Ugly, Fat, and Vicious? My Five Beast Husbands Are Obsessed Anyway
Chapter 280 - 282: A Taste of Their Own Medicine
Chapter 280: Chapter 282: A Taste of Their Own Medicine
"Stuff it in the pottery jar? Give her a taste of her own medicine." Xiao Ye’s eyes glinted with amusement. "Luoluo, that’s a great idea."
After saying that, he glanced at Fu Feng. "In that case, you’d better carve carefully, or this trick of yours will fail."
The idea had just come to Su Luoluo in a flash of inspiration. If the wooden effigy could be carved to look like her, it could naturally be carved to look like someone else.
’Since Hua Jinxin is so eager for me to die, and is even using such a vicious trick to make me bleed from all seven orifices, then I’ll let her have a taste of it herself.’
’Once the jar is sealed, that Old Witch probably won’t open it.’
Su Luoluo’s heart filled with delight at the thought that once the witchcraft was activated, Hua Jinxin would be the one afflicted by the Gu.
"It’s a pity I don’t know what that Old Witch looks like," Su Luoluo said, her gaze distant as she looked at the jar. "Otherwise, I could have another one carved and let them both suffer the consequences."
"That’s simple," Xiao Ye said with his arms crossed. "I’ll go find that Old Witch, memorize what she looks like, and come back to have it carved."
"No, don’t. That would expose us too easily," Su Luoluo disagreed.
"Not necessarily," Xi Yi scoffed. "I found some interesting things."
Confused, Su Luoluo looked at Xi Yi. He opened a wooden box, revealing many wooden figures inside.
Su Luoluo glanced inside. The figures were of all sizes, clearly carvings of many different people.
She asked in surprise, "What are all these?"
"Just some figurines used for prayers," Xi Yi said nonchalantly, poking through them with a finger.
"We might be able to find one of the Old Witch."
This greatly piqued Su Luoluo’s interest. She walked over and began rummaging through the box just like Xi Yi. But no matter how much she searched, all she found were figures of white-haired old people, or wooden effigies of Gu Wanyi and another person.
"There don’t seem to be any of middle-aged women, just Gu Wanyi."
’Hua Jinxin calls the Old Witch her Godmother, so she should be around the same age as Gu Wanyi.’
"Who is this middle-aged man?" Su Luoluo asked, holding up a wooden figure to examine it. The eyes and brows were quite well-carved; compared to the other small effigies, it seemed much more detailed.
Fu Feng glanced over, not pausing his carving. "That’s Hua Jinxin’s Father, Hua Daisan. And he’s no good, either."
’The Old Witch is the Hu Family’s most powerful Great Witch, so it’s not surprising there’s a wooden figure of Hua Daisan.’ Su Luoluo thought, glancing at it one more time before putting it down.
Just as Su Luoluo was feeling disappointed, she uncovered something at the bottom of the box. It looked like a feather, tangled up with something else.
"What’s this?" she asked, puzzled.
Xiao Ye glanced over. Upon seeing the object, the corners of his eyes crinkled with a smile. He looked at Fu Feng and teased, "Isn’t this something of a certain someone’s? It’s even tied with a red rope. Looks like someone wants to be tied to him by the red string of fate, hmm?"
Reminded by Xiao Ye, Su Luoluo realized the object in her hand looked familiar. It seemed to belong to Fu Feng.
Hearing this, Fu Feng looked at what Su Luoluo was holding. His emerald eyes instantly turned cold. It was indeed one of his feathers—but one from his childhood. ’How did that Old Witch get this?’
He suddenly remembered how Hua Jinxin had always followed him around as a child. ’She must have picked it up.’
"That Hua Jinxin will pick up any old thing!"
Su Luoluo wasn’t surprised. Hua Jinxin and Fu Feng knew each other, so it wasn’t strange for her to have something of his. What she was curious about was why the items were tied together.
She looked at Xiao Ye, confused. "Do you know what this is for?"
"How would I know about things from their Bird Clan? But an emerald feather tied with a red rope... you don’t have to be a genius to figure out it’s related to a Love Poison."
’So this is a Mandarin Duck Rope?’
Hearing Xiao Ye’s explanation, Su Luoluo immediately understood.
Fu Feng, who was halfway through his carving, set the wooden effigy aside and angrily snatched the feather. "Who wants to be tied to her!"
Su Luoluo looked at the red rope in her hand, then glanced at the figure of Hua Daisan. An idea suddenly popped into her head.
Su Luoluo asked the system in her mind, ’System, is there any connection between the Old Witch and Hua Daisan?’
"Host, your powers of observation are sharp. However, there is no relationship between Hua Daisan and the Old Witch. The Old Witch simply has an unrequited love for Hua Daisan, which is also the reason she befriended Gu Wanyi and became like a sister to her."
’A crush? She has such powerful witchcraft. Why bother with the drama of a secret crush? Couldn’t she just bind herself directly to Hua Daisan?’
"A Great Witch cannot be bonded. Their entire life must be dedicated to the Witch God."
’Then does Gu Wanyi know the Old Witch is interested in Hua Daisan?’
"She has suspected it."
’What a farce.’
’In that case, why don’t I just help her out?’
At this thought, Su Luoluo’s eyes narrowed. She found an item belonging to the Old Witch in the room, tied it to the Hua Daisan effigy with the red rope, and placed them back in the box.
"There, that’s perfect," Su Luoluo said, dusting off her hands.
Xi Yi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at what Su Luoluo had done. "You realize Gu Wanyi and her husband will end up fighting because of this, right?"
Xiao Ye looked at Su Luoluo with a doting expression. "Isn’t that perfect? If they start fighting among themselves, we won’t have to lift a finger."
Su Luoluo figured enough time had passed and turned to Fu Feng. "Is the effigy carved yet?"
"Done," Fu Feng said, blowing away the last of the wood shavings.
Su Luoluo took the effigy, glanced at it, and nodded in approval. "Your craftsmanship is incredible. You’ve made this carving of Hua Jinxin look completely lifelike."
Fu Feng’s heart clenched when he heard that. He quickly clarified his position, "If you like it, Luoluo, I can carve one for you when I get back. I guarantee it’ll look much better than this one."
Su Luoluo chuckled. "What are you so nervous for? I didn’t say anything bad."
’You didn’t say anything, but that’s what’s so scary!’
’My life isn’t easy,’ Fu Feng thought. ’Damned if I carve Hua Jinxin, damned if I don’t.’
Su Luoluo took the finished effigy from Fu Feng and placed it in the pottery jar, positioning it just as her own effigy had been.
After a careful check, she asked the other three, "How does it look? This position is correct, right?"
Xiao Ye nodded. "Yes, that’s exactly right."
Just as they finished and were about to leave, the sound of footsteps came from outside.
Hearing the noise, Xi Yi immediately pulled Su Luoluo aside to hide behind a pile of junk.
Xiao Ye transformed into a dried, dead snake and hung stiffly on the wall.
Fu Feng hid in a pile of chicken feathers, pretending to be a chicken.
CREAK... The door opened from the outside, and a person with a green tattoo on their face, dressed in black beast skin, walked in.
Their eyes were cloudy and their skin was loose and sagging, making them look like an old woman.
"Godmother, when can you start casting the spell on that bitch? I can’t wait to see her bleed from all seven orifices."
"After I cast for seven days, that person will bleed to death." As she spoke, her trembling hands danced in the air.
She didn’t even glance at the pottery jar on the floor. Meanwhile, Hua Jinxin, who was standing behind her with a venomous look on her face, began to feel an itch and subconsciously started to scratch.
Seeing this, Su Luoluo’s lips curved into a smile. ’Everything is going perfectly.’
’They really didn’t notice a thing.’
’Seven days? I’m afraid they won’t have to wait that long.’
’I used my Water Element’s acceleration ability to make the Gu incubate ahead of schedule.’
Hua Jinxin scratched for a while but found that she couldn’t stop the itching at all. She said irritably, "Godmother, I think I’ve been bitten by bugs! Please get me some medicine!"
Hearing this, Hua Li nodded and started to walk out. "Come on, I’ll go get it for you."
After the two of them left, Su Luoluo departed as well, riding on Fu Feng’s back.
Just as they landed back at the Wolf Clan Tribe, three pairs of eyes stared directly at Su Luoluo. "Alright, out with it. What kind of punishment do you want?"
...
"I’ve told you many times not to perch on the branches of Wugou Mountain so often. There are a lot of bugs up there..." Hua Li said earnestly as she ground some medicine, speaking to Hua Jinxin, who stood beside her frantically scratching her ears and cheeks.
Hua Jinxin was scratching and about to say something when she suddenly felt her entire body erupt in an unbearable itch. She couldn’t help but scream:
"AH! It’s so itchy! What is this? Why is my nose bleeding?!"
"AH! My eyes! I can’t see!"
"My ears, too! Why are my ears bleeding?! Godmother, save me! What’s happening to me?"
When Hua Li saw blood pouring from Hua Jinxin’s eyes, she rushed over in shock and held her. "Jinxin! Jinxin, what’s wrong with you?"
She had barely finished speaking when the girl in her arms gurgled and spat out a large mouthful of black blood.
"Bleeding from all seven orifices! This is the Devouring Human Technique!" Hua Li was panic-stricken. "How... how could this be?" She couldn’t understand how this had happened at all.
