Chapter 181: Chapter 177: Interesting Lilia
"Boyfriend~"
As Lilia’s voice faded, the pale man paid no mind. Instead, he turned his gaze to the stylish young man wearing sunglasses.
Su Yunzhou expressed his rejection through body language, dragging Lilia by the hand and walking forward.
But the pale man still hadn’t given up. He asked, "Handsome, I actually wouldn’t mind a threesome!"
Hearing this, Su Yunzhou stopped in his tracks. With anger in his eyes, he shot back a single, icy word.
"Scram."
The pale man left awkwardly. Seeing his pathetic, pitiful look made Su Yunzhou clench his fists. He respected everyone’s thoughts and ways of living. Even if someone was gay, he wouldn’t reject them; he would just keep a respectful distance. But if someone was being repeatedly obnoxious, then he might really have to show them another way men solved problems.
Lilia didn’t understand that last question, but the annoying fly was finally gone, so they could happily enjoy their shopping.
The two never let go of their joined hands. The warmth and slight sweat of their palms made the atmosphere increasingly ambiguous and intimate. Fingers intertwined, leaving a trail of hormones in the air, they strolled down the street, stopping here and there.
Lilia looked curiously at the shop signs on both sides, as well as the various snacks that were incredibly novel to her, asking questions non-stop. Su Yunzhou smiled and explained things to her while lining up to buy them.
Sometimes, when girls seemed to be asking questions, what they really cared about was the guy’s attitude. Once a man understood the true meaning behind this, he would be much more perceptive when it came to relationships. This was especially true for a "pay-to-win" player like Su Yunzhou. With money in his pockets, he had nothing to panic about. As long as she asked, he would buy it—it was just pocket change, anyway.
There was no need to complain about queuing up being a waste of time. This was also an important part of a date; it all depended on whether one could seize the small opportunities while waiting in line.
Not long after.
On a slightly greasy small table provided for tourists to eat and rest, various snacks were laid out: Three Cannons sticky rice balls, fermented glutinous rice balls, yellow bean jelly, sweet water noodles, and more. The portions were small, but they looked appetizing.
Su Yunzhou gentlemanly wiped the table, unpackaged a pair of chopsticks, carefully inspected them, and handed them over. "Try this spicy one first, and then have the sweet ones..."
Lilia’s eyes sparkled, her heart growing increasingly satisfied with this man. "Yunzhou! You’re really such a gentle person."
Su Yunzhou smiled. "Eat up!"
Lilia awkwardly picked up the chopsticks. She struggled to pick up a piece of yellow bean jelly, took a small bite, and immediately showed an expression of pure enjoyment. Her eyes curved into crescents. "Mhm... So good! Just a little spicy!"
An idea struck Su Yunzhou. He unpackaged another pair of chopsticks, took out a tissue, and rolled the top ends of the chopsticks into the paper, creating a pair of makeshift training chopsticks with a springy rebound.
After Lilia took them, she gave them a try. Sure enough, it greatly improved her eating speed, and a happy smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
"Yunzhou, you’re so sweet!" she praised as she ate, a radiant smile on her face.
There was nothing a girl loved more than being cherished. Sometimes, cherishing someone didn’t necessarily mean spending heaps of cash; it lay in these tiny details. Details determined success or failure, and this principle applied everywhere. Detailed interactions during the ambiguous phase of a relationship were especially irresistible. This was also why some men, who were neither handsome nor wealthy, could always manage to book a hotel room every time they went on a date.
Lilia looked adorable when she ate. There was no pretentiousness about her; her earnest focus on her food gave off a unique kind of charm. Of course, this was mainly because she was already so pretty.
When she was just about finished, she let out a very unladylike burp, followed by a bashful smile.
Su Yunzhou chuckled along, noticing a tiny speck of food on her cheek. He pointed at his own face to gesture to her. Lilia tried twice but still couldn’t wipe it off.
Therefore, Su Yunzhou picked up a tissue and gently wiped it away for her.
"Thank you!" Lilia’s cheeks flushed crimson.
The two cleaned up the table and then continued their stroll.
Walking through the old alley, the ancient trees on both sides were neatly pruned. Sunlight pierced through the leaves and scattered across the ground, creating a beautiful, dappled scene. Lilia excitedly held Su Yunzhou’s hand and turned into another alley.
After taking a left, they spotted an antique shop with an old, worn signboard hanging above the door. The name was quite interesting: Jia’s Genuine Antiques.
"Yunzhou, what are you laughing at?" Lilia asked curiously.
Su Yunzhou explained the pun in the name, to which Lilia remarked, "Looks like this boss is quite honest!"
Su Yunzhou smiled faintly and didn’t elaborate. After all, who would dare to be anything but "honest" when opening an antique shop in a tourist spot? However, just how much this "honesty" was actually worth remained to be seen.
Su Yunzhou and Lilia walked inside. The lighting in the shop was dim, and the old furniture exuded a strong sense of history. The calligraphy and paintings hanging on the walls were quaint and imposing, while the surrounding glass display cabinets were filled with various jade and stone merchandise.
A tall, thin middle-aged man with a clean-shaven face and meticulous attire immediately stood up upon seeing customers enter.
He greeted them, "Hello, you two. What would you like to look at today?"
Su Yunzhou nodded. "We’re just browsing for now."
"Alrighty then."
The middle-aged man genuinely sat back down.
After all, buying antiques was all about fate. If the fate was there, a purchase would be made; if not, talking until one was blue in the face would be useless. For Boss Jia to be able to run this old shop on this street, he might not dare to boast about other things, but he definitely had some expertise in grasping his customers’ psychology.
