Chapter 183: Chapter 177: Interesting Lilia
"Oh~" Su Yunzhou responded. It seemed she was right.
With the female shop assistant’s enthusiastic guidance, Lilia was soon led to the *qipao* section. The display featured various styles: some were elegant and noble, some demure and virtuous, and others lively and graceful. There were also a few with exceptionally short hemlines.
The assistant introduced them. "These are our new designs. Many of our foreign customers love these shorter qipaos." As she spoke, she blinked playfully at Su Yunzhou, leaving him utterly baffled. He wondered what a short qipao had to do with him. How boring!
Lilia still preferred the traditional styles. She picked out two outfits and headed to the fitting room.
When she stepped out, Su Yunzhou couldn’t help but stare in momentary awe.
Before him stood Lilia with her hair pinned up, a few loose strands framing her temples. She wore a white silk qipao that perfectly hugged her impressive curves, making one marvel at her flawless figure. The dress cinched at her impossibly slim waist, and her long, pristine legs were paired with light-colored high heels. She exuded an entirely different kind of gentle, feminine beauty.
She was truly suited for a qipao. Her perfect proportions brought out a unique charm in this deeply Oriental garment. Especially when she walked, the flash of snowy white skin revealed through the side slit made it hard for Su Yunzhou to tear his eyes away.
Those legs were not just legs; they were the spring waters of the Seine Riverbank. It was absolutely mesmerizing.
As Lilia approached and saw his dazed expression, she let out a soft chuckle. "Zhou! Does it look good?"
Su Yunzhou snapped back to reality and smiled, nodding. "It’s beautiful! But I have a small request!"
Lilia did a little twirl. "What is it?"
Looking earnestly into her blue eyes, Su Yunzhou said, "I want to give you this qipao as a gift."
Lilia stepped closer, blinking her bright, beautiful eyes. "Do you like how I look in a qipao?"
"I love it. It’s beautiful."
After boldly stating his thoughts, Su Yunzhou asked the assistant to ring them up, telling her to wrap up the Hanfu from earlier as well.
The assistant nodded with a bright smile, secretly thrilled. These two outfits were not cheap; her sales quota for the day was basically met. Still, she couldn’t help but admire how stunning this foreign beauty looked in a qipao. She had seen plenty of foreigners try them on, but only this woman possessed the aura and charm to completely outshine them all.
BEEP.
"Payment of 5,200 yuan successful."
The assistant fetched two brand-new sets from the stockroom and thoughtfully included a small gift. By this time, Lilia had changed back into her own clothes. The two shared a smile and disappeared down the street, seen off by the highly respectful shop assistant.
Feeling a little tired from shopping, they went to a cafe named "However" to rest. The shop was quite famous, occupying a two-story storefront with a courtyard in a prime real estate area where land was worth its weight in gold.
From the plaque on the wall, they learned it was a charity cafe. A portion of the shop’s profits was donated to a community in Western Sichuan. Su Yunzhou figured it was probably just a gimmick.
He led Lilia to a nice spot in the small courtyard. Before long, a server arrived and set a cup of espresso, a latte, and some pastries on their table.
In the center of the courtyard sat a large screen playing a documentary about the owner’s journey. It showed how he had come to Rongcheng for disaster relief after the 2008 earthquake and eventually decided to stay in this land. Su Yunzhou also noticed that a few of the servers were from ethnic minorities, and his respect for the owner deepened.
At that moment, Lilia set down her coffee. Her gaze drifted forward, discovering a "Midnight Bookstore" filled with books just across the courtyard. Inside, a pure white piano sat elegantly on display.
Her eyes lit up slightly, and a beautiful curve tugged at the corners of her lips. "Zhou, care to give me some pointers?"
"Sure!" Su Yunzhou had noticed the piano too. He vaguely recalled her mentioning that she had passed some sort of high-level piano certification.
Lilia smiled brightly and asked in a soft voice, "Zhou, what piano piece do you want to hear?"
