many times I dreamed of you.

“So, this morning I told myself that if I ever met you again, I would definitely speak my mind.

“I like you.

“Whether I get rejected or not, at least I’ll have given myself some closure!

“But who would have thought that I’d run into you right after arriving here…”

Hearing this, Su Yunzhou froze for a moment. He hadn’t expected this female streamer, Tao, to suddenly confess to him out of nowhere.

Believe her? Like hell he did!

They had met by chance and only spent a couple of hours together. Would a pretty female streamer with a good figure really get so hung up on him? That was complete and utter bullshit. Su Yunzhou didn’t think he was that charming. What was she after? His looks? Or his gold?

With this in mind, Su Yunzhou rejected her flatly. “Sorry, I don’t do romance.”

A bitter expression appeared on Tao’s face, but she didn’t give up. “Handsome, I know a guy like you doesn’t have time for dating, but I don’t mind any of that. I just hope you can occasionally make time to have dinner with me, watch a movie together, and…”

Su Yunzhou looked straight into her eyes, thinking that this was the moment to ruthlessly reject her like a total scumbag.

“Maybe I wasn’t clear enough just now. I don’t do romance; I only deal in money. The way I see it, relationships between men and women all come with a clear price tag.

“Do you understand what I’m saying?”

Looking at her face shifting between red and pale, and her eyes welling up with tears, Su Yunzhou frowned. He wondered if his words had been a bit too harsh. After all, she was a girl. Wait, girl or beast, it didn’t matter. He couldn’t afford to be soft-hearted.

However, despite looking like she was on the verge of tears, Tao was actually crying tears of joy on the inside.

She just wanted to talk about money! Why would she want romance? Could love put food on the table? No wonder this handsome guy had been so generous to that other woman. He made everything about money! Clean transactions! No emotional baggage!

She was just wondering what kind of price tag he would put on her.

“Handsome…

“I don’t mind!

“I like you for who you are!”

“Uh…” This response left Su Yunzhou momentarily at a loss.

He really didn’t have any experience with such a direct yet euphemistic negotiation of money and sex. After all, no one would ever expect a girl they were meeting for the second time to confess to them on the street, get rejected so bluntly, and still say she didn’t mind.

Wasn’t that just being cheap? No! It was just the irresistible charm of gold!

Su Yunzhou looked Tao up and down and asked, “Are you sure you’re willing to have a relationship where we only talk about money and not feelings?”

“Mhm!” Tao stared at him with burning eyes. “I’m willing to do that for you.”

Su Yunzhou’s mouth twitched. Now he had really shot himself in the foot.

Undoubtedly, Tao was a gold digger. But from another perspective, this kind of gold digging was a form of honesty. Take Li Yan and Tao, for instance. One loved money, while the other worshipped it.

Loving money and worshipping money both stemmed from a pursuit and desire for wealth, but there was a distinct difference between them. Loving money was a normal psychological state. It involved acquiring wealth through one’s own efforts and legitimate means, typically without violating morals or the law.

Worshipping money, however, meant placing wealth above all else. It meant abandoning morality and doing whatever it took to make a buck.
